Elza, Do you like your new coffee pot?
Lori & Helen, So sorry to hear that the red tide is still continuing :'( .
Looked at the new circular for Shop-Rite today and read the words "Labor Day Savings". Summer is coming to an end .
Tomorrow the girls and I are going for hair cuts and youngest dd is getting hi-lites.
Not sure what I'm cooking for dinner tonight.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning Nancy and all to follow. Today is National Sponge Cake Day.
Nancy, our Red Tide has been going on almost a year now (November), but it was not bad in the beginning. This morning another dolphin and two turtles has washed ashore. We are also now seeing the sea birds starting to have problems. How strong the smell is depends on the wind direction. Forecasters said this morning we'll get a few days break with winds hopefully soon coming from the east and blowing everything out into the gulf. When the winds shift again, it will be back, but right now even a few days is better then nothing. The drippy nose, itchy eyes, sore throat, coughing, and headaches have really been a pain the last few days.
Was hoping to see news on Poppy, but I guess she's not ready yet to make her entrance into the world just yet. I'll check back later.
Not much happening here today so I'll just wave hello to all and wish you a great day.
Dinner this evening will be Apricot Chicken, mashed potatoes, and cauliflower.

Good afternoon friends.
I, too was looking for the Poppy news! Maybe on Sunday at the next full moon!
Lori- I have been seeing a lot about your red tide. So sad all the wildlife being killed off.
Nancy- I need to go have my gray covered again and I may just get highlights also. What color is she getting. I like a red highlight. We are thinking of going camping for labor day. I usually do.

Afternoon, friends! It's a blissfully beautiful summer day...just right! I had lunch with my friend today. We went to a family restaurant that had just reopened after renovations. The finished product is really nice...nothing fancy, but comfortable. I had the most delicious Ruben sandwich...very, very tender corned beef, fresh, not too sour sauerkraut, swiss cheese and 1000-Island dressing on grilled rye. What I especially liked about it was that it was not "drippy"!!! I won't have much, but lamb shepherds pie and a chopped salad is on the menu tonight. My friend and her husband are leaving for St. Augustine on Sunday and will be there until November. They are planning on moving permanently there next year. I'll miss her!!! Chris - I used to highlight my hair when I was in college. Now I'm just naturally mostly gray! Where are you thinking on going camping? Lori - My friend's daughter and family live in the Sarasota area; she said that the "stink" goes far inland. Just awful! Nancy - I still feel a "twinge" of anticipation over school restarting at this time of the year. The students in Lawrence started full days yesterday. Poor kids; it's going to be hot and humid all next week. We are going to be w/o water for 8 hours tomorrow. I have to get set ups for my mom. The worst of it will be the brown water that comes out of the faucets and into the toilets after it gets turned back on. Have a great evening, everyone! Waving!

Had a Eye appt. this morning so left here around 8:00 and had breakfast at my favorite place and 2 hours at eye Dr. He had 2 emergency's so got long but I was doing fine and pressure was 16-17 so he was very happy. Then bought a dehumidifier and could not believe the price of them! Then went to town here and priced new lawnmower and they will look at mine maybe tomorrow. Then went and bought a cleaner for my CPAP machine. Wow are they expensive too. So came home and think better stay here for awhile!!
It has looked like rain all day but nothing happened. I also bought a new lamp as switch broke on the one I had. I paid 5.99 for last one and painted it and now had to throw it away!! Shade was $20 so kept that!! It was a bargain but not now!
Well better get out my lawnmower and try to shine it up a little so it looks better. It has grass all over it. So will take the leaf blower then hose to it. Better take old lamp to dumpster and get to doing it.

Popping back in to see if there was any Poppy news, but I see none as of yet.
Ann, your lunch today sounds so good--one of my favorite sandwiches.
Chris, camping sounds like a fun way to spend Labor Day weekend. DH is planning on continuing with painting--it's been awhile and we need to get going with it once again.
Marlene, sounds as you've been on the run all day. You mentioned they will look at your lawnmower maybe tomorrow--will you be trading it in for a new model or selling it?
Made a pasta and bean salad this afternoon. Picked up a kindergarten position for tomorrow at the school just minutes from my house. Time to get dinner on the table.

I just couldn't get going today. I read and napped and not much else. Supper was a bowl of chili mac. Hit the spot. Hugs to all.

Hi ! I am late tonight. I was busy this morning working at the resale until 2 then came home and napped! I hardly slept last night and woke at 3:30 (again) so got up and did a puzzle online.
Supper is almost ready. We are having baked salmon, mashed cauliflower casserole (Green Giant) (hope it's good). Also some cottage cheese.
There is a show on our local PBS station showing groups from the 60's that appeared on the Ed Sullivan show so we are watching that.
Sorry that Poppy did not make her presence known earlier today.
Waving to all!

Tammy, I am later! Had to share the wonderful dinner I just had. One of our co-workers at the bank is leaving to take another position so we had a farewell dinner at Grits and Groceries, a wonderful little restaurant out in the middle of nowhere in Anderson County. They only serve dinner on Thursday nights, the rest of the week it's breakfast & lunch. I had an appetizer of fried grits with tomato gravy, followed by a fried pork chop with peach BBQ sauce, served with cheese grits and succotash. For dessert, chocolate Coca-Cola cake with ginger-plum ice cream on the side. Just wonderful.

Now you have me drooling, Elza ( and I don't even like grits!!!).
And I'm even later than you and Tammy 🙄 . It was a busy day arranging a place to do our canning as our regular kitchen had some water issues. It all worked out and we made some more goodies for the auxiliary sale.
I grabbed a salad for supper while hubby was golfing.
