Morning all! Have a nice visit with your Mom, Chris and of course, your mini vacay at Starbucks! We know you love your HC!
Glad you got a chance to sleep in, Nancy! Wish I could have slept, never mind slept in! LOL Always something for me to crab about. Btw, when do you start your new job or possibly you have already?
Marlene, I am thinking of you today. Hope things go reasonably well & the drama is kept to a low roar. You certainly don't need this. This has been a year from hell for you, no question. Good thing you are such a strong woman! Less strong among us would have caved in by now. (((Hugs))) my friend. Drive safely.
Quiet day here. Was going to go to the grandparents' pancake breakfast at our community center but no sleep has pretty much wiped out my wanting to get going! So, will just veg around home today.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone. See you later.

Good morning everyone.
I am about to take the dogs on a run but thought I would check in. We are grilling burgers today. I pinned a burger on Pinterest so will try it today. Football Sunday is big in our house.
We have to replace the AC units. It's repaired but they are over 15 years old so it is time. Yuck. I will get some estimates.
I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.

Good Sunday morning to everyone. It looks like it is a beautiful morning with sunshine and nice temperatures. I think we have several good days coming this week, better enjoy as I know what is coming soon. I have company coming shortly so will have to get off here soon. I don't know yet what I will have for lunch or supper today, I sure didn't have anything to write home about yesterday. Angela I know what you mean about not getting any sleep, just wish I knew how to make it better for both of us. I was wide awake most of the night, finally fell asleep around 4 or 5 this morning.I hope you have a good day and a better night tonight. Marlene you are probably there already this morning, hope everything will go smoothly for you, holding you up in prayer today ((())). I will try to get back here today after my company leaves. Have a good day and see you later.

Happy Sunday! A thunderstorm blew through here around 10:30 that brought drier weather...yea!
Last night's Veal Saltimbocca was fantastic...we have leftovers. :D
Tonight we are having ribs, a form of succotash, and leftover mac & cheese.
Hugs, Marlene...I know you are going to move eventually, but is there someplace you could plant a shrub or tree in honor of your brother? I have done that, in the Israeli tradition, for a number of years. Still thinking on what to plant for my DB. He couldn't garden because of his weight, but he read seed catalogs, etc. avidly and was a wealth of knowledge.
I swear my sleep patterns depend on the cycles of the moon!!! The last two nights, I slept like a rock getting up only once and falling deeply asleep again. Other nights, I'm "awake" in bed for hours before deciding to get up.
Betsy - Too bad about the AC. We got a new window unit for my mom and for us...we had to pay to get it installed. DH cannot lift the heavy units anymore. We will keep it in the window this winter. Looking into covers...pros & cons...any advice, anyone? Waving to all!

Wow, here it is afternoon--not sure why the day is flying by, but I 'd like it to slow now since I have so much to do.
Began my day baking 28 pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for the freezer. Next, I placed an "unstuffed" cabbage roll casserole in the oven to bake (have about 30 mins. left). Cooking on the stove top right now is the chicken for my rice chicken which I'll place into the oven when the above casserole is done. After that I have a beef roast that I'll bake in the oven.
Going to do some ironing for awhile, in between the washing/drying of bedding. If time allows later, I'd like to bake a banana blueberry cake.
Thought I'd share some interesting info. on the school I will be subbing at on Tuesday. It is a beautiful school, older then dirt, and currently is where most of the big named doctors in town send their children. However, way back in the day, it was the elementary school for two famous stars in Hollywood: Polly Holiday (Flo the waitress--Kiss My Grits- from the series Alice during the 70's) and Paul Reuben (Pee-Wee Herman--Playhouse).
((Marlene))
Chris, thanks for letting me know about the Rice-A-Rama---I saw rice and thought it was a food event! LOL!
Currently 90*, storms are building to the southeast. Forecasters say it's suppose to be a wet week for us.
Need to go--I'll try to stop by later. Lori

Dinner ended up being rice chicken for DH and I. Plenty left for future meals. Climbed to 94* for our high and as of this 7PM, it has dropped back down to 91*. Time to sit down and relax a bit. Goodnight. Lori

A quick hello to everyone. We made it to church this morning the some Mexican food for lunch. Then in the same shopping center was the movie theater so we went and watched the movie "Sully". It was very good. When I got home I took a nap. Since that time I have been on the computer looking at campground websites and trying to plan the rest of our stay in the northeast. I hope everyone has enjoyed the day. Chris, hope you had a good visit with your mom. Nancy, glad you enjoyed sleeping in a little, now that you are a working girl! Marlene, I hope things went well with the family today.
We just ate a fried Spam sandwich for supper. I tried my oven again and it is not working at all. Glad I have the microw/convection oven.
Until tomorrow......

Been home for awhile, my Mums I have on the front and back needed water. I got them at Wal Mart and the water comes out of containers so found things to put underneath to catch the water. I only had one of the plastic things that come with plants so used bigger pie plates and worked good. I don't use those so perfect ! Red was so glad to see me he won't leave me. he was on my lap and then fell asleep on the "claw foot table" then I came her on computer and here he is at the bottom of my chair. I think he missed me!!
It went pretty well today, one of my nephews was there picking out things and he bought one of the cars for sister, which was so nice. I brought one of those long handle trimmers for trees home, it clips the branches and a hammer. They have a house full to clean out can't believe they will get it cleaned out. I think there will be a big mess for me left there. My nephew will bring down his dump truck if they need it. Will see how it goes. They are having a three sale.
Better go get something to eat I took a dessert and no dinner so need to eat. Thank you for all for thinking of me, I was kind of proud of myself today kept my cool. I did say I was not proud of the daughter putting a picture of brother on Facebook and I meant that!! Marlene

I had a good visit with my mom for the most part. We took her to Panera Bread to eat. After we took her home she got confused. Insisted that someone was coming in and taking her belongings. I did find her things she thought were gone. It is hard to see her this way. WE came home and I made fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob, cukes and a tomato goat cheese salad. All tasted very good. Chris, I can't imagine seeing my mum like that, confused. She doesn't hear well a d can no longer read and write because of her sight, but her mind is still totally sharp. So, with the help of her hearing aid, we manage to have god conversations at least once a week.
Marlene, I'm proud of you, keeping your cool.
Tammy, I haven't been shopping in North Conway for a long time but used to have a great time down there. Hubby and I have been a few times and I've also taken Mum. Her cousin used to live not far from North Conway and Mum spent some time there with him and his wife. I drove down to bring her home and we stopped there.
I think after the good reports from you and Elza on 'Sully' I would like to go and see it. Will have to check when it's coming to town.
Supper tonight was a quick chicken salad. Nothing exciting but it suited a hot evening.
Hugs to all.
