Good morning CC friends
It is nice weather here so far. Looking forward to see some old friends from the TOH BB today. I will try to get pictures this time! I forgot my camera but will use the phone and figure out how to transfer them when I get home.
Had a decent breakfast this morning Pumpkin Waffles. There is a great Outlet Mall across the street from the Comfort Inn I am at and will shop there aft the meet and greet.
Nancy- My DH loves Yankee Candle. He like the make your own candle! The wax place where you can do your hands.! LOL He is a fun guy!
I am not sure where I will eat supper tonight. Some good choices here. I did the Eat and Park (name should be Park and Eat) last night and had a great Rosemary Chicken! Was surprisingly good. Baby carrots and mashed potato that was real not instant! LOL
Have a great day Tammy, what ever you do today in the Vermont Countryside!
Lori- Hope you are having a great time!
Hope everyone else has a fantastic day too!
Chris (already had a Starbucks!!! )

Good morning friends.
Got so comfortable (okay, lazy too) after shower and dinner, we never went out for a walk or ice cream. Watched a little tv then I called it an early night--left DH engrossed in Star Wars.
Had breakfast and enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee. We'll be headed over to the pool in just a few minutes. Going to be another hot day--92*. We'll lunch poolside with some salads, sun and swim until about 5, then return home.
Dinner tonight will be seafood at Cape May. As you know, I'm not really into seafood, but for some reason or another, I like going here. We usually go here once a year for our wedding anniversary in June, but were not able to get reservations this year.
DH needs to use the computer right now, so I'll say have a great day! Lori

Good morning. 40 and another beautiful sunny day here. After yesterday the 40 doesn't seem that bad. We had rain yesterday morning before daybreak. By 11:30 yesterday morning the temperature had dropped to 52 where it stayed for the entire day. It was overcast and very damp. I spent a good portion of the day moving plants into the greenhouse. I guess I hit the panic button as it was to clear last night and I expected the temperature would really drop then. How I ever got over 30 hanging baskets and large potted plants into an 6'X8' greenhouse that was quite full to start with I will never know. Then the heater and the fan. I do know I can't even get my big toe in there. Fortunately by Monday, I will be able to move a lot of things back out and the next move will be into there winter home. I also have spent time in the shop working on the lighting system for out there and also planning a bird feeding station for winter which I hope to build today and get put up on the deck.
Last night I had chili which I had canned a while ago and made Johnny cake to go with it only I baked it in cast iron muffin pans rather than a cast iron skillet. They turned out really good and I will freeze what it leftover.
Don't know about tonight. Haven't heard from DS as to who is cooking this weekend yet. It is his turn but time will tell. I haven't seen Addison in 2 weeks so I am sure we will have dinner together either tonight or tomorrow night.
Chris, sounds like you are having a great time. Enjoy.
Have a great day.

Good Morning Everybody!
I have no idea what's on the menu today.....I'm thinking I should hang the "Kitchen Closed" sign today. I don't feel like cooking, but I DID order some cookie cutters and if they showed up today, I'll definitely be in the kitchen this afternoon! LOL If I knew how to post a pic on here, I'd post one, but I don't, so I won't. 😕
Today I'll be spending my day finishing up housework & laundry and taking Gwen (my very elderly neighbor), to get a flu shot. I SHOULD be sewing, but I just can't seem to get in the mood. I'd better get in it quick as the craft show is in mid-November and the only thing I'd be bringing at this point is myself. 😮
I hope you all have a wonderful day today. Nothing but clouds and storms tonight here. Ugh.

Good Saturday morning to everyone. The weather is suppose to be hot and humid today with rain tonight, but it will be cool and rainy tomorrow. I think it might be time for a nice pot of soup of some kind tomorrow.
Chris it sounds like you are having a fun time already and the fun is just beginning. Have a great time at the mall and don't spend your money all in one place-- spread it around-LOL. I just love going to bath and body works, I can't walk out of there without buying something. You said your husband was a fun guy but I think you are a fun woman that enjoy's life.I wish you the best day ever!!
I started this awhile ago but meanwhile I got two phone calls and I like to take time and talk to them. I figure if you don't take the time for them they will quit calling. Nothing exciting going on at my place today that is ok with me. I think I will watch some cooking shows today and just enjoy the day. I hope everyone will have a good day and a nice week-end. I know Chris will- can't wait to hear about her day.

Hello Paulette it is so good to see you and hear what you are up to these days. What kind of cookie cutters did you get or should I say what shape are they? I have to go get my flu shot soon but will probably be some time this next week before I do. I was at the heart doctor on Thursday but they don't give the flu shots there. I couldn't believe that the heart doctor's office doesn't give the flu shot, but they want me to get one. What are they thinking??? Have a great day.

Hey Miss P! So good to "see" your smiling words! Bwhahaha! I am in PA right now meeting with some of the BBers. Probably our last one. Save me some cookies if you make them today! I did see where you were having a LOT of rain! Hope the flooding is not near you! Your gonna need web feet soon! Stay dry! I too need to get sewing when I get back home!
Sara- I do not get the flu shot anymore. My Dr recommended the pneumonia shot instead. Lasts for 10 years. The flu shot he told me is not very effective as it is usually for last years strain. So I am due for a pneumonia shot this year again. I have noticed a great difference with it. And I have chronic Asthma! And yep! Gonna have a blast in a few minutes!!!

