I have already been talking with DH this morning. He is getting ready to dock in Dominican Republic. He is looking forward to getting off and walking on solid earth! LOL Was a bit of bad weather for the first day on his trip Saturday and on Sunday. They were not even allowed out on the outside decks because someone almost got blown off and they called a full code red! Course my DH has made a lot of jokes about it all.
I went to King Arthur Flour yesterday and had my lunch there and then Gelato in Hanover. Just to be out in the 55 degree weather! Supposed to be in the 60's today and lots of sun.
Hope everyone has a great day. Chris

Good morning friends.
Tasty, Congratulations and happy belated 50th wedding anniversary!
Tammy, Congrats to your DH and his team on coming in 5th out 300 for the brisket. If we ever meet up again I must try his brisket.
It was such a beautiful day here yesterday (finally). Sunny and in the 60's. I cleaned the living room and hall windows and put up the spring/summer curtains. All I have left to do are 2 bedrooms and the dining room.
Last night we had a bone in loin of pork. Tonight we're having steak.
Another day in the 60's.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good Morning ! I did not have plans today, then DH came in at 8 and woke me up and said Crystal wants me to drive Helen to an appt at 10. We leave at 10, actually.
Not sure where we are going or if we will go out for lunch afterwards. I am thawing chicken and hope Dh will grill it for supper along with some fried green tomatoes-DH said it was ok to pick a couple!
Cool this morning and should warm up to near 80. Have a great day!

Good morning. I am thinking of driving over to the hotel and visit. Otherwise it will be 11 before they get here. DH wants to go play shuffleboard.
Congratulations to your DH for placing 5th in the completion. That's a lot of challengers.
Chris- I hope your DH has smooth sailing the rest of the trip. That had to of been scary for that passenger.
NANCY- it sounds like you were busy yesterday with cleaning Windows. I bet it looks bright now with the spring Sun shining in.
Tamara- I hope you and Helen get lunch out.
My coffee is ready so I better get Louie outside. ELAINE

Afternoon, friends! It's a lovely, warm day here today. 'Bout time!! LOL Rather busy morning with going to the senior center and then to the grocery store. Got everything prepped and stored then went to Big Lots to purchase storage cubes for the TV room. We have a treadmill in the space now, but since we go to the senior center, we haven't used it in a number of years (except for putting "stuff" on it!!!) Tonight we are having some of the sauce I made with some stuffed manicotti that I got at Aldi, and an eggplant recipe that is in the senior center cookbook. Can't sit and chat at the moment. Sending waves to all!

Hi friends.
This has to be quick for now. I have to get dinner going (roasted tomato pasta and a salad). DH and I are going on no sleep today. Seems his DH went for a walk late yesterday and fell. Neighbors saw him on the ground and picked him up and carried him into the house. He told everyone he was fine so they left. Guess when he went to get up he could not. MIL called EMS and requested an ambulance to go to the hospital. FIL fractured his pelvis. They will keep him at the hospital until they transfer him to a rehab center where he could be for weeks to months. FIL is 93, never been ill or in a hospital, so this isn't going over well with him.
DH and I were up all night as we kept getting phone calls and trying to put all the pieces together. DH took the day off, but I had acceptedwork earlier in the evening, so I didn't have the heart to say now I wouldn't work because I didn't sleep. I went in, pushed myself all day, but now it is catching up quickly with me. I'm sure we'll be going to bed early tonight.
Waving to all. Lori

Oh my Lori, so sorry to read about FIL. I'll say a prayer for him, and that you both sleep well tonight.
I have the tomatoes sliced and draining, and my mouth is watering! I'll be sure to take a bite for you Chris.

Lori- So sorry about your FIL and you guys with no sleep. I know that feeling. Sleep well tonight. I too, will be saying a prayer for you all.
Tammy- you need to eat a whole sliced tomato for me! I am drooling just thinking about that! LOL They are my sure sign of summer!
I just took a long walk around a loop in our neighborhood (about a mile) and am sweating! Loving it!
Chris (just had a hotdog for supper!)

Been busy day here but my first thing has to be to say thank you for all the good wishes for our 50th. Quite the weekend!!
The weather has been glorious and we have both spent quite a bit of time working outside.
Supper tonight will be cabbage rolls (from the freezer) and broccoli.
Have a lovely evening and thank you all for your kind wishes.

We just had breakfast for dinner and it sure was good.
Lori, sorry to hear about your FIL. I know that is going to be hard.
Tammy, fried green tomatoes sound good! Enjoy some for me!
Chris, I love King Arthur Flour's recipes and would love to visit there. What did you have?
Nancy, I love the idea of switching out curtains, etc. for the spring and summer. I would love to get a lighter (in color and weight) bedspread for our room for the warm weather. Maybe one of these days I'll actually do it.
Elaine, hope you had a good visit with your sister today.
Ann, your treadmill made me think of our storage room off the garage. DH & I have talked about fixing it up as an exercise room, with a treadmill or elliptical machine, but first we have to get all of the DS's stuff out of there! One of these days, they will have their own homes and can get all their boxes out of hours -- I hope!
Tasty, I'm glad you had a nice day outside! We are still cloudy and gloomy and will probably have rain overnight and into tomorrow. The good thing is that it has cleared off a lot of the pollen.
Good to catch up with everybody here at the end of the day. Enjoy your evening, everybody ~
