Today is National Banana Split Day and National S'mores Day.
Later this morning I will be going to get my hair highlighted. Although I really want/need a haircut, I am trying my hardest to resist. I am going through this stage once again where I want to grow my hair out a bit longer. My last haircut was in early May and it's at this point now where it looks messy as it is growing out. In the past when I try to grow it out, I do well to a certain point and then can't stand it any longer and go get it chopped off. It would be a lot easier if I was a handy person with the hair, but that's not my forte, so we'll see in time if the hair or I win out.
For dinner this evening I was planning to have leftover burgers and potatoes, but DH got up this morning and had dinner for his breakfast. Now I might just have to change my plans.
Currently 82*, it's going to be another another hot and humid day.
Waving to all!

Good Morning ! I am off very soon to work at the resale shop. I will come home for about an hour then go with a group to attend a lunch at a local Mexican place. Leftovers are the plan for supper. We have turkey and also roast beef. Which ever one DH does not have for lunch will be supper.
Good luck with the hair situation, Lori. I go next Monday to get mine cut.

Good luck on the hair cut Lori. I thought when I quit work I would let mine grow. I just keep getting it cut every four weeks. It is to easy to take care of. I go next Tuesday. I am really get white haired everyone tells me it is so pretty. So I let it go as I used to get mine highlighted but don't do that anymore.
Pat will be coming to dust and vacuum today. I have the washer going only have 2 loads to do so won't take long. I did some earlier in the week. Just got the bed made and picked up shoes in bedroom. I have a habit of kicking off shoes and not putting them in shoe rack so done that too.
I really think maybe I don't get my hose and face mask cleaned enough for the cpap so I ordered a unit to clean it. There is something why I never get over this runny nose. I am so tired of it. I see commercials that maybe you don't get them clean enough with dish soap and water so will spend the money and get one. They are not cheap so will see if it helps. I ordered from store in town that sells all the health things and they do not carry it but could order it. The lady who stocks there things told them they are not necessary. My youngest DD and DSIL have one and love it. So will see.
When the grass gets dry will be out there mowing today.
Have a great day today!

Good morning friends.
I forgot to mention that while we were on vacation, my niece had her 2nd baby. He was due in August but came a week early. We knew it was a boy but they didn't reveal his name until after he was born. His name is William John.
Betsy, So exciting the Poppy will be here soon.
Yesterday youngest DD and I went to the beach with my friend and her daughter. Both kids are best friends. I do love my time at the ocean.
I plan on stopping by the library today as I'm almost finished with a book titled "When We Found Home" by Susan Mallery.
No cooking tonight. We'll either order something or eat out somewhere.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Afternoon, friends! The humidity has backed off a bit, but it's still pretty hot out there. I had the windows open early this morning, but now the AC is on low. Refrigerator got delivered a little bit ago. Now have to wait a couple of hours before we can move stuff into it. Tonight we are having fish cake sandwiches with The Kitchn's Magic Summer Sauce (yogurt, Dijon & Sriracha), and cauliflower salad. Marlene - Glad you like your ring; it sounds so pretty! Chris - Our neighbor took his three boys camping at John Boyd Thacher State Park in NY. Said it was fantastic...newly updated b'rooms and showers, lots to do, and inexpensive. State Park From here, he said it took him 4 hours to get there so maybe it's closer to you. You can have my share of HHH!!! And I'm sure Birdy would be glad to give hers!!!! LOL Elza - Are you doing anything special with your boys this weekend? Betsy - Hope your visit to the doctor went OK. Nancy - I like the beach, too, but I prefer it in spring and fall better. We have passes for a whale watch out of Rye, NH that we are thinking of taking after Labor Day. William John is a beautiful name! Congrats to your niece and family! Lori - LOL on DH eating supper for breakfast. We like that kind of breakfast, too!!! Anything is up for grabs in the kitchen fridge as far as leftovers go, but if I want to serve it again for supper, I move it down to the cellar fridge. That red tide is nasty. A friend from Ft. Pierce sent me an informative video on why it is happening...the main crux are the farms that have replaced the ecosystem in central Florida. Yesterday, I mentioned that TOH has two recipes for German hamburgers. My nana used to make them with milk soaked rolls, but according to my German cookbook one calls for a plain mashed potato as binder. Those are fried in onion flavored oil and served with the onions. Sounds good! Have a great day everyone! Waving!

