Good morning all.
The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Or maybe I should say the young birds are demanding food - they really are squaking loudly.
The heat and humidity is coming in today and will stay all w/e throughout our Canada Day festivities. The humidity is expected to be so bad, I heard talk of cancelling the huge concert on Parliameny Hill. Don't think it will be cancelled, but may be delayed til later. The temperature in Ottawa on July 1st is expected to be about 95 and feel like 113F. The crowds on the hill on Canada Day are always huge!
Today is the last Friday of the month so it is the day for breakfast with friends 🙂. We arehoping to be able to eat outside before the heat gets too bad.
Supper tonight will be whatever we can find in the fridge -maybe pulled pork and some salad.
Have a fabulous Friday 😊

Wow, Tasty. You folks are looking at the same weather we are. I'm not happy about it at all. Heat like this is one of the things I have trouble handling--give me cold weather instead. At least I can put on more layers to deal with it. There's just so far you can go taking them off for the heat, if you get my drift. LOL!
Lots of little tweetie birds here, too. Many demanding babies. No wonder the parents are beginning to look a little ragged.
Enjoy your breakfast with friends. I'm thinking about going out to eat today just so that I can sit in some air conditioning!
Have a good day.

Good morning friends. We are going to be HOT here for 10 straight days over 90! Unusual for us. Looking forward to going to Buttermilk Falls swimming. Really nice cool place.
Lori- I liked the looks of that recipe. Dan and I love anything with olives so I printed it off for him to make.
Tasty- Stay cool if you can. Enjoy your breakfast with your friends. We are going to the "Not Quite the Fourth" parade in Waterbury VT tomorrow. It is a lot of fun.
Birdy- I agree with going out to eat to get in AC! LOL We have AC for the first time in our home (our new heating system can do AC) But I am not an AC person so DH says i can stay out side he will use it! Yeah Right! We are supposed to be over 100 on Sunday! I will bite the bullet and be in the AC! LOL

Good morning. Just a quick stop this morning. 61 and sunny. To be a beautiful day. I need to get next door and get it cleaned for guests arriving this afternoo for a week. Just waiting for the owner to leave so he isn't in my way. I need to get the cleaning done before my kids arrive for the day. Not sure what time they will be here.
Have a great day.

My cleaning lady will be coming today. As soon as the mail arrives I will go to town. I am hoping the mail will come with MIL death certificates. I don't know why he mailed them they are just in town. The bank wants a copy. I think the ASC office will want a copy also. I also have a check that came from the pre-pay plan at the funeral home to put in the bank. They did not use all the money so got a rebate of it.
It is to be terrible today going to be in the 100's!! Chris can not imagine not having air conditioning. If I had nothing else I would have that. Trying to sleep when it is hot would be terrible. I keep mine on 78 and use the ceiling fans and it is comfortable. I don't like to freeze but want to be comfortable.
I am going to make a Pineapple Pretzel Fluff from TOH. I am going to do a chicken recipe with stuffed Mozzarella and try it tomorrow. The two sound good together. Also going to make a chicken stir fry w/mushrooms and broccoli.
Hope you all will stay in where it is cooler.

Good morning friends.
Looks like most of us are in for the heat wave for several days! I don't like it that hot.
I need to go out and buy a bathing suit today. Also, oldest DD needs to get a birthday gift for a party tomorrow.
I didn't make the chicken last night. Youngest DD asked if we could order pizza and that sounded good to me. I'll grill the chicken tonight. I don't want to turn on the oven.
Enjoy your day.

