Good morning friends.
I shall type with color orange today for the first day of fall :) . My favorite season.
Sara, Sorry for the mix up as to where you live.
Chris, I pretty much have my routine down now.
Tasty, You mentioned beef stroganoff yesterday. We haven't had that in a long time.
Bet, Enjoy the weather while you can. Before you know it we'll all be freezing.
Kay, I mentioned deep dish pizza yesterday because I thought Sara lived in Illinois. I want to get to Chicago for some "real" deep dish pizza.
Marlene, Mr. M. must've had a fight the other night as there were two thick pieces of cat fur on my porch :o that were not his! He won as he didn't have a scratch on him.
Sheir, I'm so sorry to hear about the damage to your home. Hugs to you my friend.
Lori, Your sausage peppers and onions sound good too! . As for the Fall/Harvest festival, I have to check when that is. I haven't seen the signs yet.
Elza, Yes, you do have some nice restaurants near you. You make my mouth water every time you mention what you've eaten!
I must run for now. I'm in the mood for a good juicy cheeseburger for dinner tonight. I'll have hot dogs too if that's what anyone else wants.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good morning. 53 and another beautiful sunny day to hit 80 again today. Kept busy yesterday but didn't get as much done as I wanted. It seems I spend more time thinking about what I want to do rather than doing it. Did get the dozen patio tomatoes dumped and their pots ready to put away. Also did quite a bit of cleaning up on the deck. Also did 3 loads of laundry that I need to finish today.
Today I will spend more time out there deciding what I am going to do before Saturday night. We are suppose to be 35 Sunday morning. Since the low temps are only for 2 nights I may just put the heat on in the greenhouse for those to nights. I am just not ready to move everything in yet. I will get the most tender plants in. I do need to clean next door sometime today. Have runners coming in early tomorrow for the annual Marathon here in town this weekend.
I so want to get back to cooking. Making breads etc. but need to keep plugging away outside right now.
Have a great day.
Bet

Nancy I was wondering about Mr. M . glad he is doing good and winning his battles! Red got one of his big long tooth knocked out in the last fight. I am assuming that is what happened. It is gone anyway.
Bet sounds to me like you do a lot of work! The greenhouse would be nice way to keep plants but expensive to run to. My Mums are so pretty here hope they last for quite awhile yet.
I am taking MIL to eye Dr. today so wonder what he will say when she says I can't see. They don't put the drops in like they are suppose to ay Assisted Living. I gave the sheet of times but they ignore that. She has not been there for a year. Will talk to you later I hope.

Good Thursday Morning CCers!
Nancy- Glad Mr M is winning! LOL Wonder who the loser was! LOL A cheeseburger sounds delish! Might have to have one for lunch seeing as how my supper will be very late today!
Bet- I am with you! I seem to spend more time thinking than doing! Bwhahaha! Oh well if the HC's didn't keep calling my name!
Marlene- I wonder how you can get the nursing home to follow the times for the drops. Bet you can't! Good luck today in many ways!! ((((Mar)))
Well this is the favorite Deli town. Nancy has me going with that cheeseburger but I really did enjoy that hot dog last week! > Decisions decisions! What do I have?? Hummm I will have to have another HC to think about it! Chris (running, not walking to the milk container for a cup to heat!)

Good morning all.
Good luck with MIL today Marlene. Hope all goes well.
I had wondered too about Mr Muffins Nancy. You haven't mentioned him in a while. I have to assume he has been keeping out if trouble (mostly, at least).
Bet, I don't know how you fit so much into your days. I thought I kept busy but . . .
It's been a very frustrating morning here trying to do stuff for Mum, long distance. 1/2 an hour on the phone to England with customer service and not much further forward. UGH!!!
The weather is gorgeous for the first day of fall. Makes me want to get outside and enjoy it. Hard to think that Open House for the curling club will be this weekend. Tonight I think we had best eat the steak I was going to use yesterday. Not sure what I'll do with it.

Oh, Chris, we were typing at the same time. You do have some tough decisions to make - you definitely need that extra HC ;) . Have a good lunch, whatever you decide!

