Good morning friends.
Tammy, Very happy to hear that the Dr.'s found what is ailing your DGD and took care of it. Hugs to her.
Welcome back Tasty! I just recently mentioned to DH and the kids that we should visit Williamsburg, Va one year soon. Yes, get to the dr. and find out what's causing your balance to be off. Hugs to you too.
Angela, I too wouldn't mind cleaning the dishes if someone cooked the food for me .
Kay, Sub sandwiches are always good to eat when it's too hot to cook.
Lori, Bet you're happy to keep busy with the various sub jobs. It's nice to move from different locations.
Chris, I always make my own meatballs. The only time I don't is when I make the meatball appetizer with chili sauce and grape jelly.
Ann, Still good with the job so far.
Sara, What state do you live in? You mentioned you don't have lobsters available so I was curious.
(((Helen & DH))) thinking of you.
Jan has problems logging in again. I will try to touch base with her later.
I'm making a small boneless pork loin for dinner tonight. A side of broccoli rabe for DH and string beans for us. Not sure on the starch yet.
Waving to all.
Enjoy your day.
Nancy

No call as of yet, so it looks like I'll be working at home today. Okay with me, lots to do around the house. Would like to also get a bag of items together that I will donate for a brand new teacher/first job. I subbed for her last week and saw how little she has--with over 30+ years, I had a lot when I retired. I've been donating so much of it the past year, but still have enough to help another person. I know how much everything costs and remember how much I appreciated it when somebody donated me items in the beginning.
Already got all my ironing done this morning, now off to clean the bathrooms.
Dinner cooked all night in the slow cooker--Sweet and Sour Pork. I'll serve it over rice and have marinated cukes on the side.
Have a great day friends. Lori

Good morning. 54 and sunny. Promising to be a nice day. Had plans to get more done in the house since I didn't yesterday but don't think that is going to happen. Can't waste these sunny days with so much to get done outside also.
We were served lasagna at the meeting last night so have enough left over for dinner tonight. Dessert was apple pie and I brought that home also.
Hugs to all that need them.
Have a great day.

Good morning all.
My daughters are on fall break so we have been gone. Nice to have them off and resting.
Raining here today due to a tropical storm. Very warm though.
We are working on my son's room as he moved and got his own place. We have been fall cleaning and painting. Today we are taking the dog to the vet for shots and we will go out to lunch. After that flu shots for the girls.
Dinner will be fresh tomato sauce pasta and cobb salad.
Have a great day.

"Welcome back Tasty! I just recently mentioned to DH and the kids that we should visit Williamsburg, Va one year soon. "
Nancy - Williamsburg is such a beautiful place. As hubby and I were both brought up in the UK, we learned quite a different version of history than is taught in schools in the US. So when we visited the battlefields it really was quite funny as , of course, we were surrounded by Americans, and as soon as we open our mouths, it is very obvious that we are not American but "the enemy". Lots of laughs. We didn't do much historical stuff this trip, mainly relaxed and played lots of golf. If you do get the chance to get there with the girls, you MUST go to Colonial Williamsburg. I think my favourite place is the farm, set up as it would have been, back in the day. Employees dressed in the costumes of the day and they are so knowledgeable about their area of expertise, whether that is growing tobacco or the blacksmith, shoeing the horses and making nails or hinges for the buildings. The shoemaker is interesting. The last time we were there, the printer was fascinating to talk to. It was quiet and he had gone thru his spiel about what the printer would have done but then we got him talking about his own working life and some of the things he had done. Be prepared to spend the whole day there, 2 days if you have the time.
I have an appointment to see the doctor this afternoon so hopefully he will give me something and I will be able to do whatever I want. Not being comfortable even walking, is not pleasant.
We'll decide on supper later - it could well be hubby cooking again.

