Good morning friends.
Welcome to the world baby Poppy! Congratulations to all you Betsy.
Last night we had spaghetti and meatballs. Oldest DD will be gone most of the day and probably wont be home until late. Maybe the rest of us will eat our or order something.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning.
Thank you all for the congratulations. Poppy is doing well. We are hoping they get to go home today. DDIL had an infection before birth (thanks to the hospital). So they had said she may need to stay until Sunday. We will see what the dr. says today. I need to try to figure out to post a picture here. I can't figure it out so far. I am on Facebook if anyone is on there I can add you. Maybe message me through here.
We had such a tough few days before Poppy was born that I only had few hours of sleep. DDIL was in agony and the hospital kept sending her home. That is one of the reasons she now has an infection. It was wonderful to get some sleep last night.
Not sure I will cook today. Depends on if they get to leave or not.
Waving to you all.
Betsy

Betsy, that is terrible that DDIL has an infection and was in so much pain before Poppy was born. :'( Glad to hear that Poppy is doing well, though. Praying for healing for her mama and that she can come home ASAP! Sending you a message re: FB.
Good morning, Nancy! It's a beautiful day here -- cool and sunny right now, only into the 80s this afternoon. DH is out cutting grass and I'm planning to spend most of the day at home, cleaning house and doing laundry.
I will need to make a quick run to the store today as I need to make ice cream for a church social tomorrow night. I like to mix it up and put it in the canister the day before so everything gets good and chilled before churning. I'm pulling out an old recipe I haven't made in a long time, for Mexican Chocolate ice cream -- made with Hershey's syrup and flavored with cinnamon and vanilla & almond extracts. First I have to make sure the ice cream churn still works, though -- it was a wedding present from DH's coworkers so it's 35 years old!

Hello everyone--waving to all!
I was up at 4:30; did 2 hours of biking, saw a beautiful sunrise, went grocery shopping, packed away what needed to be, cut up what needed so, cooked the meat for dinner tonight (taco salads), and did the bedding. DH went to donate blood earlier and just finished the yard work. We'll have a late lunch and then we'll go over to Verizon re: some problems I am having with my phone. From there we need to stop at Lucky's for produce. I don't know what's going on right now at Publix, but I've not seen just poor quality as I did today--very disappointed.
DH is out of shower and ready to eat, so I'll exit here and hopefully talk with you again later.

Welcome Poppy and congratulations to all of you. Sorry DDIL had problems before birth and lots of sleep lost. Some times the hospitals can test us that is for sure. Hopefully she can get home and settled in and be comfortable.
I just straightened up my house and did a load of my everyday clothes and put my CPAP in cleaner to try it out. It takes 2hrs. to go through the cleaning. Hope it helps on the running nose!! Now that it is nice and hot I can go out and mow!! I cleaned up mower so they could look at it but they did not come. Maybe they don't want to trade??
Everyone have a great I will fold clothes in dryer and hit the lawn mower for next 2 hours!!

Good Afternoon ! Betsy, sure hope things are improving for DDIL and she can get home and in a normal routine. Can't wait to see photos!
Elza, that sounds like delicious ice cream. I just may need that recipe. We don't have an ice cream churn anymore but DH brought a very small contraption from MIL's hose that is supposed to be an ice cream maker.
Marlene, I need to do laundry today since I did none during the week.
We got up and headed over to the Care center for pancakes. DH thought it sounded good, and it was quite good. No lunch for us. We will be going over to the town of Liberty and meeting 2 couples from Houston that we used to go to church with. We are going to Ann's Seafood. They have pretty good food. The inside reminds me of a 50's style diner, and they have lots of knick knacks, stuffed animals, and a book shelf to look at. Luckily they do have things besides seafood.
After breakfast we headed to town and while DH got his hair cut I shopped for groceries for the pot luck tomorrow. I will make calico beans, they are cooking the Instant Pot which is set to slow cook. Also I will bake a pineapple upside down cake in a Bundt pan. That is a scratch recipe.
I took my computer over to Helen's last night and we got the forms printed that she needs to claim the money that is being held. The 2 insurance payments totaled about $1600.00!! On Monday she is going to go over to the Care Center and get the papers notarized and get them in the mail. You fill out part of the info online but you also have to print hard copies and mail them in with photo ID.
Better get busy baking, (yeah) but also get the laundry done(frowning). Just happy for modern electric appliances!

What a fabulous storm we've had for the last couple of hours. Lots of rain, too. Loved it! I went out briefly for some crusty bread and fresh veggies. Got home just as the raindrops started. I'm having a baked pork chop and roasted potatoes for supper. After supper I'll have a look at last nite's TIVO's. If nothing there, I'll read awhile or play solitaire. I didn't sleep well last nite so it could be early to bed. We'll see. Sweet dreams.

Hi, everyone! It's been another banner day. Nasty weather is returning late tomorrow through Wednesday. Our local schools started last week, and already they have announced "early dismissal" for Mon-Wednesday. That has never happened before !!! Tonight DH is making pork tenderloin medallions with Dijon pan sauce. I'm steaming Aldi's kale and quinoa blend and some broccoli florets. Spent a quiet day. Betsy - I sent you a message about postimg.org. Have a great evening everyone! Waving!

Betsy, lovely photo, so nice to see you holding sweet baby Poppy with your DS at your side. I do hope DDIL is feeling much better and the infection is under control. Getting everyone out of the hospital is a good thing. I hope all of you can get some rest and things can get down to a low roar. To Matt...stay safe.
Chris, nice that you and DH could get out and have a great day....should be a great stress reliever.
Marlene, How are the twin GD's......saw your post re: their Colorado trip...seems there had been some injuries before and/or during the trip....hope all is well by now and they are 100% again. I do hope they had a great time. I am sure that DS and DDIL have surveyed their running routes for safety in view of the horrible Mollie Tibbetts murder.....too bad Iowa no longer has the death penalty.
Cheers to All, Doris