Morning everyone! I was up with the canaries this morning! Way too early, for sure & will likely feel like a nap later! We had rain during the night & again quite a downpour awhile ago. It's going to be a cool day.
Nice to see you pop in, Paulette! Hard to imagine that you have time to sew for the craft sale considering the hours you put in at work. Such a good neighbour your are taking Gwen for her flu shot. Posting pictures here is quite easy using the direct link from where you have your pics uploaded & inserting the link in the icon to the right of the envelope at the top right. Give it a try!
Wow! How nice to be just across the street from the outlet mall, Chris! You're in for a fun day meeting everyone for lunch and then shopping till you drop! Have a blast! Yes, please on the pictures!
Bet, what a worker you are! No grass grows under your feet! Hopefully your son is cooking this weekend so that you can sit down & catch your breath!
Enjoy the pool, Lori! Sounds like the perfect way to spend a hot afternoon.
Sara, glad you could get all caught up on the news with your friends on the phone. Now, you can do as little as you like for the rest of the day. That pot of soup will hit the spot!
Sure hope I haven't forgotten anyone. Sorry if I did. Have a great day!

Looks like everyone has their day planned. I just washed my bedding, and made a Chocolate Zucchini cake in a bundt pan and another one in 9x13 pan. Also bagged up 15 cups of zucchini for the freezer after using 5 cups in cakes. I told Mark 1 zucchini and he brought two big ones and smaller one! The one in 9x13 will get the Penuche frosting. One has mini chocolate chips and dried cranberries and other one has a bag of the chocolate chips with cherry in them. See which one taste the best.
Will clean in my utility room today and have a junk drawer sorted out and bought a fishing container that has all the dividers in it to put screws etc. in and another for my tools in house. So hope I get my two junk drawers cleaned out as one of the cupboards are going to Goodwill and other one is going to burn pile. It is a microwave cart I have in a closet and Chuck is going to make me shelves in there this winter when he can't do anything else. It is made out of the cheap wood and does not look good and will help the burn pile we made off the house! It is terrible to get these junk drawers and they are going bye-bye.
So you know what I will be doing today while Chris is enjoying her time with BB'ers and the mall. Was so nice to see you pop in Paulette! We sure miss you. How in the world are you going to get the sewing done for craft fair and working too? Sounds like long days.
Have a nice week-end just seen few sprinkles on the windows.

Chris, I used to sell commercially years ago. Had 3 huge heated greenhouses but now it is just for me.
Have finally decided on dinner tonight. After making a list of all the many things I haven't cooked in ages decided on tuna melt on homemade English muffins. Probably will have some soup to go with it. WE will see on the next trip to the basement. I do want to pull a piece of beef to thaw so I can get it brining to make corn beef.
Marlene, I have a large work shop at the back of my garage that is heated so can go out there year around but I got tired of making the trip every time I needed a tool so went and bought myself an upright toolbox on wheels. It wasn't that expensive at Walmart. Now I have a hammer, sets of screw drivers and wrenches, a cordless electric drill and numerous small things like screws etc. in there and not more trips to the shop every time I want to do something.

Good Saturday, folks! It's crisp fall day...windows open...heavenly. Been cooking all morning. Put a volunteer field editor "challenge" in the crockpot. I used bone-in chicken thighs instead of boneless, kept the seeds in the jalapeno peppers because we love spicy food, and cooked it for 4 hours instead of the recommended 5-6 hours. I took the chicken out of the sauce, and when cooled, boned them and returned them to the sauce. Folks were remarking that the chicken came out dry and the sauce's flavor was "blah". No wonder...it was just cooked too long and the boneless thighs just shriveled up and died!!! With the bone in, the chicken stayed moist and was completely done when I tested each piece with an instant read thermometer. The sauce has peanut butter, coconut milk, jalapenos, garlic, crushed tomatoes, onion, brown sugar, cumin, salt and pepper...absolutely delicious. Will carefully rewarm portions and serve it with homemade black rice a roni and steamed broccoli. I had 12 ounces of coconut milk left so I froze it in ice cube trays and popped the cubes into a freezer bag when frozen. Couldn't stand to throw it away. I also finished step one in making piccalilli...ingredients are chopped and brining until tomorrow morning. I cooked it last time; maybe I will just make the pickling liquid and keep it raw. Since Bill eats most of it, I'll see what he wants. [He's off helping his friend hunt deer with a bow.] Bet - I like making my own corned beef. I also like sauerbraten. I'd like to try corning a pork loin sometime, but I keep forgetting!!! Your supper sounds great. I was watching The Kitchen and it was all about using pantry staples...one star made tuna meatballs! Looked interesting. Another made flash roasted "clean out the fridge" vegetables. TOH has a delicious multi-grain English muffin recipe that I made one time. Wonderful English Muffins I'm a rebel...I kept them square!!! Nancy - Hope you got inspiration at the market!!! Do you have to work harder on weekends now with stuff you'd normally do weekdays before you started working? Chris - LOL You are in heaven! Starbucks...outlet mall...have fun!!! Paulette - Good to you! You can add pictures using photobucket just like TOH required. [If that's a help!!!] Sara - Will get flu shot when I see my PCP in October. Had the pneumonia shot last year. There is some talk at the senior center about a "new" pneumonia shot that is better than the one I got. I will ask the doctor what she thinks. Angela - Bill had to get up at 3:30 to get ready. I got up and cooked him breakfast. I cooked scrambled eggs (2) for him the way Chris Kimball did on a his Milk Street Kitchen post on FB. He heated 2 tablespoons olive oil until it was just smoking, added the eggs, salt & pepper. Cooked fast. I reminded me of when I cook scrambled in hot bacon fat sometimes. Love that flavor better!!!! LOL Marlene - You put me to shame with all of the cleaning and organizing you do!!! Ever try the zucchini to make a crust for pizza? Yummy. Zucchini Crust Pizza I went a step further with the instructions...lightly salted it and let it drain then wrung it out in a clean towel. Lori - Enjoy your dinner tonight. Is it at the Cape May Café? If yes, the menu looks interesting. If yes, do you have a favorite dish? Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Waving!!!
