Choodles (chocolate snickerdooles)thegeema Sift together: 2 3/4 C sifted flour 2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 to 3/4 C Cocoa (depending on your taste of chocolate) Set aside: Work with a spoon until soft: 1 1/4 C shortening Gradually add: while beating: 2 C sugar 2 tsp vanilla Beat until light. "fluffy" Add one at a time: 2 eggs. Beat until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients. Mixing thoroughly after each addition. Mold dough into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and place on wire racks to cool. Makes about 5 dozen
