Good Friday morning friends. We are supposed to have a few days with decent temps coming our way so hopefully that will be a sign of spring for us. I didn't get up to much, still nursing my headache so just dilly dallied with the cupboard I started to clean out. I haven't found any treasures yet but you never know!!! Rick went and picked up Chinese, I picked at mine but I know Rick will eat it later today. Melissa, good to hear that your DH got home safely and I hope your appointment helped to settle your back down. You're so right, water can cause a big mess but your poor in-laws, septic has got to be the worse thing that can happen. Karen, I'm with you on the snow, hopefully we are all done with it. I hope your back is feeling better, take it easy and don't overdo. Gayle, you have lots of time to play outside, go and enjoy your family fish fry. Rick duct taped our dryer vent in place when it kept popping out, like Lily said, a bungee cord would work too. You asked about Tamara, thank you. I haven't talked about her lately because it's upsetting. It's just been 6 months since her kidney surgery so nothing else has been scheduled and won't be for quite a while. Her heart is acting up, she has worn the heart monitor 3 different times lately so that is a concern. She will be seeing her Cardiologist next month but even if they could do more surgery now they wouldn't because they would not want to put her out until this heart issued is figured out. Meanwhile the mass on her ovary has grown and has covered the other ovary and the 3 spots on her uterus are now masses. The thyroid hasn't changed so that's one good thing, they will probably leave that for last. My heart goes out to her. Again thanks for asking and please don't think you upset me talking about her, I appreciate your concern and everyone else as well. Charlene, good to hear that some of your snow melted, I hope the same for Kathy. I bet your plants enjoyed being outside for a while. You are right, Tamara doesn't need any more stress in her life. It's been DGS helping her, no help from Sonil. Hi Connie, how did your perm turn out? Lily, wonderful that you had company and how nice of her offering to take you for your toe surgery. Wishing everyone a great Friday, prayers for those in need.

Morning, Donna! Hope you are sleeping now and you’ll wake without the nasty headache. I’ve been up since 3:30, way too early and I’ll be all vegged out later though that isn’t good as it’s a busy day!
Thanks for letting us know how Tamara is doing. I had been wondering how things were going for her. What a time she is having and my heart goes out to you all. She certainly didn’t need the added stress of the water! Thank goodness her son is home to give a hand. Her hubby definitely needs a wake-up call!!!
Time for another cup of joe!

Good morning. I've been awake for a while and didn't really sleep well. I never do when I'm not at home in my own bed. I just managed to get DGD up so she could shower before school. She has to be there at 7:30. If not they have to go to the office and get a pass to class and be marked tardy. Seems a bit early and a bit extreme from my school days. My sons normally rode the bus until high school so they had to get up early also.
The play was great and DGD did a great job. She has a beautiful voice so maybe by the time she is in high school she will have more opportunities to use that talent.
After the play I went with youngest son and family out to eat and finally got to hold Silas for a few minutes. I hadn't held him yet since I was still sick when he was born. He is 2 weeks old today.
I had thought about visiting for a while today, but the oldest and their little ones that aren't in school plan to go to Carowinds for a while this morning. Youngest son's GF'S grandfather is coming to their house today to see the baby, and the 3 oldest girls have school. So I will spend a little time with the 2 that are here before heading home before lunch. There is so much to do there
Have a good day. Leslie

Good morning ! These weeks just fly right by. I was busy with inspections for a couple of days and showing apartments when I was free. I like being busy rather than sitting and reading a book. We are supposed to have milder weather this weekend. I sure hope so! My seedlings need sun. I have 2 shelves and I took off the light because the plants were to tall so I moved some to my other shelves. Swapping plants around. I had some bad news yesterday. My dad's brother passed away. He was found in his apartment last week. We just got news yesterday the police and cornerer never called. So dad and I went to the apartment to see if he had a will or papers from a lawyer. We found nothing yet but his financial papers. The weird thing about this is he hasn't talked to any of the family for 5-7 years. It's like he disowned us. Now dad and my yb get to help . I was wondering why thoughts of my grandmother came popping into my head most of the weekend. Now I know. Well I have to get going. Have a good day.

Good morning. 27 going to 55!! WooHoo!! I plan to spend time in the sun today. I sat on the deck yesterday afternoon and got some color. Felt so amazing. Everyone is so happy the weather seems to have finally made the switch to spring. Only a month late but better than never. People were wearing shorts and t shirts out and about yesterday. Crazy Minnesotans!! Ds had on shorts and a t shirt and heavy rubber boots that went to his knees while out doing some chores. It was a sight to behold! lol I absolutely need to get out and clean the south facing beds off. Its so early and I always worry about another cold snap, but there are spring bulbs coming up and they are buried under a mountain of dead plants and mulched leaves. Time for that to go. My back feels pretty good so I'll take some advil and put on some muscle rub before I go out and hope for the best.
Dd2 is staying home today. She complained of a sore throat yesterday morning but I made her go to school since they had the dare grad and it was a short day. She had a temp of 100.4 last night at supper, so guess she isn't faking it. I felt her this morning and she felt very hot. She said she was up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Poor kid.
Sandy-Sorry to hear about your uncle. Its sad you didn't find out sooner. I'm guessing he doesn't have any heirs if your dad and db are looking for wills, etc? I have several plants that are getting too tall for the lights as well. Have you tried your cold frame yet? Curious how you like it. I think I'll haul some plants out today when it warms up for a while just to start the process. My bee balm is really tall. I've been running a fan on the plants to help strengthen them. My cuttings could also spend the day outside.
Donna-I hope you awake headache free. Maybe its the change in season and pressure causing it. Sorry Tamara is still struggling and that her dh is such a dip stick!
Need to do dd1s hair so need to close. Have a good day.

