Shortbread-tasty 1/2 cup icing sugar 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 cup ap flour 3/4 cup butter, softened Stir together corn starch, icing sugar and flour. With a wooden spoon, blend in butter until a soft, smooth dough forms. Shape into 1" balls (if dough is too soft to handle, cover and chill for 1 hour). Place balls 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with a lightly floured fork. Decorate as desired. Bake in a 300 F oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Cool on a wired rack.
This recipe is so, so simple! To make it even easier, a friend uses her food processor to make the dough and that is what I did too.
