Our forecast this morning shows we may get a few snow flakes but by Tuesday we're looking at 59F - yeah!!! Even today it's above freezing all day so the snow shouldn't do any harm. Lots of sun over the weekend so maybe some outside work in our future.
Got a much needed haircut yesterday - feels so much better to say nothing about how much better it looks . . .
Time for me to get moving around here and get some breakfast. Hope you have a great day.

Good morning. 24 but heading to 53. YES!! We haven't hit 50 yet this year so it will feel so amazing. I'm sure the kids will want to take their jackets off outside. They will be stuck in snowpants a little longer as its so wet and there is still snow in the shade. Maybe next week we can stop wearing them.
Dh texted at 11:15 that he had made it safely to his hotel and that he is sick of driving in blizzards. Oh boy. Poor guy. One would think you could travel in mid April without worrying about that. Looks like he'll have sun and clear skies all the way home today, so thats a good thing.
Work until noon then getting off to attend dd's DARE graduation at school. All the 5th graders in the county participate in the dare program, then get to attend the MN Twins game as a reward. They will do that next weekend Sunday. She has a volleyball in house game tonight at 3:30. I may be taking 2 other girls with me too. With the graduation I'll be taking dd out right after which is probably an hour early, so makes things a little trickier for getting other kids out early too. Dh should be home by this afternoon. :)
Tasty-I too am hoping to get outside to work this weekend. Hoping my back cooperates.
Wishing all a great day!

Good morning Tasty and all who visit later. It looks like the sun is already here. Hope it hangs a round for a few days. We also have some 50s and 1 60 degree day in the forecast for next week. That should quickly melt this snow.
I also hope Donna is sleeping, Tasty. Glad you are happy with your haircut.
I can't think what I'm going to do today. I do know I'm meeting friends for lunch, but not sure if they're coming here or we're meeting some where else. With this sunny day I may spend some time in the GH.
Wishing you all a good day. Charlene

Good morning. 30 and overcast with rain this afternoon. We are scheduled for a nice weekend and our temps will be going into the 50's and maybe even 60. If that happens just maybe the ice will melt off the deck and I can get the second greenhouse up and get the rest of the plants out of the shop and get that heat turned down or even off.
Yesterday I spent until noon working on Lions work and still have a number of emails to get out this morning. Then I spent 2 hours chopping and shoveling ice and snow off my sidewalk. It isn't as wide as it should be but at least you can get in and out of the house now without the fear of falling. When I say I spent 2 hours I think as much was resting as it was working. However when I finished I was too tired to do anything else so the list just continues to grow that I need to get done. Maybe today.
Charlene, sorry about your snow. We still have snow in the 10 day forecast but just a bit mixed with rain. I think you had a better variety of birds at your house yesterday than I had all winter. I did notice the goldfinch male has already donned his spring colors. They haven't here yet.
Kathy, hope you have also seen the end of your snow. That is a lot of shoveling.
Melissa, hope your back allows you to get outside and get some work done this weekend. I seems crazy that DH is traveling in such weather in mid April.
Tasty, enjoy your nice weather also.
Lily, so sorry to hear that you have been sick with a cold. Take it easy and rest.
Karen, I have a few seeds that didn't germinate and I just tossed them.
Alma, it is great that where you live takes such good care of their residents. There are so many that are just in it for the money.
Hope all is well with Donna and Rick.
Have a great day.
Bet

Good Morning everyone. Looks beautiful outside today with the fresh snow, just prefer the sunshine on green grass vs the heavy blanket of snow! Charlene I missed your snow pictures last night and shut down my computer after 11, and missed you on the Chat, too. Figured you were tired from shoveling! I had dozens of Juncos and other birds in the tree by my windows yesterday and at the feeders like you.
Hope everone is feeling better today, especially Kathy with her shingles, Melissa's back and that Donna is only sleeping in late!
After a week of doing nothing I'm hoping my energy will return today. I have to play "catch up" in my 2 messy rooms!