Good morning to all.
Happy fall, Nancy. It is my favorite as well even though the change is ever so slight where we live. I miss the New England fall that I grew up with.
Bet, wow, your already about to get some cold temps. Hope it does not last and warms up. I agree, too early!
Marlene, hope your DR. appt with your MIL goes well. You are so good.
Chris, yum on your HC and your deli idea! How is the foliage in VT so far?
Tasty, I have those frustrating days trying to help my mother, too. It can be awfully hard. My mother is quite stubborn to boot.
Dinner will be meatball subs, salad and chips. Our football team is playing tonight.
I just love having our girls home on break.
Have a wonderful day.

Morning, all! Gorgeous day today. Started out in the high 50's, but now it's pushing 80. Have a crockpot of Aldi's turkey meatballs, peppers, and onions emitting a delicious aroma. Will use a portion to go with veggie lasagna rollups. The rest I'll freeze in portions for other days.
Made a delicious but UGLY corn and tomato salad yesterday. I wanted to make a basil/tomato vinaigrette to dress the salad. Mistake...red and green combine to make a MUD color...LOL. Didn't even snap a picture!
Tasty - Hope you get things settled for your Mum. Was that time on the phone costly? I saw your post with the chicken recipes...yum! Will put our favorite Chicken Tarragon on there soonest.
Have to go to the podiatrist in just over and hour...been lazy this morning so now have to take a shower. Waving to all. Will try to get back later.

Good afternoon. First day of Fall? Ha-ha! Not in Florida--it's currently 92* and feel like is 105*. Originally from Michigan, Fall was always my favorite season, but we only have two seasons here in Florida--hot and hotter!! Can you tell I'm tired of it and want cooler temps.? PLEASE send some this way!!
Had an appointment this morning for what I thought was going to be a simple routine check-up. My doctor/friend let me know the "real" results of my echo I had done last month--I do not have mitral valve prolapse but instead aortic stenosis, which will require surgery some time down the road. My plan is to get established with a cardiologist here in town within the next few months, and see what he has to say. Luckily, right now I am not having any major problems, but something I want to stay on top of since there are no meds that can help, only surgery.
No cooking here today. Laundry to finish up, then a "Uncle Mickey" visit is in the plans.

Made it back home!! I stopped in front of eye Dr. and had MIL stay in the car and I went into jewelry store to get the earrings. They aren't as easy to put on as I thought they would be. Told the gal I will try them but maybe back if they don't work good for me. It took 1 1/2 hrs. and we done in the eye place. She had a nose piece off her glasses so they put on new ones. When I got her out of car to go into office her hair needed to be combed down in back the "recliner" style was not for me! I had the walker with brakes on and she had ahold of it and I turned to put brush in car and she fell over with the walker!! I could pick her up and she was not hurt but man my heart skipped few beats When I seen her on the pavement. Only good things happen to me.......!!! Then she had to have bugles, grapes and melon to take back and so got Dad some cookies and cantaloupe. So all done for awhile!!
Lori I am sorry to hear you have some problems with the heart. I would find a good Cardiac doctor and see what is going on. All the tests are not bad I have had so many Catherization's (sp) but now so much easier going through the wrist. Else they always went through the groin and you have to lay still for 6 hrs. I did not like that, but had too many of those. Good luck to you my dear!!
Better go get the mail and see what there is. Red has had his pet and sound asleep for now!

((Marlene)), can only imagine how your heart was beating to find your MIL down on the ground. Glad she's ok and you too! Hopefully you don't have to make that trip again anytime soon.
Right now, I'm thinking I'll go see the heart specialist around January--just want to wait a few months until it cools down. I will call next week to set something up. Glad to hear the tests have gotten easier, but still no fun!
Ann, is Everett, Ma. near you? I got a thank you note in the mail today from my GF's DD for baby outfits I sent her.

