Good morning Larry and all who follow. I was reading and catching up. I took ad block off because I couldn't access the e-bill for college. (Not that I wanted to see it any ways!LOL!) but I can't stand not having ad block on . I have gotten a ton of pop ups and sites load so slow. Gayle with tiny pics is it the Progressive ad? If so wait till it plays then it tells you what to type . I have had to do this a couple of times. It's kinda crazy I think.
It cooled down nicely through the night and now the sun is shining and supposed to go up to 88. Have a bday party this afternoon for my great niece she is turning 5.
Yesterday after work I was sitting on the deck reading and this yellow jacket kept buzzing me. Tried waving it away but it wouldn't leave. I got the fly swatter out and was trying to smack it. Well it got mad and bit me through my top on my belly. I said a few choice words and put mud on it. Very itchy today. After he bit me I didn't see him at all!
Still no lawn mower the guy has had since Tuesday and has done nothing on it. I'll see if I can borrow the neighbors today. Guess I won't go to this guy again. Have a good day.

Good morning, Larry and all. We have 75 now, so I'm sure our high will be in the 90s. I will be on the road today going to DGD#5's bday. She turns 3 on the 29th. Funny thing is that another DGD will be 4 on September 10th, but when they start school they will be in the same grade because of the bday cutoff. When my kids were in school the cutoff was Nov 1st and oldest DS was born on Nov 13th, so he was older than most in his class. In the case with DGDs, one will be one of the oldest and the other will be one of the youngest.
I went out early to try to water the pots but then I heard DGS crying when he woke up. I will try to finish before I leave. We may get rain tomorrow which will help.
I have dough in the fridge for rice krispie cheese crisps to bake this morning before we leave. I hope the rice krispie didn't get soggy in the dough overnight. Maybe I should have waited to add them. Was going to bake them last night but it was hot enough after cooking a meatloaf and I was tired.
Don't know what time we will get home tonight.
Have a super Saturday.

Good morning. 57 and very dark outside. We have a good chance of some rain today. We sure could use it b/c it hasn't rained for over 2 weeks now. We had so much rain this summer it was crazy, but its amazing how dry things get when it stops. When I was working in the beds yesterday the soil was like cement it was so rock hard. I sure can see why my plants don't grow like some peoples. I've worked and worked on soil amending and I need to do more I guess.
No idea what I will do today. I know I need to do laundry and clean up the laundry room. Its a big mess. Need to run to town for a few things as well. We are going to my moms for her birthday tomorrow. I need to find something else for a gift. Ds and his gf are going shopping in Duluth after work today and I need to get some cash for her and a card since her bday is next week. Figure I'll just give it to her early so she can spend it when they go. My middle nieces bday is also today, so need a card and gift card for her. Expensive month! LOL My nephew is next week too, and my youngest dd is the following week.
Leslie-Our birthday cut off is September 1. I can't imagine it being any later, and frankly it should be earlier. I don't know too many kids with July or August birthday who are ready for Kindergarten just after turning 5. I've had kids in my class that have turned 6 (usually sp ed kids). Its too wide an age gap and it sure makes a difference.
Guess I should finish my amazon shopping and get my order sent so I'll have gifts for all these birthdays coming up! Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Good morning all. A lovely sunny morning for us. Just 61 right now and should be about 80 this afternoon. Great weather but WE NEED RAIN BADLY. Anyone have some to share?
Laundry and then clean out some of the veggie garden. The green beans need to go. They have been terrible this year but that's what happens when there is no rain.
Have a super Saturday.

