Starting us off.
Today is the WI craft fair - one of the biggest around and always big, and bustling, and fun! I shall spend the afternoon there and then when I get home, hubby will be golfing so an easy supper for me. There are some leftover veggies in the frig so I might just make an omelet and use them up.
Have a wonderful day.

Tasty, that sounds like fun. I love browsing at craft and art fairs.
I really, really need to get to the grocery store and get back to some meal planning, especially with the DSs coming next week. I get off early today so may try to do that, in addition to getting my hair cut. The problem has been that pretty much every afternoon this week, we have had heavy rain. Oh well. I'm almost out of coffee cream so that is a powerful motivation to get to the store!

Good morning friends.
Tasty, Sounds like a fun day of shopping.
Betsy, Does DDIL speak Spanish? I bet the aroma coming from you kitchen is amazing with all the cooking you've been doing for the shower.
I never did bbq the chicken legs. My niece is here so I will ask her if she likes that. If so, I think I'll make that with fettuccini alfredo and string beans. Will have to eat a bit earlier since they have to leave for the concert.
Enjoy your day.

Morning! We got the watering done early today. The day will get progressively more humid and hot with the index up to 100°. Ick! I'm just warming up leftovers tonight. I have some pork tenderloin thawing for Saturday's Pork Stroganoff. We may make a trial run to the Winchester Country Club where we are to attend a 50th wedding anniversary celebration. We are not "posh" folks so I hope it's not going to be something too fancy...! We're also going to the farm stand and grocery store. Otherwise, we are focusing on staying cool!!! Waving! PS Betsy, I sent you a message.

Have been back up to the folks house still taking things out. Came home for lunch and need to go back and vacuum and house is done. Jeff came and helped load everything that was left. Bless Chuck and Jeff don't know what I would have done without them. How can you repay good friends for what they do for you? Linda said I fix them enough food but forget that its worth so much more to me.
Will maybe get back on here if I can later. Need to get sandwich and back up there.

Hello all.
I have been busy baking while the internet provider was here upgrading us. Since I work from home I like to have decent wifi and they come out with a faster service I am all in.
Nancy, yes, ddil speaks spanish. She only speaks spanish to her mom. She is fluent in Spanish and English but she was born in CA. I believe her mom is from Mexico City.
Ann, oh my gosh. Sorry, I will go look at my messages.
No idea what is for dinner. I think I may use up the rest of the turkey and make sandwiches. I have to say the Instapot turned out an amazing turkey breast. Everyone loved it. So moist. Too bad dd did not get a video of me while it was cooking. I was convinced it would explode.
Have a great night.

Marlene, I know you will be happy to have that job behind you. Rest every chance you get.
I just got home from playing bunco. It's always fun. I am on the sub list but get called on often during the summer to fill in.
Nothing much going on today. I am doing laundry, and this morning I baked some chocolate cinnamon bread. It goes in the freezer until next week.
Tonight we leave at 4:30 to go downtown to a restaurant. Not sure what I am in the mood for. They asked DH to drive the bus. Since we go so early, we will be back home fairly early too.
Still hot and dry here but we have a 40% chance of rain on Sat and Sun. Then it drops to 30% on Mon - Thu. Hope we get some.
Have a nice evening!

Hello friends. Today was National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.
Crazy day here. About a mile from the house construction workers hit an underground line. The pressure/gas built up and spread in every direction. We did have to evacuate for a very short time, maybe 45 minutes, but all is well now.
The big news however for our county continues to be the red tide (toxic algae bloom) we are dealing with. It has been something we've had in years past, but this year seems to be the worst since I've lived down in Florida and unfortunately, it is not getting any better since May. In humans it causes itchy, burning eyes and a nagging cough. People with respiratory conditions have a rougher time. The smell is unreal, so strong and nasty due to the marine life it kills. The smell is usually right at the beach, not inland, but the other day, thanks to the way the wind was blowing, the smell we as far in as 10 miles from the beach. Today at the beach nearest my home, if you can just imagine, 16 tons of fish were removed from the beach where they have washed up. It not just little fish, but it is killing and washing up sea turtles, dolphins, manatees , and sharks too. As you might guess this has really hurt the beaches, which have been pretty much empty all summer. A few counties to the south of us also have this problem, but nothing to this degree. If you watch the World News, you might see something on this nightmare we are dealing with.
I need to go and finish dinner on the grill--hamburgers and corn on the cob. I've got the salad done and french fries ready for the oven. DH has work he needs to do on the computer this evening, so I'll talk to you again tomorrow.
Waving to all and wishing you a relaxing and peaceful evening.
Lori

The red tide has hit here, too, Lori. It's so destructive to sea life and unpleasant for us. I wonder how it will ever end? Another showing for the house today. Well, I should say there was an appointment for a showing but they canceled at the very last minute. DD and I went out for lunch and then I got a cute new purse at Vera Bradley's outlet store. Those outlets are always packed. I almost never go and during Season, it's unthinkable. We had roasted chicken, corn, and lima beans for supper. The thunder is keeping me company as the day winds down. Some solitaire, then sleep. Sweet dreams.

Good evening to everybody. I was able to leave work early today, run a couple of errands, and get my hair cut, before coming home to fix a quick dinner of spaghetti with meat sauce. Pretty happy about having a productive afternoon.
