A quick hello this evening.
As per the last weather update at 5PM, the tropical stuff looks like it will move in further north then originally projected. Forecasters say we will not have to worry much about wind, but they are still saying we'll see a lot of heavy rains. No two stations are the same--estimated amounts could be as low as 4" up to 10". We'll see.
Called to sub at the same school as yesterday for 2nd grade today. After I accepted the position, they changed it from a full day to only a half, however, that was fine as it gave me time to run to the post office and do a few things around the house once I came home.
Dinner was French (dressing) Chicken, corn casserole, and leftover green beans and tomatoes. Goodnight friends.

Good evening friends, hope you all had a good day. I have had a real busy day, well busy for me anyway. I will try to get here much earlier tomorrow and talk a little more. I had cucumbers and onions in the vinegar and water mix, think I could eat them everyday I like them so well. Also had small cherry tomatoes and crackers for supper, strange supper I know but just didn't want to fix anything. Have a good night and will talk to you tomorrow.

Hi ! It's been a busy day. We went into Montreal by bus and boarded a double decker bus and took a tour of the city. We returned to the area called Old Montreal, but were a little disappointed after seeing Quebec. Quebec has and entire area of preserved buildings. When you are there if you close your eyes you can imagine that it's the 18th century. In Montreal only a few buildings are still around. We don't plan on going back. Tomorrow we plan on going to the botanical gardens. I guess we will take the bus again or the underground since we bought a 3 day pass. Our neighbor warned us not to try and drive because of the traffic and all the construction.
Dinner lastnight was not all that great. I thought DH was going to grill them on the propane grill but he cooked them outside over a wood fire-the wood was spruce. It made my pork chop really bitter. He liked his though. then I decided to make crash potatoes with the potatoes I had from P.E.I.. I cooked them in the microwave then smashed them, then topped them with olive oil and salt and pepper and a little oregano. I turned the oven on and when DH put the chops on I popped the potatoes in the oven. Well.....my oven decided to go on the blink. It barely got hot. I tried the broiler but it did not really work either, so our potatoes were barely cooked. DH just now messed around with it and told me it's working ok tonight. Go figure.
For lunch we ran across a Mexican fast food place so I got a taco and DH got a burrito. Tonight I decided to make crepes. I saw some creperie restaurants today and that got me hungry for them. I have not actually made the large skillet size kind. We went by the store and they did not have a mix so I used Bisquick. I sliced some apples and put those in first for a couple of minutes after I sprayed the pan and also put in a dab of butter. Then I poured the batter on. I waited until it got really brown and then tried to turn it. It totally fell apart! The second one did too, but they tasted really great! guess I will leave making large crepes to the experts!
I did see some bacon maple seasoning at the store! I wondered if they had any kind of maple flavor seasoning up here since it is maple country.
Bet, you had asked about us coming to New York. We don't have plans to do that right now, but that could change. If we have the time we might make a trip to the Fort.
DH says the campground we are staying at is in Randolph. I think it is actually called Lake Champagne campground. (When we get to Vermont on the 2nd).
Tasty-do you Canadians celebrate Labor Day the same weekend as the USA? We have to leave here on Thursday morning but are not booked at the place in Vermont until Friday might so we need to find a spot. I said we should stay in Canada one more day since the campgrounds in the USA probably will be all booked up. Then today we heard the tour guide mention something about Labor Day weekend. If that's the case then I won't be surprised if we have some trouble finding a spot. We might be looking for a Walmart!!
We are beat, so I think it will be early to bed for us.

Helen, glad to hear that the worst of the rain is missing you. Hope the rain is not too bad Lori - 4" - 10" sounds awful. Stay safe.
Yes, Tammy - Labour Day w/e is the same here as in the US. I would definitely advise not driving in downtown Montreal.

What is toast soldiers?? Never heard of them. Sara, toast soldiers are just fingers of toast that dip beautifully into a soft-boiled egg. Always good to persuade kids to eat. :) Nothing fancy.

Stopping by late again -- I had a massage after work -- my first ever. My doctor wrote me a prescription for it to help my neck and shoulder pain. I was a little antsy about it because I am not a touchy-feely person, especially with people I don't know, so felt a bit uncomfortable with the idea. It did help, though, and hopefully will continue to do so. I will go again next week.
I had "clean-out-the-refrigerator" soup in the crockpot today (mix of chopped rotisserie chicken, tomatoes, corn, peas, green beans, and salsa) but DH and I will end up having that tomorrow. He & DS had errands to run so we met for pizza after my appointment. Tomorrow DS leaves for an extended research trip up the East Coast and won't be back till mid-November.

Tammy- Lake Champagne campground.is in Randolph Center VT. You are about an hour North of me. It is not near Lake Champlain. It is south and east of it. Two different lakes. Did he know that? You will be South of Montpelier. Chris
