After lunch I went to visit in health center. I had the good rubber band from C-PAP hose and it works good on a little metal sewing machine music box. It makes the foot go up and down and plays a few of my favorite things.
I show it to each and most can hear it. That was first 1.5 hours. Then I did 2 loads of laundry. Had a broomstick crotched shawl that had never been washed and one
of those curly, lace scarves my sister had made. Each in laundry bag to keep them separate. The other poly garments dried the others in dryer. Then did a light load of sweats and towels. Had to get them out of dryer after super.
We had spagatti & meat sauce with bread stick. I had pea salad and then we got strawberry short cake. Had to laugh, they cut a cup cake in half and that made a short cake! I think it should have called another name, but the HS girls that serve aren't always correct in telling us the selection. But it was good.
Tomorrow is dentist, cleaning and setting apt for doing something with tooth that lost part of filling. A lady at our table lost a tooth during the meal. We have such creative conversations at times. I have hard time getting enough sound as most are hard of hearing.
Life is good. and I kept those 3 pounds off. And my room temp is 74. She turned off the hot water. That really helped. Not sure they got that done last summer. Now I can ask each spring if I can remember. Alma

We had an ok day. It got up to almost freezing, but not quite. The sun tried to shine, but not so successful.
I got my pickup to the garage and told him to not hurry if he had other things to do, but I needed it the 1st day they open the dump. They close that for the winter so they don't have to do snow removal out there. They open it when the snow is melted and it is dry enough to drive in there. I have a feeling we are going to have a very muddy spring once this snow melts.
I got a call this evening that my taxes are done. I had a choice of meeting with him at 8 tonight, 9 in the morning or some time after 5 tomorrow. Since I wasn't in the mood to head over tonight, and snow/ice are supposed to start tomorrow afternoon, I chose the 9 am appointment. I certainly hope I don't have to pay a lot in this year. The blood from a turnip quote comes to mind. :|
Alma...it sounds like you are doing better. You're getting out and visiting residents plus doing laundry. Just make sure to take it easy as you still have to recuperate for that wedding!
Hope everyone had a great day. Charlene

Good evening. It sure was a cold one today! Brrr!!! I never imagined needing gloves in April ... other than gardening gloves, but that was the case today. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. We've had very light snow falling on and off all day. We'll have to see what the overnight brings.
I am really emotionally rung out after the way the day started with DM. She has to be too given the stress she was putting on herself. I think she finally did the best she could with what she had, signed the tax papers and sent them in. DSis#3 said DM told her she put her occupation as "retired 80 yr. old." That ought to answer any abnormalities in her tax form, don't you think? She called both DSis#3 and me several times throughout the day with tax questions before DH told her to just sign the paper and mail it. There is no way she will owe anything. Since she and DSis#3 both called while I was out with my cousin, I called them both back. DM acted as if everything were fine, but she was glad to have the papers in the mail. I'll bet! DU is calling me back in a little bit, after he talks to DM, about going to his house to meet up with their long-lost cousin they found through Ancestry. That ought to be interesting because DM has taken a dislike to their cousin's wife. She's a very nice lady but said something that DM took totally wrong. Regardless of what DM decides to do, I am going to my uncle's when the cousins are in town. I like them. When I got home tonight, I discovered that either my Ancestry membership has run out, or something is wrong with their site. I know something is screwy with it because DNA match names are not coming up, but I still can't determine for sure if my membership has expired. It doesn't say anything about that on my profile page. I think I was on there before I went off with my cousin today, but now it is asking me what I want to do. That usually comes up when my membership has expired. Now I have to decide if I "need" to renew it right now, or if I can wait a while. I swear genealogy is addictive, and times like this have me going through withdrawal. LOL!
Well, I am going to get ready for my uncle's call. Perhaps I will come back in a bit. I may do so on Firefox with the ad block on. The typing is acting up like it used to when B&B or ToH ran animated ads. I don't see that now, but something is up. Have a nice night!

Lots of running around tonight. Had to drop the girls off for sports, then home to heat up dinner, which thankfully dh made for us and all I had to do was heat it up. Then off to the band meeting. My son is going to be in marching band next year. Our school has the only competitive marching band north of the twin cities and are usually the state champions. They will have 180 kids in marching band next year. That went a bit later than planned and dd was stuck at the middle school waiting for us to get done. Nice to be home now for the night.
Dh texted me about 7 that he was checked in to his hotel and was heading out to dinner. I'll talk to him when he's done to fill him in on the marching band info.
We had a bald eagle in the yard sitting at the top of a dead tree. It was so awesome to see it so close. I got a few pictures but there were lots of branches in the way. I'll share them tomorrow on the picture thread.
Charlene-I really hope you don't get any more ice/snow. Yuck! We have a slight chance of ice Wed night.
Karen-Your conversations with your mom have to be really frustrating. Hang in there.
Nothing else exciting. I'm ready to get in to my pjs! Have a good night.

Good evening,
This is my 1st stop so since I haven't read anything yet I may end up back here later
We had light showers & apparently fog this morning as school starting time was delayed. It was cooler today too & raining some when I left for work. The sun came out for a little while but it didn't stay.
Nothing exciting to tell you.

With this 2nd onslaught of shingles I began to feel the nerve pain along my spine and in my rib cage again so I haven't done much of anything today.
We had ended up with 14 1/2 inches of snow over the weekend and have 3 to 6 more coming tomorrow night and Wednesday, great. I don't know where I will put the snow when I shovel. We have had 25 + inches in April already but they say back to normal temps will begin next week (fingers crossed). I just hope we don't get high winds again until after the snow drifts melt down so my son and his crew can get the GH back in place and longer, heavier anchors put in.
Tomorrow I have got to clean up and trim all my asparagus ferns. I usually never have problems keeping them green and healthy over the winter but with the pain I was in most of this winter I ignored them completely and boy does it show.
Melissa how lucky to see an eagle! I have only seen one, besides at the Decorah nest, when I was coming home from Charlene's a couple of years ago. It flew across the hiway right in front of my car.

Most of the ice has gone, thank goodness but we may get a little bit of snow by this time tomorrow.
Haven't really done a whole lot today. My main task was curling club related. We have a major renovation starting next Monday. Our building is 60 years old and the floor under the ice badly needs replacing. What we have now is not even level!!! We have been fund raising for over a year and applied for various grants so now, basically, if the members do most of the work, we have enough money. The ''workers' (95% male) are being asked to work an 8 hour day but no lunch was being provided for them. That to me is just wrong so I opened my big mouth and now my job is to arrange a group to provide lunchesl for 6 - 8 workers for 22 days 🤔. Will I never learn? Probably not 🙄.

Wow Kathy thats a lot of snow. I guess a west suburb of Minneapolis got 22" and dh said Green Bay got 24". Thats nuts! I'm surprised you haven't seen more eagles. We see them a lot up here but this was the first time I've had one so close to the house. They are so huge! My bff has been having them by her house lately and she has little dogs. We joke, chihuahua, its whats for dinner!

Hi. Another busy day but hopefully will soon start slowing down. I am just used to playing games. Tomorrow morning I have kidney Dr. And then the arthritis Dr. Then come home and walk Jack and then Shelly. Dh has a Dr. Appointment in the afternoon. I sure wish he drove at times like this. Kathy- I am surprised also that you have only seen one eagle. We see them all the time when in North Dakota and Minnesota. In fact last year I caught 4 of them at one time on our camera. What a beautiful sight.
Have a great evening. ELAINE

I think because of how big this city has become (183,000) is why I don't see eagles. I am never out in the rural areas anymore.
Love the "chihuahua, its whats for dinner", lol.
