Good morning friends.
Well it's the first week of school and work for me. Homework kicks in now for youngest DD.
Chicken Francese for dinner tonight with linguine. I made the chicken yesterday so all I have to do is put it in the oven tonight.
Waving to all.
Enjoy your day.

I didn't get on yesterday because I'm transitioning from my old computer to a new (to me) laptop -- takes a lot of time to get everything set up! Thank goodness I have my personal IT guy --DH -- to help.
Lots of good cooking going on yesterday. Not so much here. We've gotten a lot done, though -- cleaned out the storage room and closet shelves at my mom's on Saturday. Threw out lots of stuff, and found some treasures too. Yesterday afternoon I finished the housecleaning that didn't get done Saturday morning, and got the bathroom cabinets cleaned out and reorganized -- that had needed doing for a while and I'm so happy to have it taken care of.
Dinner tonight will probably be cordon bleu stuffed chicken breasts from the freezer.

Good Morning ! Drinking my cup of tea, and deciding where we will be going today. We already did the central loop so now the choice is the north loop of the White mts, or the south loop. Today is clear and sunny and I think tomorrow will be also.
DGD got released from the hospital but she is not much better. They still don't know what is causing the pain. The stomach migraine meds did nothing to help. She does have some pain med, and they are trying to get an appointment with a GI dr asap.
I have some pork chops in the fridge so if I even cook supper that's what I'll cook. I'll use a recipe for some baked parmesan breaded chops. Will have to use the convection oven, so hope it works well.
DH is finished in the bathroom so it's my turn. Better go and get ready.
It got so cool lastnight that DH got up around 2:30 and turned on the furnace!

I have chicken roasting in the oven for Ina Garten's Chicken Stew with biscuits. Then I'll have to make cookies to use as bribe for high schooler down the street. He said he will dig up my little current bush for oatmeal cookies. I'll be the first to admit I don't even like to make cookies, but his Mom doesn't even cook, so what could I say?
Nancy, have a good day at work!
EMR, your chicken breasts sound really good. I love things you can freeze ahead.
Tamaralynn, happy travels today.

Finished mowing yard at 10:00 this morning. so have a doctors appt. at 2 so will get a shower and be on my way. I have appt. to get hair done tomorrow but need to take MIL to ear doctor. He did not get it cleaned out good last time so will have to go to Hearing aid place also. Really not what I want to do but she can not hear.
So not much else going on here, sounds like you are having a nice trip Tammy. I bet it is nice to see everything you are interested in too. I have never been to east coast except flying to Florida.
Nancy hope the job works out for you and you like it. I am sure you will be good with kids too.

Good Monday morning to everyone. I'm moving real slow again today, nothing done except talking on the phone to friends. I had two calls from different friends and I think it is more important to stay in contact with them and have a good visit. Good for a person's health! Housework will always be here and can wait until I'm ready--lol. I have no idea what I will be eating today, but pretty sure it will be something I don't have to cook. My granddaughter is coming over later so I think I will have her bring me a butterfinger blizzard from dairy queen, that will be my lunch. Chris where are you this morning, are you busy drinking your HC? I hope you are not having a hard day at work. Take care and enjoy an HC for me today. Well guess I will go and see what I can get done or NOT. Have a good day everyone.

No work for today, but picked up a day in October at the school just 5 minutes from the house.
Not a lot happening, just getting some things done around the house since I didn't get to them on the weekend. Dinner is going to be the pot roast tonight with mashed potatoes and gravy, and some green vegetable that I have frozen.
Nancy, hope work went well today.
Elza, good for you getting things sorted, that belonged to your DM, after her passing. My DM passed away 10 1/2 years ago, and I still have containers to go through!
Tammy, I just had to shake my head reading that you had to turn on the furnace because it got so cool last night. I'd gladly share some of our heat with you--we've had something like 8 days straight of 95* for our high. This is the time of year the heat gets to me as it's been so hot for so long. Forecasters announced yesterday that we set a new record with the hottest summer temperatures on record. Believe me, we felt it! Sure hope they can get you DGD into a specialist quickly. Sending her some healing hugs!
Valerian, hope your neighbor boy enjoys every bite of those oatmeal cookies!
Marlene, I FIL is always going to the ear doctor with his hearing aide. Guess the ear wax builds up so fast that it's every 3 to 4 weeks he has to get the ears cleaned and the device cleaned. Good luck with your doctor appointment this afternoon and I hope tomorrow you'll be able to fit in a haircut for yourself.
Waving hello to all! Lori

Afternoon, friends! Beautiful day today; didn't have to turn on the heat, but I did put on a flannel shirt and shut the windows! Yea!!!
Last night's ribs were beyond outstanding! We LOVED the vanilla/brown sugar glaze that DH brushed on them as he grilled them. The combo of the smoky hot on the rub I put on earlier was tasty. Instead of microwaving them, he decided to do the original instruction...simmering them....I got some really good broth out of the deal (no glaze) so I'm going to make some sort of soup with it...maybe black bean!
Tonight we are having more chili.
I tried to install a new router today...didn't cooperate...dang Verizon. Our neighbor just gave us an Amazon Fire stick for Prime, and he said he would call and have a tech visit us. I'm back with the original router that Verizon said was too obsolete to work so we had to buy another...hmmm! Can't sit and chat at the moment. Waving to all. Oh, I made TOH's "Pear Gingerbread Cake" this morning. Excellent and easy!

We had chicken/gravy, mashed potatoes, and broccoli for supper. I second Lori's lament about the Florida heat. It totally wears a body down. It looks like rain now but could just as easily pass us over. I need to do a big shopping trip tomorrow so hope for a good nite's sleep. Hugs to all.

Helen & Lori, I sympathize with the constant heat you guys have during the summer months. This summer we have had the hottest summer I can remember in the almost 40 years we have lived in Canada. Dry heat I can handle but the humidity is just a real killer.
Hope you get a good night's sleep Helen and have a good shopping day tomorrow.
Hubby' and I golfed today at a new to us course. It's always kind of fun to play somewhere new. Anyway, after that we came back home and decided to go out to eat. Hubby had pizza and I had lasagne. It was good.
