Good morning friends
(((Helen))) Sending you big hugs my friend.
Sara, It's nice to have more light in the house with the messy tree gone.
Pippin, Yes, I would love to borrow your shirt lop.
Tammy, I never had Poutine and should've tried it when we were in Lake George. It was on the menu at several places.
Lynn, Have a great day at the park today.
Ann, Wow! That peach, mango salsa is so colorful. Great job!
Lori and Helen, I hope the tropical storms will be mild this year. Like Ann, we could use rain here.
Lori, I was able to get the car to the mechanic ask didn't act up along the way. It's like going to the dentist and your tooth stops hurting. However, I know that it would happen again. I won't have my car for the weekend .
Not sure what I'm making for dinner yet.
Waving to all, enjoy your day.
Nancy

Good Saturday morning to everyone. It is going to be a very warm and muggy week ahead, this is still better than snow ice, and freezing temps. I don't know what my plans are for today, just try to make the best of whatever comes my way. I did not get my cake baked yesterday, had company and didn't feel like doing it after they left. If I did everything I planned I would be quite the woman---lol. I will try to get back here later and see how everyone is doing. I hope you have a wonderful day and a good week-end.

Good morning friends (feels funny to not say BB friends) Nancy- Thanks so much for keeping us going on here! I for one really appreciate it. Being able to keep in contact with these on-line friends has been a great joy to me. don't quite understand why you all are so special but you just all are! Maybe because you all humor me in my HC addiction! LOL Maybe with my job this is my assurance of sanity! LOL
Sara- I bet this winter you will even appreciate the light from that tree out of there. And the added bonus of no mess to clean up in the summer. I hope you get that cake baked today so I can stop in for a piece! Chocolate?? LOL
Lori- I see that the storm may by-pass you now. I hope so.
Helen- Hugs to you! A good HC will cure anything trust me!!
Tammy- When will you back in the Vermont area? I am thinking I might be able to meet up with you some where. That would be so cool. If you want to meet. Well DH says I have to get out of bed now and get the day going. I did have and HC this morning and so I have gotten the day going just not out of bed yet. (well I did get out to make it and crawled back in)

Good Morning ! I bought 2 croissants yesterday so that was my breakfast along with a cuppa tea. We are planning on going back to Quebec on our own today.
It looks like it is a sunny day. I'm going to try and dress a little cooler today. I forgot my sunglasses yesterday, so will HAVE to remember to grab those.
Chris, I'd love to meet up. We will be staying at Lake Champlain campground for a week starting September 2. We'll be running around all over the area. We will have to go back to Essex Junction I think to see about what's going to happen with the microwave. I think we need to pay the company that tried to fix it, then we will go and buy a new one, then we send the bills to the warranty company and they mail us a check.
It's nice to have the food channel again. We have not had our dish tv in about 3 weeks because of being so far north. We are still pretty far north, but it's working!
Better get around and get myself ready. My hair got so windblown yesterday between the ferry ride (we were outside as it was too hot indoors) and then riding on top of the double decker bus. The flat iron will have to work hard today!!

Good morning!
I woke up like it is a school day, early! I will walk the dogs when it gets lighter.
Nancy, sorry you won't have your car this weekend. Hope it gets corrected so it won't act up.
Sara, hope the weather isn't too muggy for you.
Chris, hc sounds yummy. Going to Starbucks later.
Dd has her permit but not her license and needs drive time this weekend so I will go driving with her today.
No cooking for me today. We are going out to lunch.
Have a great day!

Good morning. 61 and sunny. To get about 80 today but doubt it will get that warm here on the mountain. Yesterday the rain quit about 9:30 and the rest of the day was sunny and beautiful. However I had already committed to the kitchen. The biggest project was getting the the sauerkraut cut and fermenting. Now to wait the 7-8 weeks for it to be ready then I will process it. Spent some time working on my meal challenge for next week and searching for a couple of recipes. Certainly did more things that weren't on my list than what was. Story of my life.
Today I am headed to the greenhouses to work. Want to get that all done today so will try to stick with it. I seem to get sidetracked easily.
Tammy, you trip to PEI and Old Quebec sure brought back some great memories. We were fortunate to be in Old Quebec during the music festival in July. Only spent 2 nights there and actually 1 full day. Could have spent a week. We took a carriage ride around the sites which was great. Are you staying at the Campground for RVs in Grande Isle? When you are in Essex Junction you are less than 2 hours from me. Do you plan on coming into NY at all. If you have never visited Fort Ticonderoga that is a great place. It is about an hour from Burlington.
Nancy, sorry about your car. I am so thankful my DS is a mechanic. Sometimes I have to wait to get things done but the price is right.
I need one of INE shirts. Went out yesterday afternoon to see that I had a flat tire again. This is the 3rd one this year. The first 2 were winter snow tires and both were ruined and had to buy new ones. They were definitely not in the budget. DS couldn't find any problem with the one last night but of course it is my newest summer tire. He took it home to investigate further. I will probably know the problem tomorrow and if I need to take it to a garage.
Have a great day.
Bet

Chris, Do you have a particular hot chocolate brand that always buy?
Betsy, Hard to believe that your DD will be driving soon!
Bet, It's great to have a mechanic in the family. My DH is really handy and fixes just about everything around here but he can't do the front end transmission .
I was up early today so now I'm tired. I like to have time alone in the mornings and read the paper and have my coffee.
Getting hot here already.

