Looks like Spring has disappeared again. We never made it out of the 40s & that damp, chilly wind is back. We started out sunny, but that didn't last. That wind goes right through you, with no sun to help warm things up.
Speaking of Eagles, we have them around here but have never seen one actually in my yard. (I have seen them fly over a couple times.) Good pictures, Melissa.
Anyway, going to work today down one of these back wooded roads I saw this huge shadow pass over the van & on down the road in front of me. I looked up & sure enough there was this huge Eagle soaring overhead. This is the same road that I pulled over, got out of the van & took the Eagle in the tree picture last yr. I see them along this road occasionally, so I'm pretty sure there's a nest in the woods there somewhere. BTW, the road is appropriately named Byrd Road. A narrow 2 lane road that twists & turns through the woods. One of my favorite local shortcuts.
Mary, don't give up on your Amaryllis. I bought 2 on clearance right around Christmas; one sprouted, grew, bloomed & has been all done for quite a while. The other did nothing, but I kept it watered & put it in a window. thinking it might do something outside this summer. I glanced at it the other day & it has finally decided to sprout. It remains to be seen if it will bloom or not.
My "old" one that I re-pot every year did not bloom this yr.
No real news; just work today & again tomorrow.
I'm seeing sunshine & some blue sky so maybe tomorrow will be better, weather wise. The weekend is supposed to be decent.

Good evening, Gayle. Our weather here is just about like yours. Some sun today, but still kind of cool. Could get just a touch of snow tonight. I don't think spring is coming this year.
I went to get the MRI for my leg today. Got all set. laid down on the bed thing, put the speakers on, went in the machine and opened my eyes. Had to call to be taken back out. I didn't realize that the top of the thing was about 6 inches from my face. Gave me a "panic attack". Thought I was going to throw up, so didn't get it done today. The tech said they had a different machine that was open on the sides, so will be trying that on Monday morning. Doctor sent over a prescription to the pharmacy for a calming med to take before the scan. Hope that works. I've never had an attack before, but I couldn't wait to get out of that machine even if it meant no scan. They must have it happen fairly often, as they have the other machine right there in the next room. My stomach was in no shape to do that then even if she could have.
I'm managing to get by with 5 hours at work a day. By the time I get off at 11 am, the leg is hurting pretty good. I take 100 mg of Tramadol before I go to work, but it must be wearing off by that time.
Seedlings are not growing very fast this year. They must know they are not going outside anytime soon. The datura, geraniums and hibiscus just keep right on blooming, so they like it down there.
Time to see what there is to eat. Have a good evening.

Good evening. The weather remained dismal all day long. Judging by the current in the pool cover water, the wind was pretty fierce at times. I'm glad I didn't need to go out in it.
Today was a day that I did almost nothing at all. I laid in bed on the heating pad much of the day. It wasn't until I got up and sat at the computer that I got a clue as to what I may have done to my back. I had the laptop sitting at a peculiar angle which required me to lean my right arm across my body to get to the keyboard. Given how much I was on the computer yesterday, I think I just strained that muscle that I must have kept flexed for a long time. It is still a little sore sometimes, but I do feel better tonight.
Those of you who get the chance to see eagles in the wild are such lucky ducks. DH and I used to drive down along the river to see if we couldn't spot one, and we went with a friend out to a wildlife preserve once with the hope of seeing an eagle. We saw the nest but it was so far away that we saw nothing else. When we weren't even trying to see one, we were surprised to see one fly overhead when we were sitting out at our street fair last year. There was no mistaking that white head and tail.
Gayle, I'm glad you have hope in your forecast. Ours doesn't seem to be showing up until Monday of next week. So long as the day we visit with my uncle and family is nice, I will try to hold my tongue. My aunt keeps a lovely yard, and it is my uncle's hope that we can sit out and enjoy it while the out of town family is here.
Loved the meme this morning, Donna. It is a good reminder when one gets discouraged.
Prayers for those out in or still dealing with the wintry weather that just doesn't want to go away. Have a nice night!
Leroy, I am sure the open MRI will work out much better for you. I wish schedulers would check with people before they set tests up because I think there are a lot of people who cannot use the traditional MRI machines. DH recently had an open MRI with no problem. Now that the technology is available, maybe that is the method the medical profession ought to focus on so as to avoid what happened to you.

Can't say that I did a lot today. A little more work on the lunches - aboout half the days are organised now and my craft group was this afternoon.
That pretty much sums up my day. Still chilly but snow and ice have disappeared.
Just heard on the news that Barbara Bush died today. She was definitely from a ' nicer' era of politics.

