I love Saturday mornings -- pumpkin bread and coffee. DH and I are planning to replace our kitchen countertops so we are going out to get some info on that today, and I need to pick up a couple things at Sam's. I also would like to make a trip to Greenville this weekend sometime to look at DSW for new shoes for work.
However, I do plan to be watching my Gamecocks play Georgia at 3:30. I try to keep my expectations low, but hoping for a good showing at least.
Looks like Florence could be a serious threat to the coast -- definitely keeping an eye on that, with DMIL & DH's siblings near Charleston, and my sister & family, also DS#2, in eastern NC.
Have a good day, y'all ~

Just passing through waving. I'm picking a friend up in a while to drive to the spring to refill my jugs. I've gone through a lot of water in this hot weather. The spring water tastes so much better than filtering my city water that it's worth it.
I may stop on the way at the farm stands to see what they have. Lots of veggies are at their peak right now, especially the sweet peppers.
Got to get going. Have a nice day, all.

Good morning. 52 this morning and filtered sun through the clouds. Had a fun day with Annabelle yesterday. She has quite a personality. I did manage to get out and work on the dry creek bed for a while but didn't get as much done as I would have liked. Got about 3 more feet but that is better than nothing. Someday I may get it finished. Our forecast is up in the air for the next couple of day. One weather app is giving frost warning for tonight in the area but showing 39 for the low and the other is showing 43 for tonight and 35 for the low tomorrow night. I doubt that I will l get a frost here, however 39 is too low for my Boston fern and the croutons. Hadn't planned on bringing them in just yet but have too. One crouton and the fern are real heavy. Have managed to get the fern in already am resting before I tackle the big crouton. I do need to get a move on. Need to be to work at 2. Have to moved the rest of the plants in and a I need to cut my hair. It looked terrible all last weekend, but with working 30 hours last weekend there wasn't much time for a haircut.
Have a great day.

I emptied 2 of my planters this morning outside. They were looking terrible. The geraniums did not look so good this year. So next year will get a different plant to put in them. The other flowers were pretty in with them so they are gone! I still have 2 planters of Gerber daisies still blooming and plant Chuck's bought when FIL passed and only thing serving in it is the sweet potato vine. But will wait awhile to get rid of it. It was cooler and good day to do it.
Did get my bedding washed and back on the bed and load of towels washed and a small blanket I had folded on my dryer that Red loves to sleep on so washed that. I had put some tomatoes on it to ripen and one started to seep so needed washed.
Guy is coming today to see us about tiling and how much we need to do. Told Jeff so he will be around when he comes. Jeff knows where it stays wet and how much to do.
Elza the pumpkin bread sounds good. I usually have some in freezer but it is gone so need to make other ones and get stocked up for winter. Goes good with coffee.
Hope everyone stays safe with all those storms going through the south and up the coast. So much flooding has gone on and feel so sorry for all of them.
Have a great week-end.

Hi friends! I hope it's a good Saturday for everyone. We slept in, lazed around then went to Subway for a sandwich, and I get the groceries I need for a pasta salad and oatmeal cake to take to church tomorrow. Supper will be a Schwan's frozen entrée of chicken Florentine.
It has been sunny here all day and is still quite warm. It did barely sprinkle on us while we were out this morning.
I think we are either going to call or go by and see the lady with the house for sale. We talked the situation over and I don't think we are going to make an offer. At least not now. DH does not know how much longer he wants to work here. They are working on putting in 7 new sites, with it going up to 11 eventually, and DH does not think he wants to be in charge of maintenance after that. He already is run ragged with everything there is to do. Ever since we left her place I have had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I just do not feel totally comfortable with agreeing to buy her home.
Decisions, decisions!
DH saw a hummingbird earlier but we did not have nectar in the feeder, so I boiled up some nectar real quick and let it cool. DH filled the feeders, so hopefully the birds will spot it and come around.
Have a good weekend.

G'day, friends! It's been a partly sunny and cool day. Right now the temps are going down, and overnight temperatures will get into the 40's. Yippee!!!!! I pulled out some warmer clothing for the morning! Tonight DH is grilling an Aldi boneless leg of lamb that I marinated in red wine and Penzey's Greek seasoning. I made a fruit and nut and Feta mixed grains pilaf and will steam brussies to go with it. Just passing through; will be back tomorrow. Waving!

Hi all. I've been running errands in this heat and humidity and tired myself out. Cannot take the heat like I used to. I took a nap when I got home and then felt better. I'll have a rehash of last nite's supper and call it good. Enjoy your Saturday nite!

Hello all.
It's so hot here. I am late today. We watched UCLA lose earlier and then we ran errands. DH and I are going out to dinner and the girls are having Chick Fil A.
Tammy, it's so hard to make a decision like you are facing.
Tomorrow DS, DDIL and Poppy are coming over to watch football. My team is playing early.
Waving to all.

Tammy, let your gut be your guide, I noticed your hesitation early on in your post....Beware of buying older mobiles, even though you plan to pay cash, you may decide at some point to sell. Most people need a loan to buy. Lenders will rarely make a loan on older mobiles and most mobile parks won't allow them to be moved in. IMHO, you might want to keep looking..... Cheers, Doris

Hello friends--waving to all!
Both last night and again this evening we had heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and strong winds. Yesterday we had gone out to the storage place and as we came up our driveway, down it came. We couldn't even get out of the truck for 45 minutes--it was terrible. Our neighbor thought something was wrong that we didn't even make a run for it, but neither DH or I felt like getting wet. Then when it was all over, the power was out for another two hours. Luckily tonight we were in the house and didn't loose power, but wow, what a strong storm it was again.
Went up to Tampa this morning to BJ's--the store there is much larger and has a much better selection then our store when it comes to meat. When I came home I went over to Publix while DH cut the yard. Afterwards we went out together to check out the new Amish market about 20 miles north of us. Big place and we got a good deal on ribs and chicken legs. I just got that freezer down where I wanted it to be and DH is filling it back up. I had to tell him that's it, no more until we empty it again.
Dinner was chicken breasts, sweet potato, zucchini, and summer squash.
Didn't sleep well. My alert to school jobs went off 10 times overnight with offers. Yikes, talk about active! I want the jobs, but I wish it was not active in the overnight hours. Seemed like I just fell asleep and there was a "ding" to offer another job. Woke up with a headache and not in the best of moods having my sleep interrupted so many times. Hoping tonight I can get a better night of rest--that's where I'm headed now. Goodnight.
