Hello everyone. Thanks for opening this morning Tasty. I had such a bad headache that I couldn't see to type. I was up all night and just had a short nap a while ago. It hasn't completely gone but wanted to say hi to everyone.
It did snow through the night but it's gone now but boy it's chilly out there. I really want to stay in my pj's but whenever I do that mil shows up, no phone call just appears. It's usually a Thursday or Friday night.
I hope none of you got anymore snow than you already have. Gosh poor Charlene and Kathy, I hope you are done for the year.
Tamara called and their basement flooded with last weekends storms. There was over a foot of water so that means they lost a lot. DGS has made several trips to the dump. No one could come out right away because they were already at other homes. Not a good way to get rid of stuff. It's just something else to stress her out.
Well I will move on and get dressed and just maybe clean out a small cupboard and see what treasures I find :)
Have a peaceful evening and let us know what you have been up to today.

Evening all. Dh made it home this afternoon. I saw him for 1 whole minute! He was picking up the middle 2 kids and I was at volleyball with dd. He got home as I was leaving for my chiropractor. Sitting in the waiting room now. My back feels pretty good today, so hopefully this is the last visit I will have to do.
Donna-Oh no. A foot of water is awful! That happened to my in laws 20 some years ago. It was an awful mess. Their septic froze and backed up. Yuck!
Well looks like I'm up next. Have a good night.

Good evening. Mercifully, our day stayed rather pleasant. I heard the chief weather guesser say tonight that he THINKS it was our last measurable snow of the season. I surely do hope so! Onward towards a real spring now?!?
I really didn't do much again today. That is beginning to be a theme with which I cannot get too comfortable! I watered and rotated the seedlings at least once. A couple of my 3rd cousins and I went back and forth in emails about the possibility of finding family in Ireland, which is something the three of us have been trying to do for years. We'll see how it all plays out now that one of the cousins has a contact in Ireland. My cousin who I had lunch with earlier in the week wrote to me to fill me in on what happened to her after we left the restaurant. She was turning out of the parking lot when a young man riding a bicycle wasn't paying attention to what was happening around him and ran into the side of her car. Yikes! He was apparently not injured because he refused to let her call the paramedics to check him out. The bike looked okay, as did her car, but he did fly off of the bike and over the hood. He's lucky he didn't go out into the flow of traffic that seemed to be pretty heavy to me as I was going left out of the lot. It really shook up my cousin. She was supposed to be at a business meeting about an hour away from here, and needless to say she was late. I think it was wise of her to do as she did by going to the police department to report the incident. There was nothing to be done, but at least she left a record of her side of the story just in case something changes with the young man. I also completed a task today DH asked me to do for him ... sort through and toss things from the kitchen bulletin board that we no longer need. There were a few things, but it wasn't as bad as he was thinking. It just needed to be organized better. Wasn't that a whoppingly (I'm seeing this is not a properly spelled word but I like it (rofl) ) successful day? My back has felt better as the day wore on. I hope it stays that way now.
So sorry to hear you were feeling poorly this morning, Donna. I'm glad you stopped by tonight to say hi to us even though you aren't still up to par. How awful for Tamara to have that flooding happen like that! You are right; that is not the best way to get rid of things. Cleaning tends to provide us with happy surprises sometimes. May you find some nice treasures as you clean!
Melissa, I hope the chiropractor can help you with your back. Even though it was just for a minute, I'm sure you were glad to see your DH back home safe and sound. I imagine he was also glad to be back home and off the road.
Well, DH and I both took late afternoon naps that put us way behind on supper. He's gone off to pick up a little something so I guess I better be ready to eat when he gets back. Have a nice night!

I just posted this on the VSR, so moving it here.
Before I do that; Donna, how is Tamara doing? Has she had any of her other surgeries yet?
We were in the upper 50s today & had rain this afternoon.
The weekend is supposed to be nice but I'm going to a Fish Fry at youngest DB's house Sat. afternoon so don't know how much yard work I'll get done that day. Mike, Marianne & the GKs are coming down so will get to spend the day with them. Maybe I can work outside Sunday.
I did laundry when I got home & noticed the laundry room seemed really hot. Sure enough the dryer hose had somehow come loose from the back of the dryer. Had to pull the dryer out & re-attach it. I don't see any way to actually fasten it. It just seems to go into the opening on the back of the dryer so I put it in as far as it will go & I guess we'll see what happens.
Work again tomorrow for both companies.

Good evening Donna and Melissa...and everyone else later. What a difference a day can make. We got up to 47º today and the sun shone all day. Oh my, did that melt a lot of snow. I took some pictures to prove it, but I will share them in the picture thread tomorrow. I swear I am sharing only new pics there from now on out...I'm getting sick of the old ones over and over.
I hauled many large geraniums from the GH to our downstairs deck and also the upstairs sun deck to start acclimating to being outside and to make room in the GH for some seedlings. They were outside all afternoon, but I had to haul them inside the house for overnight as the temps tonight may be in the lower 20s. I'd hate to keep them all winter and then lose them now.
Donna...oh no about your headache. I hope it is gone and you can get some rest tonight. I'm also sorry to hear about the flooding at Tamara's home. She doesn't need any more stress in her life for sure. Good that DGS is able to help out.
Melissa...glad DH made it home safely. I hope the chiro can do miracles on your back and you will be in shape for all of your busy activities plus Spring gardening. (let's be optimistic that Spring will be here someday...lol)
I hope everyone had as nice of a day as I did....Charlene

Hello Karen and Gayle....guess we were posting at the same time.
Karen...Your cousin must have been scared to death. I also think she did the right thing to report it....just in case. Enjoy your dinner!
Gayle...I have my dryer vent duct taped in since it always seemed to be falling out and that made for lots of extra dryer lint in the kitchen that I did not like nor need. Charlene

Karen your cousin did the right thing. Many years ago DH had a kid run in to his pickup but she was on foot...just ran out into the street. She was not hurt but he called me and asked what he should do. I told him to report it to our insurance just in case the parents tried to sue him. I do not remember if anyone called the police or not. Just protect yourself.

I had a surprise visitor this afternoon, my friend Diane. She just quit her job at Public Health and is bored to death. She is looking for something p.t. and may find sometbing at a Pre-school center here in town. She would be good there! She just lost her Dad recently. She offered to take me down for my little surgery on my toe on May 2. I still don't know what time, but early and she said that's no problem for her. Just me! LOL
After she left it was getting late to sit outside, so I will try tomorrow. maybe it will be even warmer.
Donna, hope the headache is gone, they are so tiring and Melissa I can sympathise with back aches! Chiro is all that helps mine!
Charlene, I'm sure moving plants around is just "fun" for you!
Have a pleasant evening,

My memory is s l o w! My DH used a small bungee cord somehow to keep my dryer vent hooked up when it kept coming off!