Good evening everyone. It was a nice sunny day and temps got way up into the mid 30s....lol. It felt nicer than that because there wasn't much wind.
This morning I met with my tax guy and I am actually getting a refund. It will be just about enough to cover my April heat bill which is good. I hadn't budgeted very much since I wasn't aware that winter would go on forever. I had to take money out of my emergency fund to pay it, so now I can put this back into that fund when I receive it.
While I was in the neighboring town I picked up a variety of bird seed. I think if I experiment I will figure out exactly what my city birds like. I stopped at my brothers store and he gave me 4 feeders and a tray. I planned on paying for them, but he refused to take anything since I am his chauffeur and never charge him for gas. What a guy! I came home and cleaned the feeders and decided just where to hang them. Once that was done I filled the 1st feeder on the deck and walked proudly toward it's destination. The bottom fell out and my feet were hidden under bird seed. All I could do was laugh. I figured out what I had done wrong and filled the feeder again. What was left on the deck, I swept into a near by garden and got the rest of them filled and hung. Tonight 3 of the 5 feeders have been found by birds, but the "big attraction" is where I swept the spilled seed into the snow by the deck....lol.
I didn't have a chance to tell you this morning about my night. At 1:15 AM I awoke to a loud alarm. I got up and by time I got to the bedroom door, it stopped. Well, my worrying didn't. I checked out the smoke alarm and the carbon monoxide detector. All seemed well with them and I even went into the basement to make sure there wasn't a fire or something. I went back to bed as all seemed ok. This morning I put the coffee on and then checked my cell phone as usual. I discovered there had been an amber alert at 1:15 am. Mystery solved. I actually feel better after this incident since I wondered if any of my alarms would wake me at night if I were in a sound sleep...now I know they will since my cell phone was at the farthest point in the house from me.
Gayle...we get about one day per week teasing us about Spring....the other 6 are winter. Glad you saw an Eagle on your way home. I do remember the picture from last year. Eagles are so common here, I failed to realize they aren't everywhere. Next time Kathy comes, I'm taking her to the river north of town where many of them nest and frequent.
Leroy...of how I wish we were getting a touch of snow. Our forecast by is for possibly 8 inches....I can do without that! I know it is not unusual for people to panic when having an MRI. I hope the sedative and open machine works so you can find out what's going on with your leg.
Karen...glad you are feeling somewhat better tonight. Maybe you should not tell DH and say that with the pain your having breakfast in bed would be nice....lol. Hope you can figure out your ancestry problem since I know how much you enjoy it.
I'm going to watch some TV and head to bed....I fear I will wake up to ice/snow. They delayed it from late afternoon today until after midnight. It is what it is. Charlene
edited: Hello, Tasty. I have TV on and have not heard that Barbara Bush died....you get quick news in Canada! Glad your craft group got together.

Evening all. Watching hockey and sitting with the heating pad on my back. Probably overdid my chores this morning so I've been on it many times today, and have used ice once too. I broke down and went to the chiropractor today. My lower left side was so tight she couldn't even adjust it. I'm going back Thursday. The rest of my back and neck adjusted nicely and it felt so good. My low back not so much! Came home and lay on an ice pack for an hour! Really sick of the pain and frustrated that I can't exercise.
Talked to dh. He won't be home until Thursday since he is touring one more mill tomorrow late.
Charlene-Nice you are getting a little refund to pay for Aprils fuel bill. Too bad it couldn't be fun money but at least you stayed warm.
Wishing all a great night.

Tasty, I think you are right about Mrs. Bush being from a different political era that tended to feel 'nicer'. There are some wonderful tributes going on tonight that are very informative. I've learned some things about her I never knew. May she rest in peace.
Oh, my goodness, Charlene, what a time you had with those bird feeders! I'm glad you were able to laugh about the mishap with the one. Good for you on getting a refund on your taxes! Those Amber Alerts that come through on our phones are definitely loud. I'm glad you figured out what had awakened you. The Ancestry thing is solved without me having to do a thing. They must have been having issues on their end because everything was straightened out by today. In case something happens again, I went to my account to see when the membership runs out. I wouldn't have been surprised if it had expired in April because I think it has before, but this year it is in mid July. A few more months of play time before I have to decide what to do. :))

Good evening. Leroy, I know others who are that way about MRIs, and have to be somewhat sedated. Hope the next time it works out so they can find the problem.
Charlene, glad you found out what the alarm was. Those alerts are handy but can make you jump. My phone kept going off Sunday because of the storms, and then the tv did as well.
I picked up 4 bags of compost manure mix, which feels more like large pieces of partially composted material, and one bag of Black Cow manure. Hope to get it out this weekend and then get more. I didn't have time today because I had to make a phone call, which turned into a FB chat because my phone lost service as soon as we started talking. I really need to get it checked out.
Other than that I dealt with more computer issues at work for the second day. I'm going the IT people at our parent company can fix it while I sleep tonight. Lol
Have a good night.