Good morning. We finally have made it to our sunshine day! Yippee skippy!!! We did get a dusting of snow early this morning; it was nothing like what I was expecting, though. With the sun shining like it is, I don't see there being any snow left by noon. I guess we are to be right around 50 give or take a degree or two. As usual, it depends on which weather guesser I go by. I am choosing the one who said we'd be 52° for our high today. :D
It looks like I am going to be able to enjoy a few blooms on my seedling table this year before I plant anything outside. I already have a sweet little viola blooming that I love. It is not what I was expecting ... deep purple and bright yellow. This one is more like a pale lavender and a soft yellow. I'm really loving that! I always enjoy a nice garden surprise, plus, I love "unusual" anything. It seems as though a couple of the celosia will also be blooming by the time I put them out. One is a yellow that I am looking forward to having this year ... thanks to Melissa. There is also, though, a surprise that is coming up with the yellow seed Melissa sent me ... either a pink or an orange. I'm excited by either one. Melissa, if I can save some seed from the surprise color I will send you some of it.
I don't especially have any plans for the day. I guess I will play around at this and that. My back is still achy so I may give in and take some extra-strength acetaminophen. I tried Aspercreme last night before I went to be, which worked okay, but I still had to get the heating pad out in the middle of the night. Maybe a hot shower with the shower head on pulse will help massage away the tightness. We'll see. This is not constant or overly painful, just annoying.
Hoping all is well with Donna.
Tasty, thank you for opening up today. A sunny weekend with the possibility of working outside does sound enticing, doesn't it? I hope it works out that way for you. Getting a good haircut sure does feel good. I'm glad you were able to get one.
Fingers crossed, Melissa, that you really do get that warm today. It sure will feel weird and wonderful to the kiddos to be able to play outside without their snow pants ... whenever they end up being able to do that. I don't know why it is, but when traveling anywhere it has always seemed to me that the drive home is always shorter, even though the distance is the same. With the sunshine and good weather on his way home, I'm confident it will feel that way for DH too. Prayers for his safe travel.
Charlene, time in the greenhouse will be such a treat for you. I hope you can do that today. Enjoy lunch with your friends wherever that may be. Cute memes, btw, in the Chit Chat last night!
May that forecast be true, Bette, and you are able to get ice melted and the second greenhouse up. There are some seeds/seed starter that I also tossed. A few other things are not far behind, I'm afraid. I usually toss my seed starter in a bed alongside the garage, and it is not unusual for me to have "volunteers" show up after that from time to time. They are another little garden surprise I love.
Lily, I hope you continue to feel better every day.
Waving to Alma, Dave, Kathy, and anyone else I have missed. Have a good day!

Bette and Tasty--we are supposed to get pretty much the same weather by the weekend, too! Sunshine would be soooo nice. Right now we are getting "snain", which is my term for snow/rain that is so light that it's hard to tell which. From the sound of it, we'll be having stuff falling from the sky all day and some tomorrow but not sticking. My friend up in the hills has a white coating. Just nasty, cold, gloomy, wet--but nothing like what the folks in the mid-west are seeing. I'd be pushed right around the bend by now if we had gotten 10-12 inches.
Bette--it's good that you had resting time in that 2 hours of clearing your walk. Working with all that ice and heavy snow must be exhausting. I've dealt with it a couple of times this winter. I'm glad you aren't isolated on top of your mountain anymore. Some day, the leaves will be coming out on the trees and it really will be spring. Of course, the black flies will be coming along some day, too! Always something to look forward to! LOL!
Tasty--yard work in your future?! It feels good to get out. Yesterday, I spent a short time picking up the mess from our wind storm in the yard. Despite coming in chilled and wet, it was still a chance to get a breath of fresh air and check on what's coming up. My daffodils are in bud but it's going to be a while before they bloom.
Have a good day, all.

Heritage House is A WESLEYLIFE COMMUNITY - They are a Methodist run by its own people. Once in they let you live there for life. they goals are great help to individuals to liver longer healthy lives.
I visited here for 40 years never dreaming I could be here. All of my family, parents, never went to a home. Just had heart attacks and died. So I figured that is what would happen to me. But the first year I was like a dream and I would wake and it was a dream. I am blessed. Can go at 2 and get fingernails clipped and filed at no charge. a great little social hour. Have timer set and now back to clearing stuff!!! And when they opened the time capsule and I visited with the head CEO of state office. He asked if I was Curt Tallman's mother. He said sewing -Tallman you must be his mother. They had been roommates at ISU in 84-5. Wow that just blew my mind. He got masters in Kansas and Curt went on to do asphalt and gone to many training schools. It is a small world - but that was special. And the wives work as administraters of Speciality Care homes and know each other.
Got back from nails with cup of Ice cream from the machine. Put it over apple crisp they served for desert. Warmed it in micro and put a few chopped almonds on top.
Life is good most days!!!

Good evening,
We were in the upper 50s today & had rain this afternoon.
The weekend is supposed to be nice but I'm going to a Fish Fry at youngest DB's house Sat. afternoon so don't know how much yard work I'll get done that day. Mike, Marianne & the GKs are coming down so will get to spend the day with them. Maybe I can work outside Sunday.
I did laundry when I got home & noticed the laundry room seemed really hot. Sure enough the dryer hose had somehow come loose from the back of the dryer. Had to pull the dryer out & re-attach it. I don't see any way to actually fasten it. It just seems to go into the opening on the back of the dryer so I put it in as far as it will go & I guess we'll see what happens.
Work again tomorrow for both companies.