Good morning. It is 17º here this morning, but the sun shining and a flock of geese flying over migrating north just made this morning seem not quite so cold....lol. I think we are supposed to get into the upper 40s again today and then the next few days will be 50s and even possibly one day in the lower 60s. That sounds more like Spring weather than what we've been having. Yay!! I have more plans of playing musical plants. Now that I have many of the large geraniums out of the GH there is room for seedlings that have been waiting patiently to move out there. If it gets warm enough this afternoon, I have plans of cleaning the front porch. If we see 60 next week, I will be sitting out there for sure. Donna...that meme hits the nail on the head for me! Good one. I am sorry you've still got a headache...nothing more aggravating and painful. I am so sorry to hear Tamara has even more problems now. Is there heart problems in the family or is it something she developed from all of her other problems? I hope they can get it figured out so they can address the ovary issues. I bet you wish DGS would haul DIL out with the other stuff from the basement....lol. What is it going to take for him to come to his senses? Angela...good to see you here this morning but sorry to hear you can't sleep. You are getting close to moving day, right? How is that project going for you? I am sure it is overwhelming and emotional for both of you. Leslie....I had to go back and read you prior posts as I missed where you were going and why. So nice it worked out that you could go to DGD's play and also get to hold that new grandson. Enjoy the rest of the time with them. Sandy...so sorry to hear about your uncle passing. I think your Dad and brother probably have a tough job ahead of them. I take it he had no other family? Dave...so what is tired iron? Melissa....you are warmer than us right now! Enjoy the weather. Are you sure the chiropractor said to go straight home and start cleaning out flower beds? Take it easy. I saw some with shorts here yesterday as well. I will wait a while before I dig out my capris as when I 1st start wearing them I get scared by the stark white legs every time I look down....lol. Lily...glad to hear your friend stopped by and has more time now to visit you. Great that she can take you for your toe appointment. Hope you can get to sit outside today or at least this weekend. These are some of the seedlings wanting to go to the GH soon (Gayle, don't look) Waving at everyone and wishing you a great day. Charlene

Charlene-Ha ha. Yep, she actually said doing the garden work would probably not be the best idea. Well, being stubborn and dumb I'm sure I'll do it anyway! I'm like, you don't understand!! lol I did notice we were warmer, but when I looked at my phone mine said 27 for us and it said 24 for you. Now it says 27 for you and 28 for me. My home thermometer actually says 37 for me, but its usually quite a bit warmer than the official, I think b/c its on the house.

Melissa...my phone also says it is 28º here, but both of my indoor/outdoor said 17º earlier....they now say 19º, so it's going the right direction anyway....lol.

No my Uncle never married and dad is the last in the family. I'm helping as much as dad wants. We haven't been getting along. So I'm trying.
Melissa no I haven't tried the cold frame yet. It's been to cold and snowy/icy to put anything out. I was hoping this weekend but need to check out the temps before I put anything out. I figure I worked hard on them to grow and don't want to kill them. Very strange spring as most of us are having. The Junco's are still around so it means at least 1 more snowstorm.

Sandy, maybe you're uncle's passing will help mend the problems between you and your Dad. Maybe that is why Grandma is visiting you lately. I'm guessing she'd like the 2 of you to get along.
The way these juncos are eating, I think they are getting ready for their flight to Canada. I have literally 100s of them and Lair does as well. Charlene

Good morning. This is the kind of broken record I like to sound like ... it is sunny and beautiful today! I listened to a different weather guesser late last night, and we are supposedly going to be sunny and warming for quite a few upcoming days. I think we shouldn't have any rain until Tuesday, so that leaves plenty of nice outdoor days ahead. I plan to take advantage of that somehow.
We really don't have anything on the agenda for the day. Guess we will roll with the punches. At the very least, I would like to sit outside in the sun for a while. Ideally, I would like to maybe do some raking in the back yard to get rid of more debris from last year. That will be dependent upon my back. It has been consistently tolerable, and even decent, during the daytime hours; it is the nighttime hours that seem to have it tightening up. In any event, I don't want to waste good weather so I will find something to do outdoors.
Donna, I am stealing the meme this morning. It is a keeper that I can see me putting on Facebook. Thanks for sharing the latest on Tamara. I'm sorry the news isn't better. My heart goes out to her and you! I consider myself a tough old bird, except when it comes to my kids. Our kids in crisis can be excruciating. Prayers!
Glad to hear your DGD's play went well, Leslie. How fun that you were finally able to hold Silas! Travel home safely.
Sandy, you have my condolences on the passing of your uncle. I hope this may end up being a gateway for things to get smoothed over with your DF.
You are right, Melissa, a late spring is better than not having one. We're certainly going to appreciate every lovely moment of what we get, won't we? I don't think I am ready for shorts and tee shirts just yet, but you did get me to thinking that I probably ought to start digging them out. If the weather guesser I heard last night is right, and that is a big IF, we may see 70 for next weekend. That will seem like Heaven on Earth!
Charlene, your babies are BEAUTIFUL! They do look ready for the greenhouse. What all do you have growing there?
Waving to those I missed. I need to go grab a bite to eat. My stomach is complaining that it needs food. Have a fabulous Friday!
