My backyard this morning.
It wasn't the greatest day here yesterday. Meds just didn't kick in the morning and I finally laid down for a couple of hours this afternoon. I felt pretty good after that. I did get quite a bit of computer work done for the Lions. Still have a lot of notes to type up about how I did things for the November dinner and what I would change. The best part I put the expenses together and at $10 a meal we had over a $170 profit for the club. I am thinking about heating up some leftovers for dinner and getting to be early.
Sandy, they sure are pushing the work onto you but you should consider it a compliment that they know you can do the job. Would be nice if they also pushed a little more pay your way. I am sure you DD is excited about cooking her Thanksgiving dinner. Bonce for you you get to play with grand dog. Save travels. Wendy, those plants can get expensive. I have limited myself a lot the past few years. If I can't start if from seed I don't need it. However even the seed has gotten expensive. Your sampler was beautiful. I used to do that stuff. I do miss it at times but no reason to do it. I don't need anything more on the walls and the kids aren't into such things. Enjoy the community meal tomorrow. Leslie, hope you got everything to your liking for the graves. I guess they don't do holiday decorations around here much either. More spring time. With the snow they were be buried very quickly. Marlene, how nice that your DGD wants to come and help you decorate for Christmas. Enjoy every minute you can with her. Charlene, only kids can upset the best laid plans. I am sure you will enjoy the kids staying there and dinner will come together just fine tomorrow. Karen, hope you get that video chat tonight. Glad your sister has offered to stay with DH once in a while so you can get a bit of a break out of the house without worrying about him. Sorry the delivered meals aren't working out. An idea when you make a meal make enough for at least 2 meals and freeze up one for another night when there is no time to cook. It really doesn't take much longer to double everything and them to freeze it up for later. Mary, love throwing a mug of water at the squirrel. Hope it discourages him from getting on your feeders. Carol, enjoy your time with DS tomorrow. Don't you love the kids still worried about curfew but at least he is coming to see you. It hasn't been the greatest day here. Meds just didn't kick in this morning and I finally laid down for a couple of hours this afternoon. I feel pretty good now that it is almost time to go to bed. Sandy, hope the weather stays good for your travels today. I didn't decorate for Christmas but an debating what I will do this year. No one but me here to see it and with the plants I really don't have the room for much of anything.

Good morning all! Happy Thanksgiving day to you and your family. 61° and sunny. It was 55° when I got up. I'm going to cook the potatoes in my Instant pot and mash them or whip them in the nice stainless steel bowl that they cook in. Hopefully they will stay hot until dinnertime.
Bet, perhaps you can stitch small ornaments for holiday decorating. Hope you feel great today.
Sandy, hope the weather doesn't impact your travels today.
Time to start peeling potatoes. Wish this un-chef luck. But, what could I possibly do to potatoes except not season correctly.
Have a wonderful day.
ps, I ordered the tablet. Black Friday deal. I figured I drop more on plants or a new stitching project without much thought so, why not if the app makes my hobby more enjoyable. Free shipping and it will be here Saturday.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be getting ready soon to go to my brother's. It's at least a 30 minute drive. I've decided which way I want to go, one that has fewer turns than the detour around the closed portion of road I normally travel on. I thought about making a pumpkin pie to take but they usually have plenty of food, especially if any of SIL's family comes so it probably wouldn't get eaten. While working on my Christmas candy containers for our games Christmas Eve, I filled one to take today. That way I'm bringing something and they can eat the candy later. Perhaps I'll make the pie tomorrow for myself. It's breezy but hasn't rained yet. There's a chance though. I had a text from my friend that I eat out with some asking if I was going to DS's today. She was going to invite me to go to Shoneys with her and her husband. We usually go on Christmas day and since her kids aren't coming to her house until Saturday for Thanksgiving they are going to shoneys.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Leslie, enjoy your dinner with your brother and family today. There is always way more food than needed at holiday dinners.
Mary, when is our family celebrating Thanksgiving?
Leroy, so happy that you are going to your DS's today for the holiday.

