I did get home from work a littler earlier today (around 2:30). so I filled bird feeders & attached a seed tray to a fence post for the bigger birds, like Blue Jays, etc; Then I cut the back yard (Chelsea's part) I figure if I can manage to do a little something each day, maybe that will do some good.
Came in, filed my reports, gathered paperwork for tomorrow & by that time it was time to feed the "babies" . Now I need to go find something for me to eat.
I haven't read anything yet so I'll probably be back.
How was your day?

Just got home from my meeting. I did grab the pooper scooper and make a pass around the south facing hill where the snow is gone. We have 4 acres and Cooper sometimes poops right next to the sidewalk up to the house. Really makes me mad! I'd like to soend more time out there, but the yard is either full of snow or where its melted its wet, muddy, and like walking on a sponge. Since it seems the weather is finally looking spring like I may attempt to clean out beds this weekend. They are really bad and a few things are coming up on the south side of the house.
Gayle-You have sure worked a lot lately. Good luck staying ahead on projects. I bet cutting grass felt nice. It will be a long while yet before we have to do that.
Wishing all a good night.

I just came in from shoveling the sidewalks and the end of the driveway and out to the road where a lot of snow, ice and slush was that got me stuck and no traction. Everyone said to just let it be and tomorrows warm weather would melt it but that wouldn't do me any good at 7 am and I didn't want to miss work since I missed over the weekend since they were closed because of the blizzard. First time I ever remember almost every restaurant in town being closed due to the weather. Going to be in the 60s all next week, yippee. I may be able to get all my seedlings planted out the first week of May after all.
Gayle I envy you being so busy with work and working out in your yard. I have been so bored all winter. I can't wait to have have 2 part time jobs and to be able to work in the yard.
Getting ready to make some spaghetti and then to watch Survivor and Criminal Minds.
Just saw on the news we got 10 inches today.

Good evening. The rain has returned. :-/ It seems as though it will rain until about midnight when it will start snowing. We aren't supposed to get more than 1" so I guess that is good. Even if we get stuff that sticks, it should melt away throughout tomorrow because we should have sunshine and warm up into the upper 40s. It looks like Thursday may be our last day in the 7-day forecast that will be in the 40s for our high. Next week still looks like we'll be in the 60s. Yay!
DH took our friend's mom and her caregiver to the doctor today. While he was away, I transplanted and cleaned up my tables a bit. The things that have not germinated yet went under the table to make way for another flat to fill up. The only thing I have hope of still germinating is the lavender, which I see can take up to 90 days. Whatever happens under the table ... happens. I'll continue to water the dishes, but I am not worrying about anything, nor do I think I am sowing any more seeds. I still have zinnias I would like to sow, but I'm getting tired of dealing with seedlings. I also think I'd be smart to hold off on growing too much that I used to put out in the raised beds we want to phase out this year. I have some of the Profusions sown, and I believe that will have to be enough of the zinnias for this year. About the only other thing I did today was talk to one of our banks to get me set up with their online banking system. Up until now, both DH and I had access to our local bank and its online system, but the other bank that was affiliated with the company DH worked for was generally handled online by DH. When we were getting our tax stuff together this year and he was having issues with getting the things together he needed, I decided it might be wise if I also connected myself with that bank. I'm very glad I did it, and I'm also thankful I did it before anything happened to him. I'd have been in quite a state if I had to try to figure things out then. I did manage to fix us a nice supper while he was out picking up his medication and a few things he missed when he was out before. All in all, not a bad day.
My back continued to grab my attention at various points in the day, but generally it loosened up just like it did yesterday. I wanted to mention to you, Birdy, that I appreciate your ideas on what to do about my back problems. I already do sleep with a pillow between my knees when I sleep on my side and also under my feet when I lay on my back. This is a result of my 4 hip surgeries. I was originally advised to use the pillow to keep my right leg from crossing over the middle of my body. That may not be necessary anymore, but I am actually used to it now. My back pain that has been bothering me is more up behind my rib cage. My next plan of attack is to possibly put a lidocaine patch on before I go to bed, or at least bring the patch to bed with me just in case I need it.
No real plans for the night. I guess I will catch up on things in the DVR if I can't find something else to watch.
Your day sounds productive, Gayle. Good for you! Hope you found something good to eat. Thanks for starting this tonight.
Melissa, I hope you can get out in the beds this weekend. I guess one good thing about the ground being so wet is the weeds and junk will come up a lot easier than if it was dry. I was surprised how easily I was able to just rake things up when we had nice weather.
Well, I should get going. Have a nice night!

Good evening. It's getting late so I'll keep this fairly short. After church I put a few things in an overnight bag and will throw my meds and toiletries in when I get ready for work in the morning. Thankfully I got our computer problem fix today, so won't have to deal with that tomorrow. Actually called in to a support person and got him logged in remotely to fix it. I didn't want to do that because the company has not renewed that support contract in several years, but the plant manager made a call to one person, got the number for the support desk and came over to my desk to get me to call. Fortunately I ended up getting someone I had talked to before. Now to see if they bill the company later.
Just going to watch tv for a little bit.
Sorry so many of you are still dealing with old man winter.

Kathy-Yuck to your snow. Fingers crossed this is THE END of it!!!
Karen-No weeds yet, too early, but I never cut anything off in the fall so the beds are a disaster. Hopefully any snow you get will melt right away.
Leslie-Sounds like a project just to find someone to fix the issues at work.

Hi I am returning after enduring the worst cold, or I should say, the most wicked cough I've had since Whooping cough at age 10! Actu ally this began after my long day of Dr. visits last Wed, when I came home totally exhausted and slept 12 hours. I had been coughing as a result of the B/P pills I had been taking. He changed my pres. and said it would take a couple days to leave my system. But apparently they either took longer or the cough from a cold took over, but I was so weak and shaking, I was worn out. Never left my apt. for 5 days until today. Was so weak from not eating so little, too. Took aspirins (my drug of choice) steamed with Vicks and rubbed it on my chest. Finally today I feel more alive!
Today was (we hope) Winter's final Last Hurrah! Snowed from 10 a.m. until 6p.m. leaving 10 Inches of wet, heavy snow! Acording to the news report, Charlenes village received 12 inches and from what I saw here, think we got a foot, too. Whatever it was was too much!
My DIL came from work early and got stuck at Charlenes and then got home and got stuck there and also got her skid steer stuck! Not a good day.
Hope everyone under the weather will perk when IF spring arrives! Looks promising in the days ahead. Takes me so long with 2 fingers, going to have to practice! Good night and stay safe,

Hi. You guys that are still getting all that snow. I want to come North so it needs to melt. My sister and her husband are leaving Friday morning for North Dakota but they have a house to go to. The lake resort doesn't open until May 1st but no water until ground isn't frozen anymore. Friends went out to lake yesterday to get some of their stuff and for stuck. Not good.
We got Drs out of the way yestwrday, but I am once again checking blood pressure for a week as it is high. Grrr.
The Voice will soon be on so need to cut this short. Elaine

Started the day to unplug my IPad, but it wasn't there! Looked on and off all day. Had cleaned last night and piles of stuff. Thought I had looked at all places, but then started on the flannel blankets I had made and there it was - behind that box under 3 papers I decided to save!
Did find a comb and the checkbook that have been missing. I got sick after I took down the Christmas decorations and a month later the ones in 2nd floor display. It was in with that box of stuff.
Am making progress, but slow as they had a health and wellness program and needed to see and hear. They take good care of us and work to keep us moving, socializing, learning and more.
Have to get started on closing down day. Have a 9 apt at medical building.
Get a great rest and see you sometime tomorrow.
Alma