It was very hot and humid while I was out running errands this afternoon but I just went to the lanai to bring the cushions in and it had cooled down considerably. Probably has something to do with the dark sky that has moved in. Anybody remember a coke float? Arby's has been advertising them and caught my interest. I stopped on the way home to try one. It was delicious! I am not hungry at all now so will scrounge up something later. I need a haircut, too. Hopefully I'll get to it next week. Your ring sounds precious, Marlene. I'm so glad you got exactly what you wanted. Have a good weekend, all. Sweet dreams.

I was just thinking of a root beer float Helen. Gosh we used to have floats all the time. I bet you are missing your DD too. After they go home there is a void. I can't believe the pretty ring I had made. It is Gorgeous!! That sapphire in the middle of 4 diamonds just sets it off. The one diamond is over 100 years old. That must of been MIL Great Grandma. Jeweler said its old the way the sides are made whatever that means??
Pat got the cleaning done. I had three new pair of shoes that just fit her so she was happy. She is a nice lady. Like to help her out.
I made some dill pickles wrapped in cream cheese on dried beef and they are sliced in a container. Also made chocolate Chip bars with cream cheese, sugar and egg filling and chocolate chip cookies dropped all over the top. So easy to make. all the recipes except one are from Betty Crocker. Going to make a lemon one, Rice krispie w/ peanut butter cup in between layers, and Special K bar with choc. and butterscotch topping. Will do these tomorrow.
Now I am going out in the heat and mow and not looking forward to it. Will water the flowers also. This 90's weather is so hard on everything and me!!!

No special plans with the guys, Ann, just going to relax this evening and watch a movie. Tammy and Lori, I got a haircut last week and it was just a little bit too short. Scheduling conflicts meant I will go 5 weeks before my next one but I think that will actually work out well. Marlene, I wish I could see your ring! It sounds beautiful. Nancy, I just picked up a couple of books from the library. I won't have a lot of time to read this weekend, but I don't mind that right now. Helen, I've been seeing those Coke float ads too. We used to have those all the time when I was growing up and now I'm wanting one again. The last time we went to a baseball game, I saw that the ice cream place there has floats with several different soft drinks so the next time we're there I might have to try a Cheerwine float!

The Care center serves root beer floats every Friday afternoon. I usually don't go ( I forget) but I think DH does get one most of the time.
I am still not hungry and asked DH. He had the leftover roast beef for lunch and so far he is not really hungry for supper either, so I guess I will wait awhile before reheating anything.
Houston is getting some rain but I think it is all going to miss us.

Glad you're happy with the way your ring turned out, Marlene. It sounds very pretty. Just make sure you wear it rather than leaving it in the drawer, or wherever you keep it. Mum gave me all her rings just before she moved into the retirement home. Her bone structure is much finer than mine so none of them fit me and it was only a couple of months ago that I took a couple of them in to have them sized. Now I have her ruby ring and her sapphire ring that I can wear and do wear occassionally! Most of the others are probably not worth spending the money on.
We finally had the ratatouille and it was good. Have quite a few more eggplants coming and tonight I picked green beans for supper as well. I do love the veggies straight from the garden.

Hello again friends.
I did not get my hair cut today--I won! LOL! I just got highlights throughout my hair--nothing bright and bold, just looks like I've sat out in the sun this summer. This is the 1st time I had this gal do anything to my hair other then the perm I got back in March. I was pleased with how nice the perm was so I decided to try her this time with the highlights. She did a nice job and I'm happy with it, so I will go back to to her when I need it again.
After I came home and had some lunch, I ended up going to BJ's for a few items. Dropped them off and went back out the other direction and went to Lucky's for my fruits and vegetables.
Never made it to Publix for my groceries, so hope to do that tomorrow morning after I check out a new to me Farmers Market. Sweet dreams friends.
