I have a food saver. It is my second one in well over 20 years. The old one still works but is heavy and not easy to store. I use it I would say weekly. Almost any food that goes in my freezers is first vacuumed sealed. I do also use the ziplock vacuum bags which are great. If I need just a little bit of cheese or just one burger patty. Just pull it out and vacuum it back up. It may seem that the bags and rolls my be expensive but when you consider that food lasts way longer as it is kept at zero degrees and the texture and moisture are not lost it is well worth it.

I think ours is a Foodsaver and also the 2nd one we've owned. I really like it... a lot. The only problem is the I like to freeze the stuff in the bag first then get it back out and vacu-seal it, but it works good. Bet there's a better way but that's how I do it so everything lays flat and uniform.

We have one but don't use it as frequently as Bet does. Here it is when we go to Costco, 3 hours away & stock up on meat. We repackage & freeze in smaller amounts. Also have done fish when the ice fishing has been great. Very pleased with it.

I freeze a lot of things on a cookie sheet in a single layer with double waxed paper between the layers than put it in the bags and vacuum.

I have a Food Saver and do like it. Use it mostly for repackaging meat when I buy in bulk or garden produce. I don't use it for everything - if something is only going to be in the freezer for a couple of weeks I don't bother with it but it certainly keeps meat good for a long time.

Just finished using mine and also ordering rolls from the net. Don't buy them from Food Saver....shop around the internet for the best price. I got mine this time and last from www.houseables.com I believe Costco sells them in a variety pack but I don't use all those sizes and shapes, just buy the 8" x 50' rolls. We've had them for many years and love it. Can't beat it for keeping fish, especially, from freezer burning. Also if I am freezing something juicy like hamburger or chicken breasts I portion out the amount I will put into the vacuum bag and first wrap in plastic wrap, freeze until hard and then vacuum pack.

I have a FoodSaver home vacuum packaging system and love it! Have been using it a good 10 years now and can't imagine life without it. I mainly use it for meat---I never have to worry about freezer burn. Lori
