Good morning friends. Never made it here yesterday so thought I'd check in early this morning.
According to the news this morning it is National Hot Dog Day, however, I thought they said that yesterday morning (unless they were just talking about it).
We ended up going out for dinner on Tuesday. DH and I got the Southwest Chicken Wrap. DH had eaten it before and raved about it so I thought I'd like it. He loves it, but I found it to be just okay-a bit spicy for me and messy to the point where everything was falling out of the wrap. In the future when we go to the place I'll be ordering something else.
Tuesday planned dinner was last night--Roasted Tomatoes over Pasta and a salad. Fresh apricots for dessert. No idea what we'll be eating this evening.
Waving to all and wishing each of you a great day! Lori

If there is one thing that I absolutely hate, it's a sandwich that's falling all over the place. I have had some that were so bad that you had to eat it with a knife and fork. I really don't want to wear my meal! LOL! I know that this one diner where I go often is aware of this problem with one of their sandwiches because I complained to the waitress and she said that they get a lot of complaints about it. Then change it, for heavens sake! It was down in the 40's around here last night. The air is desert dry according to our TV weather person. It feels so good after the sauna we've had for the last week. In fact, up in the mountains at Saranac Lake the overnight temp was 36! In July! Crazy! Along with the dry air, the pollen has come back. I'm sneezing like crazy this morning. I have a painting class today so tonight's supper will be pot roast and gravy from the freezer. I've been trying to clear out some of the freezer stuff before filling it again! Last night, I made a sandwich with pan-seared shaved steak which was absolutely delicious. It's the first time I've tried this, mostly because they pack the meat in portions too large for one serving and it has been previously frozen. I'm assuming that I shouldn't refreeze it once thawed. Yesterday, I found a package that was reasonable for a supper sandwich. Sometime, I may try to ask the meat counter people if they will portion out a smaller amount for me. Have a good day, folks. Good morning friends.
Lori, Everyday should be hot dog day IMO lol.
Birdy, Yikes! that's quite cold for July. However, a few years back when we went to the Adirondaks it was freezing on the 4th of July. Sat by the lake wrapped in a blanket with my teeth chattering.
Elza, Good thing there wasn't a fire and the a/c guy located the problem.
Chicken parm sounds good to me tonight.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Well it is cloudy again but no rain. I think I will run to jewelry store this morning. They want me to look at two sapphires and choose the one I want to put with 4 diamonds. Need few things to make more jam also.
Mark and Kim emailed and they want to go for supper. Told them I would make reservations and this time I am paying. I had been thinking of them and thought about calling them and she emailed me.
Took Chuck into get Jason's pick-up yesterday. He had it worked on while he was with Boy Scouts out in NE. His oldest just went from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and Jason is a leader. The youngest is in Cub Scouts too. The boys are sure growing up. Stopped at Farmers Market and got few little tomatoes and a squash.
I got up and feeling so tired this morning. Feel like I did not sleep to good. So will be a long day.

Wow, it is so early and lots of folks have posted already! Even me. I did not take a sleeping pill of any kind so woke up early and decided to go ahead and get up-it was close to 5 a.m.. I baked the chocolate cookies while it was still cool. Our bedroom ac decided to not work yesterday. I noticed it seemed warm up there, and then DH checked it and it was not cooling. He turned it off. At his bedtime I noticed there was a huge wet spot on the bed-it was the ac dripping. We kept it off all night and it is working ok this morning. He thinks it froze up. He is going to call the manufacturer since it is only about 3 months old.
I have to tell you guys something interesting. At the lunch yesterday one girl talked about claiming some money from an insurance policy that was due her parents. They have both passed away. The sisters were able to claim the $5,000. I have seen news reports about unclaimed money so went to our state website. I found $61.00 that was due to our son. I found $738.00 for my bff's son. It was fun searching, for me so I just kept typing in names. I also clicked on the national site. It is missingmoney dot com. I never found money for us but I did find some for a couple of friends, and I found Helen's name there. I am going out to see her in a little while so will mention it to her. Please go and type in your name as it may be well worth it!
I am playing bunco this afternoon from 1-3. Not sure about supper but I know that I have lots of the Mexican lasagna left that needs to be used up. We liked the filling but the noodles were not great. You did not cook them, you just poured hot water on them and let them soak 30 minutes. that was not enough to soften them much. If I make this again I will either cook the noodles, or I will use tortillas.
Have a great day and stay cool-or warm as the case may be!

Hello, friends! It's a great day here...warm and dry! Enjoying it very much! Not much happening today. DH is making a moose pie for supper tonight. My contribution will be a charred broccoli, red onion, and cherry tomato salad. I found a white balsamic peach dressing at Aldi that I think I will use to dress it. Yes, do, go onto missingmoney.com! DH got stock and $400 that he "forgot" about after changing jobs. He invested the shares, and later cashed them in to pay for our new roof!!! It's definitely worth checking it out. Our local newspaper prints names twice a year. Waving!

I typed in Escapees while searching and I found a listing for $4,800 is due them! I stopped by the office and told them. I talked to Helen and she said there should be about $300.00 somewhere in Arizona or Ohio from a checking account. I was able to find it listed for her along with 4 other entries! Can't wait to tell her.

Tammy, my brother came across some money from an insurance policy on our deceased parents' from an online site a couple years ago. It took some paperwork and attorney fees but it was worth it. It's the real deal. DD made a home made pizza for us tonite for supper. I was assigned to cutting up the veggies. While we were out for lunch, I noticed my front tire seemed low. Was it ever -- almost flat. Luckily, we weren't far from the dealer. They found a big screw in the tire and were able to patch it. Took a lot of time but I was so grateful it was fixable. DD and I then went to Lowe's to get a few boxes to use for donations from the stuff we sort through. I am tired going in and out of the heat. Can't take it as well anymore. Sweet dreams.

The sandwich going all over the place reminded me of a turkey burger I had at a restaurant several years ago. The burger itself was very good but it was topped with sauteed mushrooms -- whole button mushrooms! It was like trying to eat a sandwich full of marbles -- one bite and they shot right out of there! Not somebody's best idea.
DH fixed frozen stuffed chicken breasts with corn and applesauce for our dinner. I'm looking forward to staying home this weekend and enjoying some down time, as well as getting housecleaning done. Right now I need to fold some laundry and work on music for Sunday.

I stopped at Subway and brought home sandwiches for lunch-mine was a meatball and it was a mess before I got finished! Like you said Elza, with every bite the meatballs shot out of the bun. I think I stuffed them back inside the bun about 5 times!
I reheated the lasagna for supper. The noodles are softer but still, I won't make the exact recipe again.
Good luck Helen. I know moving is exhausting!
