It seems that lately I have not been very creative with meals. I have basically the same thing week after week. I just sat down and made a list of all the entrees, one pot meals etc. that I haven't had in over 2 months. At this point I have a list of 40 and still haven't listed everything. I am sure more will come to me. The sinful thing is I can make everyone of them from the freezer and pantry with minimal shopping of bread, eggs and fresh vegetables. This is without taking inventory of what is in the freezers which I need to do.
This list doesn't include any of the meals that I have made and packaged up or any of the many soups that I have canned. Think it is time to get into the groove and start making a menu again. I always cook from what is in the pantry and freezer but just haven't been making various things.

Bet, think you were the one who said you like to cube rump roasts for different recipes. I used one yesterday for Beef Burgundy in my Ninja Cooker...was very good. Thanks for the suggestion.

Pippin, you are welcome. I love to cook and am not afraid to try most anything. If you can read with a recipe you can cook anything you want. Well I say that but I can't make pie crust. LOL

I've found that the weather can make a big difference when it comes to cooking. With the cooler days I find I enjoy planning a nice all day slow cooking meal, just something about it being chilly outside and cozy and homey inside.
Oh, if you figure out how to make a good pie crust, please pass it along. I gave up trying. Marie Callender makes mine. She's good at it too.

I think we all go through slumps , Bet. Summer time and especially the hot weather we've had this year, doesn't encourage most people to spend much time in the kitchen. I find on a cold wintery day I am much more inclined to want to spend time making tummy- warming stews and soups, comforting breads, maybe even a few cookies.
I know that once our son's wedding is over, I am going to be ready to search out some new recipes as well as some old favourites. Have lots of ideas, just need the time and the weather to co-operate.
You have been so busy this summer with working, gardening, looking after GGkids as well as setting up several forums here on Proboards, I'm surprised you've had time to think about cooking.

I think that's one reason I don't like to cook, its seems like its the same things over and over. I need to sit down and do some thinking for some new things.

I am not much of a cook...love cookbooks and recipes, but not too successful! Guess that is why summer is good for me...salads, cool soups, outdoor grilling, etc. Now it is fall with winter approaching and that means to me cooking for real!!