Good afternoon friends. Per the local news, today is National Almond Buttercrunch Day.
I had my early morning coffee today out on my driveway, along with about 10 neighbors. When DH was leaving for work at 5:30, there they were sitting in lawn chairs behind his truck. I wasn't aware that there was even something going up this morning, but they said there was at 5:42. Everyone moved so DH could go onto work, I went inside for my coffee, and minutes later we cheered as the sky took on a beautiful glow. Spoke to DH later and he got to see it too just as he pulled into the parking lot at work.
My first stop this morning was at the Amish Farm Market to get eggs. I wanted some fruit, but it all looked like it was on it's last leg. Next I went over to Publix and picked up some groceries. Once again, the fruit looked like it had seen better days. That is not uncommon this time of year due to the heat and humidity. Will be going over to BJ's and Winn Dixie later this afternoon to pick up a few sale items, so I'll look at their fruit.
Birdy and Tasty, DH and I split a mini loaf of each of your blueberry breads this morning--yum, yum, yum is all I can say! I am very excited that I'll be able to share all the baked goods I've been making with family and friends.
We have had rain showers, thunder, and gusty winds off and on all morning. Another round is moving in now and the lightning too. We need the rain, so no complaints here. As for the heat, we are actually cooler then many of you today, currently just 82*. If the clouds lift we may see 90*, but radar shows strong storms for several more hours. I know many of you are not use to the excessive heat like we normally have here in Florida, so be careful, stay safe, drink lots of water, and keep cool any way you can!
I will pick something up for dinner tonight while out.

Oh, dear, Lori. I may have to make some of that bread. I can almost taste it right now!
Sorry to be so dense, but what was happening at 5:42 this morning?
They are expecting that we will be 100+ this weekend in places. This is far above what we usually see during the summer. Depressing since I love to be outdoors birding and enjoying nature. Too hot for that for a number of days from the looks of it. No rain in the forecast for quite a while, too.
I'm starting an outdoor landscape painting class on July 10. It's twice a week for 4 weeks. When it is super hot like this, we stay in the studio to paint. That's disappointing since I love painting on location. Fingers crossed that we don't have a hot, stormy summer this year. Five years ago, our painting class ended up inside almost half the time. Once when the class was outdoors, a tornado popped up and passed within 5 miles of the location. Not something I'd like to repeat this year.
I'm thinking of going to my favorite Greek restaurant for supper tonight--it's air conditioned! LOL.

Birdy, you aren't dense (be nice to yourself)--but probably it's maybe just something you don't pay much attention to not living in Florida.
This morning SpaceX Falcon 9 launched a used cargo ship to the Space Station. It will arrive early Monday. Some launches we aren't able to see here on the west coast due to clouds, but this morning it lit up the sky and was breathtaking to say the least. For several years DH and I lived on the east coast approx. 30 miles from the launch site and that was really something--windows in the house and dishes in the cupboards rattled something fierce. I can only imagine the feeling of the ground shaking under your feet if you are even closer.

Great to hear from you Elaine!
I had a successful shopping trip at Kohls today. Two pairs of shorts, 2 tops, pajamas, a bathing suit and then another bathing suit top to go with my bathing suit bottoms and a pocket book.
Planned on relaxing by watching some t.v. this afternoon but the cable isn't working. I've unplugged the box, restarted it and checked for loose cables and still nothing. Called Comcast but I got a recording that said "due to high call volume, we cannot except your call at this time, please try your call again later". Ugh! must be something on their end. Well at least the internet is working.

Hello, friends! Day 1 of a heat wave. Not bad in the house so far. I've been drinking a lot of water (and enjoying the rest of my iced coffee!). Just finished slicing assorted peppers that I will roast (or sauté) closer to the 4th. I'm moving on to the Vidalia onions before I stop. DH brought home a pizza, and I made a Greek salad for dinner tonight. Lori - That must have a "wicked" good sight; I remember going out and looking at the space station as it flew across the sky...waaaaay up there! Nancy - Ugh on Comcast! We have a choice between Verizon and Comcast so we get marginally better service because of the competition. Those in NH, just over the border, only has Comcast so they are up a creek when it comes to service! Good score at Kohls! Birdy - I still have a picture of one of your paintings...so wonderful. You are very talented. Hope you get your wish to have lots of days outside! Elaine - Good to see you! Tammy - Glad that you arrived safely. Marlene - Your cooking always sounds so good especially that pineapple dessert. Tasty - Hope you enjoyed your friends' gathering. Did you get to eat outside? Time to cut the onions...waving! Have a cool evening!
