Good Morning again, Its a cloudy cool morning, that is to change come this afternoon. Its 61 going to a high of 93, I sure wish we could get some rain. Its so dry the trees leaves are changing colors. The weeds are growing like crazy my flower beds look terrible, can only stay out for so long in the morning, and then pull more in late evening unless the bugs carry me away. The plan for today is run the big weed eater in the ditch out by the road, pull more weeds, and see how far I can get with the weeds. We also are going to the booth, our weekly trip, hope we sold lots, but with it being so hot, many people don't get out, we did have a fair July, the check wasn't too bad, could of been better for sure.
I don't remember what I read last night, so I guess it just a good morning to all. Janet, good to see you again.

Good Morning, Mary, you are so right, but it will get easier as we use it. I have to tell you this, when ever I see a barn quilt I think of you. So pretty. Thanks for sharing the quilts with us,

Morning everyone.
Waving to Mary in Mi. Nice to see you again. Think of you a lot when I see a barn quilt somewhere.
Day #2 of this heat and humidity. Went out about an hour ago and put a jug of ice tea out to "cook". Gave the plants/flowers their drinks last night and the birds fresh water. Glad I did as it was almost too hot to even put the jug out and it was only 7 a.m. Expect heat index to be in the 100 today. Guess another day of staying inside. Will have to venture out early afternoon and empty and refill the bird bath so the birds can have some fresh cool water. We are supposed to be getting some storms late tomorrow afternoon, heard that one before also, so not expecting it.
DS is stopping after work tomorrow night and bringing me some tiger lilies he dug up, and I'm going to try and replant them. Isn't it too early to be trying to transplant those? Well, anyway I went over to the side of the house to see where I wanted to put them and there are some flowers coming up that are starting to open and look like glads that I had dug up many, many years ago. Guess I didn't get all the bulbs out. :| Will mark the ones that bloom and leave them and then once again try and dig up all the other stuff that is growing there.
Stay cool everyone and enjoy your day.

Hi All, I'm typing this from my phone. It wants me to install an app, but I don't think I need it. We just got back from breakfast. I'm going to post this and then get on my big computer. I see that when I post from my phone I have to go to that little gear and open it and check the circle for edit. I can't edit a mobile post from my computer. DUH MARY, you need to be logged in first. LOL Well, at least I know I can get here from my mobile phone and edit my post. Crazy the things I learn by accident.

Back again, I am in the best mood now after seeing all the post this morning. I feel so lonely when I am the first one. Yes, I should see a doctor for that but I think it comes from being an only child. Well, that's a lie, I am one of 7 but my brother was 10 years older and my other brother 6 years younger so for 6 years I was an only child. The ones that came later I thought my Mother was starting a day care and they would be going home. OK, starting over, it is 73* and very humid this morning under sunny skies. Going to be a cooker today so I will be on house duty today. Not sure what I'll be doing except vacuuming and spraying things. The past 2 weeks we have an onset of fleas. I noticed several around the doors so I think they are coming in from outside. Yesterday was a good day for the weeding. Got out several times for half hour bouts and I won every round. for the next couple days the weeds will wait. Tim is feeling much better now that the chemo is out of his system. He still gets radiation every day but is taking that better. Next week Is when he goes back on chemo so I dread that. He still has the chemo brain but I am dealing with that. Example. he took all kinds of veggies to the nurses because we were not going to be able to eat them all. Last night he said he had bought something for dinner. to my surprise he took out a package of frozen shrimp and 2 bags of stir fry vegetables. The same veggies he had taken to the nurses. I don't understand the thinking on that one but it tasted good. Well, from the looks of this it is another day of talking a lot and saying very little. I am glad to see so many here on the board but I have to wonder where Leroy is. He was on the other night but have not seen him since, and the same with Sandy. If you 2 are reading let us know you are out there. Also welcome to gkids3il, tell us a little about yourself. I looked in your story but you never finished it. What is your name, where do you live, and all those nosy questions. I'm sure we all want to know or maybe that's just me. So I should go and just wish you all have a great day. Lair

Good morning everybody. It sure is a lot nicer to come here & read about everybody's day. Just like the good ole days on the old boards early days. Allen had to have a Coumadin check this am but now he don't have to be checked until 8/22.
He still hasn't heard from the radiation clinic as to when that will be. He called yesterday afternoon but was told they had all left already for the day. WELL guess what--they just called & at 2:15 tomorrow is the time.
On a different note--I have a job interview this afternoon.
Grace--glad to see you made here. I hope you find it easy to more around in.
Have a good one & stay cool

Morning everyone! Good to see Carol back starting this thread. Don't get me wrong, you did a marvellous job, Lair! I gathered Carol has always been the first here. It seems so many are finding their way here. I think it is quite easy getting around this site. Sure, there are a few things that are different but with a bit of time we will all figure these things out.
It is coolish this morning & will be only in the low 70° with rain in the forecast for the next few days. Can't imagine that the farmers are too pleased as the crops are looking ready for harvesting. Of course, I could be wrong as I'm no farmer nor a gardener! 😊 Must get outside & check my plants. Yesterday I never got out all day. Just took the rest of the day off after my company left.
Pretty hum drum stuff happening around here. So, won't bore you with the details. 😊 Have a great day. Beware of the heat if you are out & about.