I've been up working in the kitchen since before it was time to give DH his first pills of the day. I woke up and figured I may as well start the day then. I can lay down later. I have the corn pudding and sweet potato casserole cooked, cooled and in the garage fridge. Next will be the cheesy potatoes. My goal is to have the sides done before I put the turkey in the oven. We can warm them up when we are ready to eat. The only thing left will be for me to make the spinach salad. That can be made while the turkey cooks. I goofed on the number of eggs I was going to need today. We'll see how the sweet potato casserole is with just one egg. DH discovered the great toilet paper heist in his bathroom and isn't happy about it. It looks like I am going to be on extra high alert until this issue fades away - if it does. He made a crack about using facial tissue to wipe with, which sent chills down my spine. That would be a terrible idea for the same reason the Cottonelle could be a problem. He's not having the thinner tissue even though I have told him several different people have told me that they can't use Cottonelle with their septic systems. He's back to talking about the flushable wipes now, too. Allegedly, he only uses them to wipe the floor and never puts them in the toilet. All it takes is one time for him to lose his train of thought to cause chaos again. I've removed the TP from DSon's bathroom because he was eyeballing that. I've also taken the tissue boxes and moved them to where I am most often sitting. That will at least slow him down for a while. He might find the other toilet paper and tissues when I am gone shopping or to church, but I think that risk is low. We had a nice visit with the kids last night for Mac's 5th birthday. It initially started off disturbing because for some dumb reason my internet connection got lost right at the time I was trying to connect to Google Meet. DH was online right next to me in the dining room without any problems. So frustrating! I had to shut down and get back online to get the internet back up and running. It was worth it, though, because I got a really great screenshot of the whole family. Also, when I asked Mac what he wanted me to fix for his birthday when they come for the holidays, he said he wanted an M&M cake like I made him last year. I had forgotten all about that. DSon reminded me that it was a piñata cake where the candy spilled out when the cake got cut. Good thing I took pictures last year and could find them. It will be easy enough to recreate. I was so surprised and pleased that he remembered that. Being a long distance grandparent sometimes has me wondering about where we fit in Mac's life. I apparently got the cake thing right last year. Perhaps that will be an annual treat I make that will become "our thing". Pretty snow, Bet. Hopefully it isn't too big of an aggravation for you. Nice profit for the club on the meals! I should definitely freeze more things when I cook. I have been used to cooking for 6 all my life and haven't adjusted yet to just 2 of us. The opportunity is there for doing more freezing for sure. Thanks for the nudge. Sandy, your pie sounds yummy. DH doesn't like pumpkin pie so I don't have it often. Decorating sounds like a good plan. I love hearing, Wendy, that you ordered that tablet. Good for you! I'm sure it will be worth getting it. Nice that you got a deal on it and will get it soon. Safe travels, Leroy! Thanks for stopping into the sunroom. Have a good day! Charlene, that is a wonderful sentiment for the day. Wishing you a lovely day. I like the idea, Leslie, of you making that pie for you. Good idea to take candy today. I'll bet it will be appreciated and not everyone will think to do it. Smart! It is definitely a day to be thankful, Mary. It's dull here, too, but every once in a while it brightens up. I hope it does there for you in KY. Well, I better go see about DH. He wants me to come watch the parade with him, but I hear him on his phone calling people. I've recorded the parade so I can watch it anytime. I need to get the cheesy potatoes in the oven so it will be free for the turkey. Wishing everyone a thankful Thanksgiving Thursday!

Hope everyone had a good day. I had to take a detour in the detour today because of a power line across the road. That's what I get for taking the route with the fewest turns. Everyone was turning around so I went back and down another road that I knew I could take but had never been down before. These were country roads, nothing but trees and few houses. I was thinking about the time when they use to use trees as landmarks, but they certainly couldn't in this area. Thank goodness for Google maps or I would have come back home. But I made it on time and since they were still waiting for some of SIL's family I went to the cemetery and got the flowers put out. After lunch I came back a different way and took a detour just a mile before the closed road area. Then it was about 6 miles down unfamiliar country roads with nothing but trees and a few fields. I came back out on my side of the closed section, so basically made a large U to go around it. I will need to go back the first of the year but at least I know I can manage. It may take a year or more before the road is fixed. I think there were at least 16 people there and tons of food. When I left some of them were riding atvs down the trails on our land. Definitely not my thing. The young people can have it. DB's youngest DD was the only one of the 6 cousins on her mom's side that wasn't there because she lives in Kansas now. She will visit in a few weeks though.
Tomorrow morning I plan to go help decorate the church for Christmas so might not make it here until I get back.
