These weeks certainly fly by fast, don't they? Soon it will be winter and we will be going into the archives for pictures. On Tuesday of this week, I went on a garden tour with my sister and her garden club. I enjoyed it, but I truly wished Larry would have come with me since she really likes hostas (his passion). She also has many conifers which I don't have much interest in growing, but I do enjoy seeing them in others' gardens. This was her only "flower" garden. The 2 in the background are all conifers. ++++++++++++++++++++ I tried to take panasonic of her hostas beds. I thought of Melissa and Gayle while there. Gayle because she started these beds in a wooded area around her yard and Melissa because she had to have 2 loads of black dirt hauled in to amend the clay. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ These are a couple of pictures of my sister's flower beds Dahlias and zinnias +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Black eyes Susans and phlox +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As many of you know we had 8.5 inches of rain earlier in the week which caused havoc and flooding in our area. This is what our dam north of town usually looks like: This is what it looked like on Wednesday: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And this is the park that is usually filled with campers and families enjoying the scenery and peace and quiet ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sorry if I have gotten carried away here...but I want to end this on a happy note. I think I need this plaque ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I look forward to seeing what you have to share! I know Melissa has some garden before and after projects to show. Charlene

Since I have no flower pictures to share I thought I would show you one of my new addictions, the brown bear live cams in Katmai Park, Alaska. Here is a picture of a bear with her cubs seen on the cam recently. Aren't they cute but oh, so dangerous! Edited to clarify that these are grizzlie bears.

Pretty pics today Charlene! Great pic of the bears, Angela! Here are some more daylilies....This one is Final Touch... This is Siloam Baby Talk...it is a cute miniature...
These are Oriental Lilies from last year, this year they were not as pretty...
This is the same lily as above when I had it at my old house (then it was pink!) Now they are purple....

Lots of pretty photos already!
Angela...those bear cubs are cute, but I know how brutal they can be when full grown. We seldom see any here....but quite a few north of here.
Linda...you have lots of the mini daylilies, don't you? They are lovely. I wonder if it is change of soil or change of lighting that made your other lily change colors.
Abey...love that yellow hibiscus. Isn't it fun to see things blooming from friends here? I have a yard full of those flowers.
Sandy...lovely zinnias and love that lisianthus. You sure have many beautiful roses.
Melissa...YAY...look forward to more from you now.
Mary...that is such a cute/pretty pic. I am glad you shared. Charlene

Looks good Melissa. Glad you got Google to work for you. But I was here earlier & there was another picture from you that said 1st picture from Google. I could see it then but now it's gone? I made the mistake of trying to post pictures from the desktop. That thing is almost dead & it totally hung up on me. Couldn't even re-boot w/o turning it completely off. But lately when that happens (like when the power goes out) I have a heck of a time getting it to power back up Finally getting it to re-boot after almost an hr. What does all that have to do with this topic you ask? LOL There are some pictures on there that I will need to transfer to here to post (later) In the meantime lets go with what I can. This is the Hibiscus like Abey's. Mine died & I haven't been able to get another one to grow. But I keep trying. And this is what I have spent the last hour+ trying to get to work. Remind me not to use the old desktop anymore for photo posting.1st day of school, 2016 1st day of school, 2016 This has taken forever (my own fault) I'll come back later

Char, hope the rain is not causing more problems to your town, and thank you for the tour of the garden you visited with DSis. Conifers are not that popular here because of the heat, but is nice to see what others grow..
Angela, looks are deceiving...good looking family
Yday found these couple of flowers ..Clematis and Verbena

Melissa I am not seeing any pictures, just a circle with a line through it.
I went out and took a few pictures today but will need to import them to Picasa 3 and from there import them to my pictures library and then import them to tinypics and then to here, uggg, what a hassle, almost not worth the effort.

Sandy so glad you got a plant from the seed. It will get bigger and bigger. I tried different times to get the lisianthus to grow, no luck. Gayle do you want me to save some seed of the hibiscus?

About the bears I posted. Those are grizzlies, not your usual run of the mill bears! 😊 I suspect just a bit more dangerous than the ones we see. Cute but not really.