Good morning- Looks like the board has been busy already. I have 3 loads washed and have my sheets in dryer now and doing two red blouses by themselves. One got red on underclothes so thought better wash alone the first time. Did do the vacuuming and cleaned up the filter in the vac and letting it dry today. Had been awhile since I done it so needed to get it done.
We are having my homemade goulash for dinner with salad and garlic bread. Also have the Choc. Chip dessert to eat. So dinner will be easy.
It is really foggy out this morning so 90 days will be moisture. Hate to think of winter coming. I like spring and fall if I have a choice.
Here is your Recipe Lori and anyone else that would like to try it.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight 1 tube (16 1/2 oz.) refrigerated chocolate cookie dough 1 pkg. (8oz) cream cheese softened -I use 1/3 fat 1 c confectioners' sugar 1 carton(12 oz.) frozen cool whip, thawed and divided 3 c cold milk 1 small package of instant chocolate pudding 1 small package of instant vanilla pudding chopped nuts and chocolate curls, optional
Let cookie dough stand at room temp. for 5-10 minutes to soften. Press into ungreased 13x9 pan. (I do spray mine a little) Bake 350* for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on rack. In lg. bowl beat cream cheese and pwd. sugar until smooth. fold in 1 3/4 c whipped topping. Spread over cooled crust. In Lg. bowl whisk the puddings and milk for 2 minutes or until soft set. Spread over cream cheese layer. Top with remaining cool whip. Sprinkle with curls and nuts. Refrigerate for 8 hrs or overnight until firm.
Hope you all will like this, the guys sure did. Marlene

Tammy - Which Champlain campground? There are 3. We will be camping in Hampton NH until the 5th but I would love to take aride up and meet if possible.
Oh Betsy- STARBUCKS!!! My 1 hour vaca every Sunday!!!! Yes!!
Bet- Hate when that happens about the tires! Hope they can find out and patch/plug not have to buy a new one! And again can you tell me what town you are in? I am about 2 1/2 hours south of Burlington in North Springfield VT.
Nancy- My favorite is Starbucks but next is the Gheradelli's HC mix, double chocolate! Next would be Godiva HC mix.
Oh Marlene- I need to make that recipe! Sure looks good. I think my office workers will like it. Maybe do it for the open house we have every October. I try to do something different each time. Thanks for sharing it. I like summer bast but then again in Vermont we never really get hot hot for long periods of time and not really humid much either. Chris (yep she is sipping on a 2nd HC! Starbucks!! See Nancy you are a bad influence on me! Asked it, Bet mentioned it and I had to go make one)

Morning everyone! I see the queen of HC has had her specialty alrwady! LOL Nice that you can relax in bed a bit, Chris after your busy week.
Sara, I am with you and waiting to see what happens today. Should bake something today as had thougt to do so yesterday but the day got away on me.
Nancy, good luck geting your car working. Such a pain when you expect it to be fixed & it isn't! Will having no car this weekend be a problem?
Bet, you are wonder woman and get so much jammed into a day. I get tired just reading about it! 😊 Of course, I am such a slug! Hope your greenhouse work pans out for you.
Marlene, your guys are so lucky with the wonderful meals you feed them. How are the renos going? Must be soon coming to an end. I bet your home will be looking so fantastic.
Tammy enjoy your day in Quebec. I've never been and it is a city I'd love to see. So much history. You are certinly getting around fairly quickly. Enjoy your day.
Betsy, have fun driving with your daughter. My granddaughter just got her license on Aug 4th & sure has been getting around since. Has been nice that she can get herself to work.
See you all later. I'd better get moving and do something constructive.

Oh Bet You are so not that far from me. I have been to Schroon Lake many times. We like to take the motorcycle around Route 22 up and then over through Schroon to and back down to Lake George and eat at the Golden Corral there and then 149 to Whitehall Fort Ann and 4 to Rutland and back home. Such a great ride.
Oh Angela thank you for recognizing me as the Queen! I love it!!!

Afternoon, all is prepped for dinner tonight...yea! Chris - I'm about 30 minutes from Hampton, NH! Are you familiar with the area? If not, here are a few tidbits. Do you plan on going to Kittery, ME? There are some good restaurants there...Robert's Grille and Bob's Clam Hut both near the Kittery Trading Post (like an LLBean). There is also Sylvan St. Grille in Salisbury (not on coast), and there is Sea Glass in Salisbury Beach that is right on the ocean...high tide waves go under the restaurant!!! South of Hampton in Seabrook, there are two great lobster pounds...Markey's and Brown's both on route 286. They are across from each other. In the opposite direction, in Rye, NH there are Petey's and Ray's. After the holiday, we are going on a whale watch out of Rye Harbor. Near the Sylvan St restaurant on Merrimac St in Amesbury there is a neat little jams and jellies place called Kimball's. The first time you visit, you can get a free bottle of any product that you want...other's cost just $2. Here's the LINK. On our last visit, I bought chocolate raspberry jam!!! Nancy - Better to have no car than an unsafe one, but it is a pain! Bet - I used to have relatives in Orwell! I'm going to make a small batch of sauerkraut tomorrow....just 3 pounds...in a large mason jar...mine ferments 5-10 days and it has caraway seed in it. Marlene- Recipe looks good! Lori - I posted the salsa recipe in yesterday's thread. Hi, Angela - Have a great day! Time to get a move on! Waving to everyone! Tammy- Quebec is on my bucket list, too. Hope you have a good visit today!

Ann and Chris, you are making me homesick. I grew up in Hampton, NH. When I was first married and going to college I worked at the Kittery outlet mall.
Tammy, your adventures sound like so much fun!!!!
Waving to all.

Ann- We go to Hampton all the time. On winter days when we have the time we go to Kittery Trading post just for something to do. We like to go to Rye Lobster Pound at Rye Harbour and get Fluffy Clam chowder. Better Than Pete's. I sort of remember the other places but did not know about Kimball's. Will have to go there. I like free! LOL Thanks for the info. We will have to meet sometime over there! Chris
