:-S I just wrote a huge long post and went to click on post, and my computer tells me I am not connected to the internet! I was connected to the campground internet, but it likes to disconnect you for no reason, so wont' use it again.
I clicked on the "drafts enabled" on my account settings but I don't see a "lifesaver" to click on. Can someone tell me how to save a draft and get back a lost post?
We made it King Arthur flour. It's a nice building with a café, a big store and there's a glass window where you can watch the bakers. I only bought some bread, pizza seasonings, and Vermont Common Crackers.
I did not notice any information about a tour.
We left there and drove east, and we ended up in Hanover, New Hampshire. Our friend said it was a pretty town so we drove around and discovered Dartmouth U. We don't follow college football and not being from the N.E. we did not know it was located there! It's a beautiful campus.
If someone had asked this morning if I would see a zebra today I would have laughed at them. But, lo and behold, while chasing down some more covered bridges we looked at the top of the hill and there was a zebra! He was in a fenced in pasture and had a big barn.
We started looking for a place to eat lunch and ran across the Hartland Diner. It was quite a lucky find! The place doesn't look like much from the outside, and inside it is yellow and teal colored. The menu is hilarious to read. Someone has quite a sense of humor there. We got the onion rings-fabulous! DH got a shaved steak sandwich with grilled onions and cheese, and I got a turkey club. Easily one of the best sandwiches I ever have eaten. I got it on rye. We were full but could not resist the homemade pie. We shared a slice of maple cream. It was wonderful! The décor inside is wild-tissue paper flowers that hang from the ceiling. Plastic dinosaurs that line the counter! It is a fun place with an extensive breakfast menu, breakfast that is served all day. I'm gong to tell Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives about them.
We are still full so no supper for us but we might cut into the fresh bread.
As far as our plans for next year we are unsure. Our friend Deb told us about volunteer dot gov website. We have been thinking about being camp hosts, or something along those lines. Lastnight on the website I found an ad wanting a couple for general maintenance at the Tennessee Natural Wildlife Refuge in Springville. We don't plan any more big trips in the RV, and we don't want to be tied down to a job or house payments yet. We want to be free to be in Amarillo in May for DGD's high school graduation, and then go to a family reunion in June in Kansas. So, we sent in our application and if accepted we will work July-Oct.
Marlene, so sorry about your brother being so ill. Glad there is no pain.
I hope it's been a nice day for everyone. It has been very nice here so far- the rain is coming around 5 I read. I will miss our friend who passed yesterday-he was truly a nice gentleman and so kind. Thank you for the kind words.

Tammy- I know exactly where you were!! We have seen the Zebra a lot. I should have told you about the Gelato place in Hanover. DH and I go there often. We have eaten at the Harland Diner it sure is great! WE might not be able to catch up as Thorton NH is North of here. I can see you when you come back down to the Keene area. Chris

DH was searching around on the web and found an article that appeared on the news about the zebra. His name is Zeus. The owner said she has always wanted a zebra and so bought one from California when she found out there were no restrictions against it.
I did go online and submitted the name of the Hartland Diner to triple D.
Chris, we leave tomorrow and will be staying 7 nights in Thornton. After that we head down to Ashuelot and we'll be there 7 nights. Right now we have no certain plans for any day so we are flexible to meet up. Since we are retired every day is a weekend for us!

We had meatloaf, roasted potato quarters, cheesy cauliflower, and marinated beets. Enough left over for meatloaf sandwiches later. Yay! Thanks to all for the extra gentle hugs. I am a sight, for sure. People must wonder which fight I lost. I am sorry about your brother, Marlene. I still cry for mine. And sorry for the loss of your friend, Tammy. Good friends are hard to lose. Congrats, Nancy, on your new job. I am so happy it has worked out for you. Sweet dreams.

Just a quick hi tonight. Have had a busy running around kind of day. We've been home for a short while now. Groceries put away and now, just a quiet evening.
Marlene, my heart goes out to you. Such a difficult time for you and your family. Last year at this time my sweet sister in law passed away after a lot of suffering. Like your brother she was heavily medicated which was a blessing.
Nancy, happy for you to have found a job that fits in so well with your girls' lives. Sure makes life easier when you are off on the same days & weeks.
Have a good night everyone. Will be sure to check in tomorrow.
