Morning All, I finished C. J. Box’s DISAPPEARED (Joe Pickett) yesterday during the blizzard. The ending leads me to believe that there will be another book in the near future. Next up is Karen Harper’s CHASING SHADOWS, the first book in her chasing shadows series. “ The dead still talk if you know how to listen…
Every case that Claire Britten cracks is a win, not only professionally but personally. The forensic psychologist has spent a lifetime fighting a neurological disorder, and her ability to conquer it is a testament to her razor-sharp intuition.
Nick Markwood is used to winning in the courtroom, so when his latest case is overthrown by Claire's expert testimony, he can't help being impressed by her skill. He needs her on the team of his passion project -- investigating unusual cases involving mysterious deaths. Her condition doesn't deter him, and neither does the attraction that sparks between them…even if it should.
As they join forces to investigate a murder in St. Augustine, Florida, Claire is thrust into a situation far more dangerous than she'd anticipated, pushing her disorder to a breaking point. Just when she fears she can't trust her own mind, she discovers Nick's personal connection to the case -- and wonders whether she can trust anyone at all.” Marlene

Morn8ng, Marlene & others later! What better time to enjoy a book than during a blizzard. No storms here but I did do a lot of reading since I was home alone.
I finished David Baldacci’s Hour Game in the King & Maxwell series. On to the next, Simple Genius. The following book is on hold. It may not arrive in a timely fashion. However, I have Jojo Moyes’ Last Letter from your Lover waiting to go.

I know many of you have read the Harry Bosch books. Just wondering if anyone has watched the Amazon series? I happened to see it advertised.
I have no book going right now. Guess I'm on a break. Have just had no time to read with activities.

I am reading "Every Note Played" by Eva Genova. She also wrote "Still Alice", "Inside The O'Brians" both of which I have read plus a couple of others.
She is a Neuro Sientist and this one is about a classical pianist who has ALS. Lou Gehrigs disease. Her books are excellent but very depressing. The others that I have read deal with Alzheimers and Hodgekins disease. She is a brillant author.

I'm about a third of the way thru Flat Broke with Two Goats by Jennifer McGaha. It's non fiction and listed as biography and autobiography. A bankrupt couple and the problems they faced as they were forced to move to a cabin in NC. Interesting enough to keep me reading and wanting to get back to my book.

Well, as much as I wanted to read The Shack, I finally ended up taking it back to the library. I did read the first 110 pages, but when I had time to read and found every excuse not to pick it up and read, I knew it had to go back unfinished. Sad to say, I guess I'll never know what all the hype was about this book as it just wasn't my cup of tea.
I am now happily reading and enjoying From Here to Home by Marie Bostwick. It is a sequel to Between Heaven and Texas, but my library didn't have that book to begin with. However after the librarian told me this could be read as a standalone, decided I'd give it a try. Only 3 chapters read, so all I can honestly say is that so far the characters and the situations are realistic and relatable.
Although the day was gloomy and we were under a tornado watch, my day left me no time to read. I hope those of you with the blizzard and/or freezing rain conditions can take advantage of some extra reading time. Stay safe.