Hi! Back from podiatrist; all better! Says it would be better if I visit every three months or so for follow up care because my nails are prone to ingrowing; Medicare pays so I will.
Lori - Hugs! It is absolutely amazing what cardiologists do now. Bill had a procedure, if you remember, to stop heart flutter. It was outpatient!!! He had both wrist and groin caths. Just had to take it easy for a while.
Marlene - I was right with you when you related your experience with your MIL...my mom is starting to fall. It's so scary. I wake up at night listening for a thump on our bedroom ceiling...the other night I dreamed a "thump", woke up, and wondered if it was real or not. Finally, went to check. All was quiet. You are so good and loyal. Your DH must be smiling down from Heaven.
Waving!

Hi everyone, I cant believe I watched Big Brother all summer and last night the new Survivor and the finale of BB were on from 8-11 pm and I fell sound asleep on the couch and woke just in time to see who won!!!!😳. Reality TV is my guilty pleasure, cant believe I invested all those hours and slept through both shows.
I had been up since 3:00am, suppose I needed my beauty sleep?!?😉 LOL. Thank goodness for "On Demand" so I can at least see the first Survivor. All these years I only missed one show, a finale shown on a different day and I forgot.
Warm again today, thought we were cooling today?...weather guessers, big teasers!! 😩
Betsy, I would like a little of your rain please. Sounds so good!! It looked sort of like we might get a little on Tuesday, but no such luck.
I never got around to the chicken pot pie a week or so ago so that is what I had last night. I added 1/2 bag of frozen defrosted pearl onions, however I am not sure if I liked the addition?....I didn't hate it at least so thats tonights dinner!
Nancy, how are you liking the new job. I'm so happy for you girl! I was going to ask about Mr. M but I read after posting.
(((Marlene))), they say time heals but no matter how long its been after a losing a loved one a picture, smell or saying can the my waterworks going. Your smart not to dwell, I am guilty of that. I admire your strength! Your back ramp sounds very nice. I really like brick and pavers. Always nice to get something new done to the house. I always say that my DH wouldn't recognize the house inside or out today if he could see it.
Sheri, so sorry you sustained so much damage! I have you and your neighbors in prayer. Glad your sense if humor was not affected. You made me laugh about the Wal Mart greeter! You all have the right frame of mind remembering that at least no one was hurt. As hard as it is "things" can be replaced, people cant!
annrms, the "Chicken in Coconut Peanut Sauce" sounds really good to me as is. The only suggestion might be a little toasted sesame oil maybe? (a little, like a 1/4- 1/2 tsp. goes a looong way). I love that stuff in Asian cooking.
Lori, that is really sweet of you taking home baked cookies to the shelter. Loved your sharing with the new teachers as well. Your a good woman with a kind heart. I knew this lady who would get whole chickens on sale and get day old bread from the Wonder Bread outlet (as soft as fresh). She made up chicken salad sandwiches and took them around to the homeless on her day off. Such a caring human! PS: I met her when she came out of an alley and broadsided my youngest son Cams pick up on the first day he drove to school for his senior year! She had no insurance but she made payments to us every week for a year to cover the repairs. I think about her from time to time and pray she is well!!!
Elza, had you on my mind watching the news at dinnertime last night. I sincerely hope all that rioting was nowhere near you or your work. I remember you moved so may have location mixed up? May be entirely wrong ?!? Since it was downtown they told people to stay home tomorrow and work from home.
Rambling on here as I often tend to do so I really should go fold my whites out of the dryer then vacuum the house. My hair is dripping wet from sweeping out front. Good way to ruin my hairdo!
Hope you all enjoy your day.
~Jan~

Marlene I csn only imagine how you felt when you saw your DMIL on the ground. Thank God all is ok. Those assisted care places dont care. I would put big signs taped over my husbands bed about his water intake and they still nearley drowned him twice. He had end stage renal failure snd congestive heart failure. Only reason he was in there is I could not lift him into a wheelchair to get to hemodialysis 3-4 times a week. They let my Mom's mouth get in such a mess she couldnt wear her teeth which really made her gums ache. Thank God neither one was there long!!! Im glad your DFIL is there with her. I agree your DH is smiling diwn on you. You are an amazing, loving DIL!!!
