Use only real maple syrup. Dark cooking grade gives the most flavor
Maple Glazed Pecans-birdy Recipe courtesy of: Burt Homestead Farm, Maple Products, Cold Brook, NY 4 cups pecan halves (or walnuts, if you prefer) 1 cup real maple syrup (do not use pancake syrup) 1/4 cup water Place 4 cups of pecan halves in a skillet. Measure 1 c. maple syrup and stir in 1/4 c. water. Add syrup mixture to skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring until the syrup has crystallized on the nuts. Do not walk away. Place the coated nuts on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and put in a 300 F. oven. Bake for 10-15 min., stirring once or twice, until nuts are dry. Cool and package in plastic bags.