Good Morning All: Sun is out nice and bright and temps have been running about the same daily. I like the fall season best probably - could be because I celebrate my birthday in the fall. ;) Temps have been rather similar daily. I don't mind the seasons though. I wish that I could find more recipes for the 2 qt. crockpot and not have to do the math for 2 or 3 servings. I can do the division BUT it is annoying (to me)!! That is my story and I am sticking to it. Need to check the freezer and see what I have to pull out for the crockpot. I am leaning toward a sweet and sour pork dish (maybe not today but soon). I need to get this day started. Have a good day All!! CUL

Good morning Geema - good to see you over here. Lori, I know you will be happy to spend 2 straight weeks with the little ones and will probably be glad of a break afterwards. Bet, yes, we need to take advantage of the glorious weather we are having right now. I have quite a bit if weeding to get done after the rain while we were away but that will have to wait until I get my balance back. Don't want to end up face first in the dirt > Chris, it will soon be HC weather here in Ontario - love one on a cold snowy day, when I 'm tucked up safe and snug indoors. Betsy - enjoy the time with the girls while they're on break. Have a terrific Tuesday'

Good Tuesday morning to everyone. Nancy I live in Des Moines, Iowa and they do have lobster in some restaurants but I know they can't be as good or fresh as Maine. We have one special restaurant called Waterfront that gets them fresh, but how fresh can that be. Also have a restaurant call Red Lobster that everyone seems to like. The lobster here is very, very expensive and I don't want to try something I don't know if I like for the high prices they want. I wish I could try a bite or two to be sure I like it before I ordered. I guess about everybody I know really likes lobster. I made up my mind yesterday to make meatloaf patties out of the hamburger I had thawed, so will be eating that for supper tonight along with mashed potatoes and corn. I think I might make some jello this morning that will be my dessert. I hope everyone will have a good day and I will talk to you later.

Easy does it, Chris! You're sputtering HC all over the place! LOL Sorry, not funny to have a young one telling you how it is! Tough to hold your cool. Sure hope the rest of your day goes better.
Everyone has their day all figured out as usual. Here I am just sitting around highly unmotivated. Do know I need to go through my fridge. No need for science experiments! Do have a large bowl of tomatoes that I need to see to. That certainly will take care of the best part of one shelf & then on we go to the others!
Tasty, feel better soon. Feeling unbalanced can't be fun & must have put a damper on your vacation. Hopefully the doctor will have some idea what is going on.
See you all later. Have a good day.

Afternoon, friends! We got over an inch of much needed rain yesterday. Rejoicing! Fog was thick this morning, but now the sun is out, and the air Nancy - I'm lazy about making my own meatballs...use Aldi's. I don't make appetizers much anymore since we don't have company celebrations, but I used to make meatballs with 16 ounces of Catalina salad dressing and a 12oz jar of orange marmalade, 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper flakes to taste. Another good one is a 14-ounce can jellied cranberry sauce and a 12-ounce Chili sauce. I've cooked broccolini thinking it was rabe! We liked it blanched then cooked in garlic oil. Chris - Not a good way to start your day with a mouthy, pipsqueaking brat. You are brave driving by yourself to the BB lunch!!!! How many usually attend? How long is the drive? Angela - I would hang around for hours after getting up, too, if I didn't have to get out to the senior center. I cook for my mom who lives upstairs from us (2-family house). Thanks for the link on the bears, etc. I enjoyed looking at it. Tasty - Hope doctor "cures" you! Being dizzy is no fun. I visited Williamsburg twice many years ago. I bought some printed "posters" at the printer's shop and decoupaged them...! Lori - Dinner sounds great! Nice of you to share your teaching wealth with another teacher. I think I finally gave the last of my stuff to a friend at the senior center who has a granddaughter just starting out in teaching. The grandmother is a retired teacher, and she was so excited about helping out!!! We sat in the senior center dining room writing down our tried and true tips for her!!! Bet - Just made some lasagna rollups...had 4 whole wheat lasagna noodles left and some ricotta to use. Yesterday, I made some roasted peppers, onions, and mushrooms and I mixed some of those into the ricotta and rolled! Used some bottled fradiavolo sauce. Betsy - No fall break around here! School officials play it safe because of snow days! There is a long weekend for Columbus day. I could have used a break back when I was teaching because fall is when I usually got a humdinger of a head cold! Geema - I sent you some links for small crockpot recipes. Hope you don't already have them all!!!! LOL Sara - My mom makes those meatloaf burgers! They are very good! Last night's slow cooker hash and eggs was really good. I usually make hash from a boiled dinner. Tonight we are having "Favorite Hamburger Stew" with bear burger!!! I got some onion rolls from the senior center that I will heat to go with it along with a side salad. Enjoy the evening! Waving!!
