Good morning friends.
Chris, I will say a prayer.
Tammy, Sometimes it's difficult to make dinner when someone has certain health issues and there are picky kids. I know you will certainly pull through. So glad kitty is doing well.
Tasty, Happy to hear that your mum recovered and is doing well.
Bet, I know you can't wait for Spring. It has been a long winter that has interrupted spring as well.
Marlene, You have my stomach grumbling with all the cooking your doing.
Elaine, I had Shop-Rite steam the lobster for DD.
Lori, Yes, yesterday was her real birthday. We did go shopping at Target and The Learning Express but she didn't see anything she liked. I told her at some point to shop on Amazon and we will buy her something from there.
Stella is going home today and I must say I am ready. I took her for a walk this morning but when we came back in the house she pooped on the floor right next to the pad! >:D . She passes gas quite a bit and it's so bad you have to leave the room!
This is the last day of spring break ??? .
Last night I made a roast chicken. Dinner tonight will be grilled pork chops.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

You are in my prayers Chris. I am sure you will do a fine job. I hope you won't be getting our weather. I went over to see the dogs and it started to snow again and did rain earlier. It is almost end of April these farmers will be going crazy!!
Just hope to make some more dishes today for Chuck's. Have more chicken breasts to use up so will do another one of chicken. Then will do some more of beef and pork. Kind of like to give them a variety.
Hoping it quits snowing and it turns out to be better as the day goes.

Good morning all.
Chris, sending you positive thoughts today. Hope it goes well.
Nancy, hope dd can find what she wants on Amazon.
Marlene, you make me hungry, too. Tammy does, too and Lori and.... LOL So many wonderful cooks here.
Dinner will be chicken. Maybe chicken strips. I have not made them in awhile. Or Cacciatore.
I am going to get a pedicure this morning and then work.
Waving to all.

Chris--looks like just the thing for a hard day. I'm also sending positive thoughts along to you.
Bet--I'm so glad that you are finally set free! We are getting lake effect snow flurries right now--through Friday from the sound of it. That is crazy--I can't remember an April with lake snow. We had some damage in the neighborhood with the wind on Monday. My neighbor lost roof shingles and had a bent edging. They are probably going to have to replace the whole roof--hope insurance covers it. Someone else up the street got a small tree on top of their new garage. And two big pine trees came down on wires at the top of the street--it's a wonder we didn't lose power. So I am ready for something that even approaches normal right now. More gusty winds coming--but not like Monday.
I bought some baby back ribs on sale yesterday. I think this will be my first project for the Instant Pot, perhaps tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Good morning. 28 overnight and overcast right now with possible rain/snow tomorrow but we are suppose to see the sun today. Yesterday I did manage to get a few more seed planted but ran out of soil in the house. I am late with these seed as I didn't intend to plant them but DGD didn't get any going so am working on some for here.
Since we cancelled our Lions meeting Monday, I have a lot of things to get done now by email. Our big garage sale is coming up the end of May so need to get a roster put together, posters made and other advertising out. Once that is done I will get more soil in and get back to planting and transplanting.
Chris, good luck with your interview today. I think your coworker knew just what you needed to get you through the day. They sure look good.
Tasty, glad the lunch planning to going well. Good that you were able to get out and go to your craft meeting.
Tammy, I know how hard it can be to plan a meal for people with special diets. My DS is a type I diabetic. He was most always able to eat what we were having for a meal but many times had to be prepared separately. Things have changed so over the past 30 some years that the only problem is he is picky and just doesn't like some things.
Marlene, Chuck is one lucky fellow with all the cooking you do for them.
Nancy, sorry your DD didn't find anything she wanted for her birthday. Hopefully something will hit her fancy on Amazon.
Birdy, yes I set free from the ice but now I have no car. DS's SO's vehicle is down so he has mine at the moment. I do need to get to town at least for the mail one of these days so I told him I need it back hopefully on Friday. Will see how that goes. Sorry about the lake affect snow. I have actually check my journals for the past few years and this weather is not unusual for us in April.
Dinner tonight is leftover Curry chicken and broccoli over rice.
Have a great day.
Bet

Afternoon, friends! If it wasn't so windy, it would be a beautiful spring day! Today on the radio someone called in and told the crew that it wasn't April 18th; it was, in fact, January 67th! I believe it!!! HA! Just prepped a side salad to go with more of DH's Skillet Cassoulet. I had 3 heads of Romaine that I thought would need a lot of trimming since it has been in the fridge for quite a while. I was surprised that I got so much. It's washed and dried and in a produce bag for future salads. Chris - Saying prayers that your difficult interview goes OK. Birdy - Have fun on your IP's maiden voyage! I've made ribs in my stove top; they are easy and yummy. What kind of BBQ sauce do you use? DH likes Sticky Fingers; I like the Rhubarbecue which is a rhubarb/strawberry BBQ sauce from Cast Iron King on TOH. Another favorite is the Dinosaur brand from NY. Thanks for posting Marlene's recipe; I plan on trying it, for sure. Nancy - I had a big chuckle when you mentioned Stella's flatulence. There was a funny episode on PBS's "All Creatures Great and Small". A boxer named Cedric had the same problem except he was wont to pass gas when the owner had social gatherings at her manor house. Funny episode...! Have a great afternoon; will check in later!

