Right now i am working on downloading the new version of Yahoo.   Anyone else have that?   The version i have now will end August 31, so don't have any other choice, if i want to continue to use it.   I just love it when this controls everything you do.  LOL


Going to get groceries this morning before work.   Today is liver and onions for noon special so we will be busy.  lol

Going to be a nice day with the weather, high of 73. I am so thankful that this hot summer weather is over.

Work for me today. It is popcorn day. Don't mind standing there for 2 hours making it but I hate cleaning the machine afterward.

Will stop and get gas and groceries after work and that will be my excitement for the day.

Mmm Larry the liver and onions sound good.

Good morning.  61 and partly cloudy.  Possible Tstorms this afternoon.  Puttered around more than worked yesterday.  Did get the 2 planters on the side porch done.  Got the soil wet up for the planters by the water pump water feature.  Plants are to get that area all set up today.  Need to do more cleaning in the greenhouse and find a place for the racks.  I want to get one greenhouse done by Saturday. Got one Aero garden cleaned up and replanted.  If it rains this afternoon will go shopping to walmart.  Haven't been in a month and need some things from there.  Will check and see if they have their potting soil marked down yet.

Today is sort of a sad day.  DH passed away 9 years ago today.  It doesn't seem possible he has been gone that long.

Good morning.  It is kind of an unusual looking morning here.  There is sunshine, but it really is struggling to peek through the clouds.  I believe we are to be in the upper 80s with high humidity for the day.  Along with that will come the chance for additional severe weather.  Since we were not really expecting anything like what happened last night, I'm a little wary of what the afternoon may bring.  :-S

My only real plan for the day is to go outside and check the water gauges to see how much rain we got after the tornadic weather passed us by.  The rainfall sounded torrential, but it was dark by then so hard to tell how things really were.  It was so strange to have the tornadoes come from out of nowhere, and then have the rain and wind kick in. 

Sorry about the day bringing you sadness today, Bette.  Anniversary dates are always tough on loved ones. 

Well, looking at the clock now I guess I better get out to the kitchen and take my antibiotic before I forget it.  I usually end up taking my "morning" medicine in the afternoon because I don't think about it until then.  This medication should be taken about 12 hours apart, so unless I want to get up in the middle of the night to take a dose, I better try and stay on schedule.  Maybe this will regulate me better and I'll actually take the other pills in the morning also.  LOL!

Well, last night we had tornadoes north and south of us, one touched down just a few miles away. I live in NE Indiana...lots of damage in many cities. One weather report said 8 tornadoes touched down in Indiana, and several in Ohio! We are supposed to have more storms today and through tonight.

Bette...I am sorry that you are sad today...I also miss both my parents who passed over 20 + years ago, I especially miss my mother...all the time.

On a brighter note, before the storm yesterday, I stopped at a farmer's market and bought some beautiful tomatoes from two Amish teenagers that were the best I have had in years. Also bought a pink swamp milkweed plant from another booth. It is about 4 ft tall...I am looking forward to it blooming next year.

Good morning everyone.  I have been reading the chit chat and other posts from last night since I did not make it here.  DS & family came over and visited for a while.  by time they left I guess I was ready to wind down for the evening and get ready for bed.  The show Night Shift was on and I do like watching that.....one of the few TV shows I watch in the summer.  It hasn't been on for a few weeks because of the Olympics.

I am glad that Karen, Linda, Carol and others in that area were not in the direct paths of the tornadoes.  We have had a ot of rain this summer, but I do not recall a single tornado watch, which is unusual for here.

Donna...I do hope the shots help your hands and give you some relief.  I know they seem to help people with knee pain and problems.

I will probably be doing more deadheading and cutting down of some plants today.  I hope the guy that wants some of our phlox will be able to come and get them this weekend.  They would certainly dig easy right now after all of the rain.

Lunch with friends today but I won't be aving the liver and onions.  I like it, but not in the mood for it today.  Teice a year is enough for me.  Have a great day everyone.  Charlene

Good morning. 57 with a high of 64. Sun is shining right now tho they do show some clouds later. A nice breeze so maybe I can get outside this afternoon and get some stuff done. I have really neglected the flower beds the past month. Between being gone so much, working on canning, and now back to work they have been low on the priority list. Going to start pulling and cutting things down. I also have plants that need to be moved, so think I will start on that so they have time to root before winter. I still have my new bed to finish but my arm hurts bad enough I won't tackle it alone. I told dh we will be going for compost tomorrow so I can work on planting on Saturday. I will probably go get a few bags of manure too. He will have to break up that big chunk of cement I found too. Its definitely not a well cover or anything. Its irregular in size and shape (high spots, low spots, humpy bumpy), like they spilled a glob there when pouring the foundation and never moved it since it was to be covered with dirt/grass. I've found the edges of it, the question is how thick is it. Unfortunately I can't just plant over it b/c its fairly close to the surface so wouldn't have enough soil for something to root over it. My bee balm I got a few weeks ago is really needing planting so need to get this done.

Beyond that I do have a home visit at 10, but its a family I had the brother a few years ago and now will have the sister. Easy! I have to get dd to volleyball at 3 as well, but I'm not working any more today.

Bette-Sorry you are having a tough day. I'm glad you decided to quit and save yourself the stress of working. I'm sure the money was nice but at what price? Your health and sanity are more important.

Linda-You will love the pink swamp milkweed. I got one this year and it is so gorgeous!

Liver and onions are a definite no thank you! I would barf! Anything that filters toxins from your body is not something I want to eat!

Glad to hear Wendy and Sandy got some much needed rain and that Karen survived the tornadoes!

Kathy-How are the glasses working?

Good morning everyone. Humidity came back with a vengeance. Ac is back on and it never kicks on this early. Larry I have tried to download yahoo messenger a couple of times and it keeps coming up error so I give up. I will just chat with family on Hangouts or fb messenger. Have a great day

Linda, I need to pick up a tomato or 2 from a market. I haven't had a tomato sandwich this year, and you can't let summer go by without one.

This morning when I stepped out onto the deck to feed the feral cats, it was wonderfully cool! I could tell that fall is a comin'! If it is like that next week I can sit outside with my coffee, if I get up early enough.

Heading out to do some yard work in a few minutes before the sun gets to that part of the yard.

Need to go to the bank later.  I went to transfer some money between accounts just a little while ago & I've used up all my allotted online transfers for the month.  Hmmm I didn't realize there was a limit.  So I need to either do it in person & sign for it or I can do it at the ATM.  I'm thinking I better go do it "just in case"  My mind will be more at ease if I'm sure there is enough money in checking for whatever I might need .

Good morning!  I'm a late riser....well this morning.  I read until the wee hours
of the night.  

I had hopes of trimming some of my bushes, but the rain came down with a
vengeance.  Now it is looking gloomy outside.  So what happened to the 
sunny forecast?  


I think I will tackle the linen closet....what a mess.
