Better late than never guys and gals.
I have found that when I chop up a head of lettuce and put it in a tupperware container when I buy it I am more apt to eat it and there seems to be less waste. I like mine chopped finely rather than torn. When I used to chop it with a stainless steel knife it turned brown in a just a few days. I got one of those plastic lettuce knife at my DB's 2nd hand store for .50. I find that my lettuce now stays green and crisp until the entire head has been eaten....about 1 week.
What is your tip for today? Charlene

This isn't really a tip, but something I did the other day. Normally I keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my car, but it has been out. I do keep a partial roll of paper towels now, thanks to my deep console compartment in my Highlander. When I picked up compost the other day at Walmart my hands got all muddy. I paid for it in the garden section but didn't want to go to the other side of the store at that time to wash my hands since I planned to load the compost, get gas at the nearby pump and then park near the grocery side to get groceries.
So, while waiting at the pump, I noticed I had a sample bottle of lotion from a motel, that I had pulled out of my suitcase during my recent trip because my hands were really dry. I loaded my hands down and cleaned them off with a paper towel. Now I know what to do with all of those little motel size bottles of lotion. I will keep at least one in the car in case I run out of hand sanitizer and don't have a place to wash my hands. I think I might stop by Lowe's today and check on manure. Might need to use that again since I still haven't picked up hand sanitizer.

I found this the other day and emailed it to myself just for this topic!
These are the posters words, not mine-----Ok ,I have had a few requests to share this again. Please share it to your time-line because I may not find it the next time. Works on every stain I've tried it on !!! The ultimate stain remover that actually works on a seriously set in stain! Never buy oxyclean again!
The mixture is: 1 tsp. Dawn dishwashing detergent 3-4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide couple tablespoons of baking soda. Scrub on with a scrubbing brush

Leslie, that is a reminder as well for me. We always have a roll of paper towels under the passenger seat. They come in handy for so many things like napkins, cleaning windows, cleaning hands etc etc.