Good Afternoon ! It is cloudy here and we may get some rain later.
We ate lunch over at the center today. The had meatloaf and it was great. I am going back over at 2:30 for a cheese party. The volunteer Margaret, whom I have mentioned before, does this every year. She collects cheeses and then puts all of them out with crackers, olives, grapes, and invites all the residents.
I gave her my list of possible things to make for the Ladies Tea next month. She liked all of the things, but told me to pick about 4. I think I had 7 items listed. I will need to pick the things that can be done ahead. The strawberry topiary tree will be a last minute thing. I am hoping that DDIL and DGD can help me with it Saturday morning.
Ann, the joke about January 67th is one I saw on facebook. I thought it was so funny. I guess not so funny if you are having to live with it!
Tasty, so glad your mum recovered from the flu and is doing well.
Chris, I said a prayer as soon as I read your request. I hope all went better than expected.
We had a change of plans last night for supper. The chicken was still frozen, so we had sliced smoked brisket. We will hopefully grill the chicken tonight, hope it's not raining. If it is maybe DH can use the big grill that is in the "hangout underneath a covering. We ate all the sides I made so I am thinking of maybe stealing about 3 of the tomatoes and making fried green tomatoes. I'll see what Dh says. Some are getting big, but we have tons of tiny tomatoes, and more blossoms, too!
Need to run and get some things done around here. I have a stack of magazines that I think I will go through and take the ones I am not keeping over to the center. I may try to do some mending this afternoon. Have a nice day!

Ann--I remember the flatulence episode from "All Creatures". It was absolutely the funniest of the whole series, I think. If I recall, the dog ended up living with a man in town who turned out to have no sense of smell! That was a great series--I think that there are some episodes on YouTube or perhaps Acorn TV, which is a British TV site that I have subscribed to. I enjoy their classic shows.
I may do the ribs in the Instant Pot tomorrow. Lately, I've been on a Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce kick. Sticky Fingers makes a version but the latest one I found I think is from Kraft and it's nice. It has more tang than sweet. Dinosaur is also good. I've been to the original Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse years ago when no one had heard of them. They are an institution now. I make it a point to stop at their stand at the State Fair every year.
I have done ribs in the pressure cooker many times when I was using the stove top cooker so this won't be a new experience. I like the idea that I don't have to babysit the pot. I've discovered that there are probably 3 million recipes on the internet for this electric pot. People have gone nuts over it--possibly because it's so safe since the idea of pressure cooking certainly isn't new! You have to be as dense as a rock and totally careless to have a problem with this cooker--and even then it's more a matter of a little mess than of a bomb going off.
It has stopped sraining--that's my name for snow that's really rain. It's been doing it all day very lightly but enough to chill you to the bone if you stay out in it. I took 1/2 hour to pick up the remains of my porch blinds that were shredded by the wind--thin white slats of plastic broken up into pieces and scattered over my yard and my two neighbors. Sheesh! I'm still not sure how that happened!
Have a good day, folks.

Good afternoon everyone. Today is Raw Milk Appreciation Day and National Animal Cracker Day.
Chris, I said a prayer for you when I read your request earlier today. I hope the day has gone well and in your favor. BTW, those Banana Bread Squares look good--how nice of your co-worker to bring in a treat to share.
Dinner this evening will be a big salad--I wanted to use up bits and pieces of meat and cheese along with a variety of veggies; cantaloupe will be dessert.
At 6:51PM tonight NASA will launch it's new TESS satellite. Neighbors have already begun to bring their lawn chairs over to sit in our driveway so as to view(hopefully no clouds will be in the way) later. Once the launch is over, I'll be sitting down in front of the tv to watch Stanley Cup Play-Off Game #4 between the Tampa Bay Bolts and NJ Devils.
Waving to all. Lori

Well thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts. It did not go well on one count but the other did. I am at a loss as what to do except tell the coworker that is it happens again she has to go. It is a bio-hazard risk and we can not afford the law suit that could happen.
I am eating 2 bananas with chocolate sauce for supper! Hows that !!! LOL The squares were wonderful I ate 6 of them.LOL Pigggy!
Chris.

HEADS UP....there is a huge recall on Romaine lettuce...from Yuma. So far there have been 22 cases of e-coli... in many parts of the country. Consumers Report recommended that it be avoided in bag salad mix and at restaurants and if you choose to use it be able to identify it's origin. Chris, congratulations on your promotion and I hope you also got a nice remuneration package to go with it. I do hope things went well for you today. Your job is a tough one and it takes special people to do it well. Hopefully Spring will arrive at your house before July 4. We had 70 degrees yesterday and today 50 degrees.
Looks like congrats are in order for Betsy's girls, Nancy's girls and Marlene's DGD's. Way to go!!!! I am so very happy to hear Tammy's report that Helen's cat is back and in pretty good shape. I am sure she is elated.....it probably used up 2 or 3 of it's 9 lives.
Ann, good to see that DH has his eye pressure under control.....glaucoma can be so difficult my DH struggled with it for many years before his death....
Good evening to all,
