Pressure comparison of An Instant Pot to a regular pressure cooker-Birdy
The IP cooks at a slightly lower pressure so you might need to add a few minutes to the cooking time. I've also seen comments that most people don't notice the difference. The 3-quart IP Duo Mini does cook at a lower pressure and needs adjusting but the larger ones aren't off by much.
I've seen suggestions for increasing the time from a stove-top pressure cooker recipe by 5-10% up to as much as 15%, but I don't think this is critical. You could do 10% since it is easy to calculate. If the food isn't done, it doesn't take long to seal the lid and cook for another few minutes. After a while, you'll get a feel for it.
Here's something else I found from a reliable site: The Instant Pot operates at 11.6 psi (about 242°F), whereas other pressure cookers tend to operate at a higher 15 psi (about 250°F). So when you’re adjusting for a recipe that says 15 psi, just try cooking for a few extra minutes.