Good morning. I'm here. Just had too many things going on the last few days to do any checking here. Hopefully, they settle down now. I am working 21 hours this week, which is the start of the busier season starting up. I'll be glad when it cools off a little, as that back room is sure hot. We have a couple fans, cut it's still pretty warm.
I have delivered another 20 quilts, so I'm up to 120 now. Fixins' for 80 more, and then I might have to quit. With a car, and the sewer drain to pay for, that's going to take most of any extra money. I have enough stuff to do the 80 yet.
I'll be back, now that I've been here. Have a good day.

Well Lair your dream has come true ;) were all here . I have to admit I have been way to lazy lately . Not getting much done inside or out. I am now up to date on all my medicals ( Eyes ,Diabetes,Copd, blood work) for this year with the exception of my hands . I have two more tests to take and then they will decide if I'm ready for surgery with the carpel tunnel. I have been fighting this for 14 years and I feel I'm beyond ready .So enough about my ailments and on to better subjects . It's wonderful to see so many back in the Midwest . I don't know what happened at TOH but I am loving this site so much better . I need to go for now we are hauling a freezer to my daughters & I'm the driver 8-) . have a good day & God Bless sandy K

good afternoon folks Thought I had better get back on here before it gets too late and my post would then possibly not get noticed. thanks Carol, Lair, GKids,Caden for your warm welcome back. Meant so much to me. Let me tell you why. It has been a terrible week. Today I cried for the first time in a while and your greetings made me cry more but from happiness. Everything built up and it had to go somewhere you know. Last week a dear person that 40 years ago I baby sat for was found dead at the foot of her bed by her son when he called and she did not answer the phone. A much loved woman in the community and only 69. Her funeral was this morning but I did not go.
Daughter Jill arrived home last Wed. from Colorado to spend three weeks with me. Some of you may remember her. Mtn.Babe. Her name is Jill. We had a whole week together and then on Monday morning we learned that my darling sister in law Patti in Fort Wayne died that morning. she had not been well for two years but her wonderful family banded together and took shifts and kept her in her home! I always referred to her as my sister. A few minutes after that we learned that Jill's husband who is back home in colorado with their two dogs, (really their kids you know) did not know yet but Jill had a message that said his 95 year old mother Mary in New Jersey had fallen and broken her hip! Surgery scheduled for the next day. Right away of course he knows he needs, wants to go to his mother and Jill said no problem.she would make his flight plans and she would call the boarding place in Estes Park, Co and board the dogs until he came home. Well they were booked solid for the summer and fall. the other plce was too but she would never leave he dogs at that place.
What can she do but make flight plans to get home tonight 5 hours after her husband is on his way to New Jersey! The dogs will be alone in the house for just that length of time barring anything going wrong with her flight. So they will pass each other this evening in the Denver airport him going east and her going west. It will take her three hours to get home from the airport. Shuttle bus to Loveland then home through the Big Thompson Canyon in the dark.I am sure you know that canyon Lair.
So all those plans were made by Jill. cancelling other flights and making new ones.
Then this morning I got two calls telling me that my sister June who just turned 90 in June is in the hospital again. Same thing she had last year in florida. Awful vertigo. Can't keep anything down including water and meds.so she won't be going to our sister in law's funeral and I had hoped to see her there you know.
Am I rambling too much?
So is it any wonder I have been weepy today? It all got to me. Jill and I had almost everything set up for my garage sale this weekend too so here I sit with my garage full, car outside for who knows how long that will be and some tables out under the apple tree all covered and safe until I can get back to that job. I have two local daughters tho that will be happy to help me with the sale.
and... daughter Joni was to have arrived in a few days from virginia and last night we talked her out of coming and and for her to wait until October when Jill plans to come back for three weeks. It is so hot here anyway. Joni gets sick sometimes driving that far but she drives so that her little beagal can come to gramma's and have a nice big yard to run around in for several weeks. We are a crazy dog loving family!!We are!And Joni loves cats too.
So that is my story. It is a long one and does it sort of make up for my being so neglectful in posting? I am a lurker and usually have not much to say. Love to read what you guys are doing. All the time! Back yard Chat bunch has always been my favorite place on the internet. So it made me cry more than I was and it made me happy to get the nice welcome here and Lair you never fail to make me smile and shake my head at your playful mind!!! I am sorry for all you and Tim are dealing with. How awful. I care about all of you.
I think I have only written so much before just once. When Larry died.It will be three years on October 13th. Been missing him too. Just a weepy afternoon here in Plainwell, Mi. I will feel better when I know both Jill and Nick have reached their destinations safely. Boy, I always say, you just don't know what a day will bring!!
Oh yes, and having to move Midwest chat too was unsettling. Hey it isn't easy being me. LOL so hi again to all of you, Mary
Guess I will go watch those bears in Alaska for a while. That is mostly calming. Until you think one of the cubs is missing!! Mary

I've been outside digging quack grass and filling in low spots with dirt.
Sandy, For my carpal tunnel surgery all they did was make a 1" cut on the palm of my hand about an inch from my wrist. The dr. snipped the ligaments that create the carpal tunnel. When he snipped the ligament it released all the nerves so they had room to move and expand. I had a numb, tingling thumb when I got there and I had feeling back in my thumb before I even left the hospital. I had this done March 6, 2015. I put up with this for many years also, but way back when they wanted to operate on my elbow and shoulder also. Why that much cutting? was my question to them back then, and it never got done.
I have developed a trigger finger in my middle finger. No, it get stuck down not up. LOL I was warned this could happen. This just started this spring since I started using my hand a lot gripping and pulling weeds. At least the hand doesn't keep me up at night throbbing and hurting anymore.
