Happy Friday, everybody! We had a really nice time at the game last night, especially since we got free tickets! As DH was getting in line to buy them, a lady came up and asked if we needed tickets, and how many. She owns a business and buys season tickets every year. She said she normally gives them to customers, but if they don't get given away she just brings them with her to the stadium to give away. So we ended up with 3 tickets right behind home plate! It was a hot night, with no breeze, but we were in the shade so that helped. I had Chick-Fil-A for dinner, followed up by a Cheerwine float. That hit the spot.
Today we are getting new (to us) furniture delivered at work -- another branch in the area is being completely remodeled so our manager went over there to "shop" for pieces for our branch. We're getting chairs, 2 sofas (a nice leather one for the lobby and a comfy one for the break room), a larger check-writing stand, and a new desk for the manager's office. So she told us to wear jeans today since we'll be moving things around.
For tonight, I have chicken breasts with Mama's homemade BBQ sauce in the crockpot.
Hoping to hear some baby news this weekend, from Betsy's DDIL and from my niece, who is scheduled to be induced today.

Good morning Elza. Thanks for starting us off today. How nice to be given free tickets for the game - and good ones at that🙂
Dull and dismal this morning. It was raining when we got up and I was going to cancel my golf game this morning. It has been dry for the last 90 minutes or so so I will head to the course and see what happens when I get there.
Sounds like we might hear of 2 babies over the weekend! Does your niece know whether it's a boy or a girl?
Have a great day and I will check back in later.

Good morning all.
Elza, thank you for starting us. I've never had Cheerwine but I know my dh would love it. Nice you are getting new furniture for your branch. Best wishes to your niece. That is exciting news!
Tasty, hope you were able to get your golf game in today.
No news on baby here. My son is going to work OT the next few days unless Poppy says otherwise.
Not sure what dinner will be. Last night we had leftovers. I am trying to keep it simple.
Have a great day.
Betsy

Good morning, all.
Chris--You must be worn out. Hope things will smooth out for you soon so that you'll have a bit of time to chat.
I've lost track of just how many babies we're waiting for here. Nerve wracking but fun! I'll echo Tasty's question: Do we know whether they are boys or girls?
Tasty--dull, wet and dismal here, too, but it's clearing off a bit after raining most of the morning. They are promising an 80% chance of more this afternoon with possible strong storms. I can deal with the rain but the strong storms are not welcome! Hope you got some golf in!
I took the last of the country pork ribs that I did in the Instant Pot and froze them last week. Yesterday, I warmed them up in the microwave, shredded them, and added BBQ sauce for pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was tender and juicy so I think the 26 minutes cooking time I used was spot on. I've made a note of that for future reference. Supper tonight will be another pulled pork sandwich with corn on the cob.
Have a good day, everybody.

Good morning friends.
Sunny and warm here this morning.
I think I'll give DH the leftover pork chops with hot peppers and onions for dinner. The girls and I will eat whatever we feel like tonight.
Betsy, Can't wait to hear about Poppy's arrival.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Stopping in to say hello and going out to mow lawn. I have been to town and signed papers, delivered a check and picked few things up just in case I am cooking for my son. Who knows how long he will stay?
Hope you all have a great day will get back if I have time later.

Good Afternoon ! It sounds like everyone is having a nice day so far.
I am a happy camper....the guys got here at 11:50 and got the new ac unit installed in less than an hour. It is quite cool in here now!
DH had to run into town for a doctor's appointment so I came home after working at the resale shop and just snacked on a granola bar for lunch. I plan on fixing an early supper. I am finally making the turkey pot pie.
I am also finishing laundry that did not get done yesterday.
I am going to make my grocery list for things I need for Sunday. It is baked potato day so I may pick up a large bag of bacon bits to serve with them, I will also make deviled eggs and éclair cake.
Waving to all! Keep cool.

Good afternoon friends. Today is National Vanilla Custard Day.
Just checking in on the baby watch between Betsy and Elza. Hope we'll heard some exciting news yet today.
With no call for work today, I went earlier this morning to the Amish Farm Market where I got a deal on deli cheese and eggs. After doing a few loads of laundry, I was out the door to Publix to pick up a few things for the week. Now getting ready to run over to BJ's to gas up the truck, pick up yogurt, and who knows what else.
Another very warm day, currently 93*, with a feel like of 105*--no rain at this time in sight to cool us off.
Dinner this evening will be leftovers--Italian Zucchini Pie.
Take care, waving to all.

I ran some errands today -- started with another patch for the Bug's flat tire. Turns out the other patch failed so they're trying a different one. As Gilda said, it's always something. It was stifling out today. I couldn't get home to the AC quick enough! I'm not hungry yet for supper so will sip my V8 and have some cheese and crackers later. Hope there is baby news soon in our little neighborhood. Sweet dreams will come sooner rather than later for me tonite. :)

My new great-niece Verity Reese arrived this evening, 8 lbs. 8 oz.! Can't wait to see pictures. Her big sister Magnolia is not quite 2 so my niece is going to be a very busy mama.