Good morning. 61 and sunny. I spent yesterday in the kitchen. Not too sure what all I got done. Definitely not everything on my list. I did slice and dehydrate about 2 1/2 pounds of potatoes so need to get them taken care of this morning. Did some searching on line for a couple of recipes I want to try and packaged up some stuff in the freezer that I had froze on sheet pans. Still have more of that to do. The biggest project crossed off the list was getting the cabbage shredded and the sauerkraut fermenting.
I planted my aero garden I think on Wednesday and yesterday all the basil was up but no signs of the dill yet.
I need to empty and fill the dishwasher and then I am heading to the greenhouses to work.
Melissa, you sure have a lot of birthdays. That can get expensive. Fortunately I only have to worry about the grankids.
Larry, the day will come when you will wish you never learned how to relax. LOL
Leslie, enjoy you birthday celebration today.
Sandy, you can turn ad block off on this the college site and leave it running elsewhere.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is a gloomy morning so I have no idea what I will do today. More than likely inside stuff unless the weather changes. I can do a few more cuttings of some plants that are too big to bring inside when it frosts.
I was happy to see an email from Rob this morning (Roboutside). He wanted to know how everyone was doing and where we are since he can't find many of us on the FB group. I emailed him this site, so hopefully he will be joining us soon. I forgot all about him when we were switching over.
Larry...if you want to know how to relax, just follow my lead...lol.
Sandy...I have ad block shut off for this site only. Other places I go it is still blocking ads. I think that the lawn mower guy you picked this time is not someone you should use again. Some lessons we have to learn the hard way.
Leslie...have fun at the birthday party! Our cut off date is Sept 15 (moved to that from Nov 1 about 30 years ago). DGS #2 has a Sept 10 bday, but his parents chose to keep him home another year...and what a wise choice that was. He is a senior this year and school has been a breeze for him. I think he would have had more a struggle had he started 1 year earlier. I read that your DS & GF may soon be getting an apartmene and be able to take DGS. I hope they do. From experience I know it is difficult to have the Mimi/grandchild experience the way it should be when you have to be the full time caregiver. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Melissa...you do have lots of birthdays this time of year. I think I know how your family celebrates Christmas ;) lol. I think you should go back to the Dr and see what can be done about your shoulder. You are too young to be having those problems and so much pain. Hopefully it will be an easy fix.
Tasty...I would so LOVE to send you rain. It seems that it is feast or famine. This is one of the wettest summers on record for us. Hope you get some soon.
Bette...sounds like you had a domestic day yesterday. That is what I call a day in the kitchen/house. Looks like I could knock down a few cobwebs...sure looking like fall here.
Have a great day everyone. Charlene
edited to add...I just got a notification that Roboutside has joined us! He acted quickly on that...so glad to see him here.

Good morning. We have a hazy looking sky right now. As the day goes on, we have a better chance for some rain. Looks to me like Linda Z. is going to be very wet today! We will, of course, be hot and humid for the weekend. Next weekend looks to be rather fall-like with high temps in the 70s. I think I will like that a lot better than this weekend's weather. LOL!
I have no idea what I will get into today. I never did go out and finish marking the plants for seed saving. I guess that needs to top my list. I have to work on scanning the photos that DH's uncle brought me a couple of weeks ago. He may be wanting those back soon. Other than that, I am open to whatever for the day.
Sorry about your insect bite, Sandy! That stinks. I think you are onto something with finding a new lawnmower guy. My goodness the current one has tried your patience!
Leslie, we had meatloaf last night also. I haven't been the best about cooking good meals so I was pretty pleased with my efforts last night - mashed potatoes, sweet corn, tossed salad, and applesauce. That won't happen again for a while. :)) Happy birthday to your grands!
Waving to everyone and wishing you all a super Saturday!

Good morning everybody. Another nice day so I will be heading out as soon as I finish typing this to get back at work in that d'way bed.
My project for next Spring is re-doing the beds in front of my fence. I've never been happy with them & seeing all those hanging pots on Steve' thread has given me some ideas. They're still banging around in there though.
Sandy, you can take the adbloc off for just that one site if you want. The drop down list under adbloc say "this site only" or something like that. On TinyPic if I have adbloc on, when the code box comes up I just get a blank box & it stays that way. BTW, you don't have to wait for the stuff in the box to quit playing. Just click on the answer section as soon as the code screen comes up & it will give you a code right away.
Catch ya guys later

Sandy...I forgot to tell you this. I read a few months back that when you get a bee sting or any kind of bug bite that a banana peel will sooth it and stop the itching. Fortunately I haven't gotten to try that tip out this year. I haven't even had a mosquito bite yet. Charlene

Well if I had bananas in the house I would try it. Mud works great initially.

Good morning.
Our big chance of a lot of rain had gone down to 0 % by last night BUT in the middle of the night we did get some much needed rain, almost an inch, yay! It wasn't enough to help a lot but a little help is better than none plus it will make it so much easier to weed today.
I did not sleep well last night because my legs, arms, shoulders and hands hurt so much from trying to weed out the roots and all in that dry hard ground. It is a good thing I have a strong back because I did all that weeding yesterday and last night just by bending over instead of getting on the ground and my back was the only thing that wasn't hurting.
Today is my son's birthday and he stopped over with one of the kids this morning for a visit.
Sept 1 has always been the school start cut off here but I found that with my 5 kids the ones that were close to that date, but I waited to send them the following year, had a harder time in school being the older one in class than the ones who were the youngest in class.
I have always deadheaded or trimmed plants with tons of bees on the plants and have never been stung and have never been stung by a wasp or even had a mosquito bite but that can always change because I had never been bothered by gnats before either but now the gnats try eating me alive.
I will be going out shortly to start weeding the alley area again.

Good morning. Beautiful summer day here. I've got to mow the lawn. I haven't done it in over a month mostly due to lack of rain.Hope the mower starts.
I seem to be too tired to do much other than work and the little I contribute to helping my sister take care of our parents. Need to do some housework, laundry and clear space in the garage for the delivery of my new kitchen cabinets this week.
Hope you are enjoying your day all.
