Good evening. Finally decided on dinner tonight. Basically a garden dinner. My first picking of green beans always goes to green bean and potato soup. Real simple green beans, small potatoes cut in chunks with milk, salt and lots of pepper. To go with I have fresh cukes from the garden sliced with salt and pepper. May add a little vinegar when I get ready to eat, fresh tomato with basil oil and lots of bread and butter. When growing up the soup was made with the first picking of fresh sweet peas but since I don't grow peas anymore I have gone to green beans. Unfortunately without any meat I will probably be hungry about 9 so am leaning toward a chocolate mug cake or take some cookie dough out of the freezer and slice that and bake it.
Should work on getting more recipes transferred to the recipe board before they get way ahead of me. Some great recipes posted this week.

Good evening friends I love peach pie! It is DH's favorite. Tasty Happy Birthday to your DH! And to your's Countrygirl. I love Belgian Waffles! Love them with some of our real Vermont maple syrup! LOL No cooking for me either today. I decided on Pizza so picked up a Hawaiian with a Greek Salad so I feel we "ate around the world" for supper! LOL
I do hope you can get that tooth taken care of Elaine! Wow! I bet that hurts. Try washing your mouth out with peroxide and water. That should help. That is what a dentist told me to do for several days because he could not see me for a while.
Tammy- I copied that recipe. DH says "When you going to make it?" LOL
Jan- Sure do love a toasted tomato sandwich! So summery! Lori- I hope you and DH have a good meal out today. WEll I was supposed to go work out tonight but got lazy and did not do it. So will be carefula t my favorite Deli town tomorrow. Hope you all have a great night! Chris

Thank you all for the wonderful thoughts about my DH's Aunt. They are going to make a book of her life from all the ramblings she wrote. Will be so good to read them all. DH's Dad would have been 103 this week. Thank you all for the kind words. I read them to DH. He says "What a great group you have" I said "now you know why I do not want to lose any of them" Chris

Happy Birthday to the DHs!
I haven't made a peach pie in years but it sure is good. Tammy, I've never seen a recipe where you didn't have to peel the peaches! It looks very good. And I don't think I've ever in my life made waffles, but fortunately my sister likes to make them so I've had the chance to enjoy hers.
Grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup for our supper tonight. There is leftover orange sherbet from our Sunday night ice cream social so I think that will make an appearance later.

Tamara...looks like a nice diet friendly pie! Will save it because I have pie crusts in the freezer and heavy cream so all I need are the peaches. Thanks.

Good evening all!
Grilled cheese and tomato soup sound like comfort food to me. 👍👍
I'm having chilli and biscuits , I'm by myself as it rained again at this rate we'll never finish harvest.
Was in the city yesterday to see therapist lots of exercises to do and he also did some dry needling on my back that seems to help.
Not much else going on here pretty quiet day.
Catch you all tomorrow

Back to muggy, hot, and humid today after two days of lovely, mild, low humidity. What I'm hearing about weather in several parts of the country I have no complaints.
Our colds are dwindling down so after two days of soups and slippery foods went all out (sort of) on dinner tonight. Oven roasted turkey tenderloin, baked potatoes, and fresh carrots and melon. It was enjoyed.
Why do I suddenly have a craving for grilled cheese and tomato soup?
