Ann, yes I caught The Chew today. The monkey bread looked good, but I must say that I was surprised--didn't know it was a southern thing. I made monkey bread only once, many years ago. Placed a small cube of cream cheese in each quarter of biscuit. So good!! Maybe I'll try this new recipe from today once we cool down---or maybe I should say IF we ever cool down! Lori

Magnabay, , so sorry to read what happened to your home at the w/e. The good thing, as you said, is that no-one was hurt. Hope the insurance adjusters are good to deal with.

Hello friends! I hope it's been a good for all. Magnabay, I am so sorry for all the damage you received from the storm. I don't recall where you live. Good luck dealing with it all. I hope the adjusters are fair with you.
Chris, yes, we plan to visit the Bridge of Flowers. Maybe tomorrow, or possibly after we get over to southern Vermont. It looked to be an equal distance away.
Jan, I'm sorry you have so much trouble logging in. Sure hope the dr visit today helps you feel better. Thanks to you and all the others who have so faithful in wishing and praying good health for Brianna. I'm not sure if she plans on going to school Monday, or not. Probably so.
Ann, I remember you going to Job Lots in the past. We passed one yesterday so I stopped just to check it out. Only bought a birthday card for DS. It appears to be a lot like our Big Lots in Texas.
I bought a couple pieces of sirloin steak that we on sale yesterday so DH is going to grill that. I have it marinating now. Not sure about sides. DH wanted some cauliflower. Wile we were out, I stopped into a Walmart to get a copy of the dvd NOW YOU SEE ME 2, since we enjoyed the first movie so much. This Walmart does not carry any grocery items, so we came on home. I have a can of mixed veggies that I'll heat up and we have 1 hot dog bun left that I can make garlic bread with. We ate leftovers for lunch today.
Today we left after lunch and drove east. We visited Chesterfield Gorge-it was gorgeous. We stopped by Stonewall Farm. I don't think it is associated with Stonewall Kitchen. We also drove al around Spofford Lake.
It was so hot inside the RV when we got home that we turned the ac on. It was very warm here yesterday too, and I noticed the forecast said we will reach 85 tomorrow!
Going to go and check in on facebook now. Have a great evening !

Magnabay, so sorry to hear of the huge cleanup the storm left you. We lost part of our roof one year, and I still shudder remembering the cleanup. Hang in there.
Ann, what a good idea with the tortillas. I have some in refrig and am going to have them tomorrow. A cure for the soggy crust problem!
Tammy, you would think in would be cooler in Vermont by now.
Wilderness, my BIL is stuck in the same cookie rut. He can only eat oatmeal, and looks slightly shocked if you offer him anything else.
Betsy, I wish we had a Panera closer, although at times I'm tempted to drive the two hours.
Chris, I had a frozen hot chocolate today-does that count?
Tasty, I'm glad you re feeling better.
Lori, your dinner sounds really good. I can't imagine why I've never made it!

Finally decided on dinner. I am making homemade rice a roni with a fried ham steak. Only problem is I mae the rice a roni for the family a few weeks ago and have no idea where I got the recipe so it is back to square 1 as the first one I made was great.

So much for my plans for supper. When hubby came home from golf, he remembered/reminded me that he had a meeting to go to this evening and he had had lunch after golf. So, I had some haddock and peas with one of the twice baked potatoes I had made.
Maybe we'll have beef stroganoff tomorrow - or maybe not. Time will tell. Sometimes what sounds good today, doesn't sound so good tomorrow.
Have a good night all.

Kay, Panera is pretty yummy. I don't blame you for being tempted even with the long drive.
We finished painting DD's new room. Well, the walls. Need to paint the trim.
Dinner will be turkey chili, salad and Panera bread.
Have a great night.

Busy days all around!
Sheri, what a nightmare to have a tornado hit your home. I can't even imagine the frustration of trying to put your life and your house back together after that kind of damage. (((hugs))) and prayers for you --
Tasty, glad you are feeling better and hoping you will continue to improve!
DH & I met for dinner tonight at a local restaurant called the Earle St. Kitchen. For a small town, we have a lot of very nice restaurants and we enjoy them! He had meatloaf with goat cheese potato cakes, and I had a rosemary and beer roasted chicken over wild rice, with green beans. Half of mine came home with me so I will enjoy that for lunch tomorrow. Love me some leftovers!
I also stopped at the store to pick up ingredients for a new brownie recipe (http://cookiesandcups.com/peanut-butter-cup-crack-brownies/). Our manager sent the recipe to me on Facebook and has mentioned several times that it looks really good, so I am taking the hint. LOL I'll make them tomorrow night to have a special treat for Friday.

My supper tonight was hotdogs on the grill, broccoli in pasta with cheese sauce, applesauce and chips. Simple and quick. In low 80's today so good day to grill out.
Busy day vacuuming and working outside for a while and laundry in morning, too. Lots to do and can't get to it all...............

Magnabay, sorry to hear of your misfortune with your home. Glad nobody was injured and hopefully a good settlement from insurance so all can be fixed/replaced. Those storms go through so fast and damage is extensive in only a matter of minutes. Wishing you the best, and glad you could still use your sense of humor, too. Hoping all is taken care of in a matter of time.
