Good Evening ! We took a day trip down to Massachusetts to see the BRIDGE OF FLOWERS. It was gorgeous, and a pretty day for an outing. we also stopped to get gas a little country store. The lady inside told us about the Yankee Candle Factory store that was nearby and we also stopped at the Butterfly factory as she called it. I think the real name was Magic Wings. They have a conservatory with lots of butterflies flying around. There were also some birds, and some frogs, bearded dragons, and other creepy things like beetles.
On the way back we drove through historic Deerfield.
We stopped for lunch at a diner, and at the little store I bought some ham and some eggs, and we will make a Dutch dish for dinner-uitsmeijters-which is just an open face ham, egg, and cheese sandwich.
Where does magnabay live? Just wondering, as I don't remember her saying.
Well we leave New Hampshire tomorrow and head to southern Vermont for a week.
The movie was very good last night. A lot happened and it happened fast so I need to watch it again to catch what I missed. Lots of plot twists and turns.
Talked to DS and he said DGD is doing well and she will go back to school on Monday.
Lori, I will pray for wisdom for you in dealing with the heart diagnosis.
A couple cute things that I've seen on facebook.....".It's the first day of fall in Texas, so you know what that means.....NOTHING ! It's still hot!" And this one...."Some days it takes me all day to accomplish nothing!".

Finally decided on dinner. Just pulled a homemade TV dinner with Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and buttered carrots. Later I am thinking of making a chocolate mug cake.

We actually had a little bit cooler temps today for the first day of fall -- although it's back to the high 80s for the weekend. But the weatherman is promising cooler weather next week and I hope he is right this time.
Zatarain's to the rescue for tonight's dinner: red beans & rice with diced ham. Then I'm making the peanut butter cup brownies to take to work tomorrow. Of course DH will have to give an opinion on whether they're any good or not! ;)
Jan, we are not in the Charlotte area but not far from it. You are right, we moved about 4 years ago from Kentucky back home to South Carolina. We live in the Upstate, in Anderson, not far from Greenville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte. It has been a bad situation there and everyone involved needs our prayers.

Hi! Just a quick visit here today to see what everyone is up to. Nothing exciting here but still the day managed to slip by. It's a been a fairly nice sunny day. Too bad it takes till mid-afternoon to warm up! We did get some windows done & still the very tall ones to go which are a much bigger task. It would be nice if they could be avoided but no one wants to be looking at dirty windows all winter! 😊
Tammy, Magna lives in British Columbia along the Shuswap Lake. What an awful experience to live through & now the cleanup/repairs.

Thanks for answering my question, Angela. I was thinking Canada but could not remember for sure. Isn't that unusual for a tornado to occur in that area? We are originally from Oklahoma and so are familiar with those nasty tornados. In fact, we lived for 5 years in Moore,, OK which has been hard hit twice with huge tornados, but luckily we had moved on to Texas. The bad tornado of 1999 hit about 6 blocks from where we used to live. The school that our oldest son attended for 1 year was destroyed in the second bad tornado a few years ago.
I forgot to mention that we got a call today from the Tennessee Natural Wildlife Refuge and our application was accepted. So, we will be working there next July and August, not September, but they want us back in October. Not sure what we will do yet in September, but that's a long ways off yet so we have time to decide.
Oh, Marlene, sorry about MIL's fall. Glad she is ok.
DH says that it will only be about an hour and a half drive tomorrow, so I might try to go and get a haircut after we arrive. I have not had it cut since May!!

There's always Ontario for September, Tammy.
Marlene, how scary for you this afternoon. Glad MIL wasn't hurt.
Brownies always need a good taste-tester, Elza.
We finally had the steaks tonight with a pepper sauce, a few French fries and green beans.
