I was wondering if some of you might have a full proof bread recipe. I just ordered one of those bread making machine. I only want to use whole wheat flour. I'm not a bread baker, but I want to give it a good try....Thanks if you can share yours with me.

Thank you EZ....There are some great recipes on that site. I downloaded them. Only problem is we don't have that brand of flour. I will go to a health store and see if I can get some that is acceptable. I would like some with different seeds. Then again I will have to get that separately and add. Thanks again.

Stella,
Do you have Bulk Barn Stores in Quebec? We have them in Ontario and I buy a lot of my bread flour from them. The other one I really like a lot is a multigrain by Robin Hood. Love that one. I can't always find it and I've only ever been able to buy it in 10kg bags.

This is the recipe I use most of the time with my bread maker. I use it with white flour, whole wheat or the multigrain flour mentioned above. If you want more recipes, I have lots that I like but this one is my "go to" - maybe I should say, it is the one I have the quantities memorized.
I should also mention that I never bake the bread in the bread maker - the hole(s) that the paddle(s) leave just get in the way so I bake my bread in the regular oven. In my oven, that is 375/380 for about 26 minutes.
White sandwich bread
1 cup warm water 2 tbsp sugar 2 ½ tsp yeast ¼ cup oil 3 cups bread flour 1 ½ tsp salt
To the bread pan add 1 cup very warm water, sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes - it will start to foam a bit. Add oil then the flour and then salt.
Set the bread machine to a dough setting.
When the machine is done, turn the dough out onto a floured board and kneed just a few times. Form into a loaf shape. Spray or grease a loaf pan and put dough in the loaf pan. Let it rise for about 1 hour - it should rise a little above the top of the pan. Heat the oven to 350 then bake for about 25 - 30 minutes or until golden. Let it sit for a few minutes before turning out of the pan

Yes Tasty, we do have the Bulk Barn. Thanks for the tip. I have only been once to the Bulk Barn and really like it. So much to chose from. Will check out the flour you posted. I do not plan to make bread with white flour unless it's for a pizza. I'm trying to eat better....with lots of fiber.

Thanks, Tasty! This is the recipe I have been using. However, your steps are clearer & I have copied the recipe for future reference.

Thanks Ann! Here is my first try. I used whole wheat flour, natural (unbleached sugar) sea salt, bread machine yeast, 2 tbsp of soft butter, water. Love it.

Oh, I sure wish I could share some with you!!!! My friend/neighbour and I went to see a French movie last night. On the way I had buttered a small piece of the bread so she \ can taste it. Short of screaming, she loved it. I had her come in so I can slice a nice piece for breakfast this morning. Waiting for her comments....lol
The funny part to my bread making story. My daughter has been using one of these bread making machines for a couple of years now. We love her pizza dough. So when she saw the picture I sent her of the bread, she asked for my recipes...well the ones that come out good.
Just a question here.....the recipe called for 2 tsp of regular fast rising yeast, but I only had the break making machine yeast, and I put in 2 1/4 tsp figuring if it equals one package of dry yeast then it should work. Well it did. What do you think?

I have used yeast other than the machine yeast at times and couldn't really notice the difference.

I have never used machine yeast when making dough in my machine. However I don't bake it the machine. I only use if for making the dough. I have always used my regular bread recipes as long as they don't require more flour than the machine recipes call for.
