Another shot of Main Street
In my opinion there is nothing good about this morning. I feel like crap. Came home with a soar throat last night and it was terrible when I got up this morning. It is raining and only 33° we still have an advisory for freezing rain until 1 this afternoon. I am not moving out of the house except I do need to go out and feed my birds. Hope to do that between showers. The forecast for Thanksgiving is 1-3" of snow.
Tammy, glad to read that DH got his leg taken care of. I am sure you will get used to the machine running at night and won't even notice it.
Elza, sorry the contractor and the insurance company are still at odds. Have you spoken to your agent about the problem. Sometimes they can have some influence with the insurance company. This is way too long to not have this situation resolved and the contractor starting work.
Waving to everyone else at the moment. Need to contact Vudu again. Have a charge for the 3rd time on my account and I have never ordered any movies from them. Twice that were to close my account but still nothing. I can't get into my account to change it as it has an old email address attached to it that doesn't exist anymore. Also appears that I am getting charged for Disney+ twice.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It was 17º when I got up and going to upper 20s later....cool, but at least the sun is shining.
Yesterday I worked at Phyllis's. Her DD is stressed because the gal that works the days I don't is sick with colitis. Her DD asked me to take her days and I said that I couldn't. I feel a bit guilty, but I have other things going on and it won't kill her to care for her Mom a little.
Today I hope to wind up the Christmas raffle donations and then finish the bookwork for that. phone

Good morning. It was 14 when I got up, up to 17 now. High is 26 and grey skies. No sun in the 10 day forecast tho it did peak out for 2 hours yesterday.
Dd made it home about 1. She said the worst road was ours so no big issue getting home. Her and I watched 3 episodes of a show we enjoy together off the dvr. When dh got home we finally finished hanging the trim. Glad that mess is done with!
No big plans for today. I made new tie backs for my new curtains. I ordered another set for the dining room as well as a valance for the other window in there. I need to go pick up my library book at some point today. Dd will help me put up outside lights on the deck. Nothing exciting planned.
Have a good day.

Good morning. I just took a pumpkin pie out of the oven, it took alot longer then the recipe said. I did the festival pie recipe, lol with a can of Libbys pumpkin. It is Dh birthday so I wanted to surprise him. It got done in time as I hear he is just getting up.
I went to bed coughing last night and woke up coughing. I just took a cold tablet. I can't get sick. Karen and I are hosting the Thanksgiving dinner at clubhouse. We are cooking 4 turkeys and everyone is bringing a dish to share.
Mary-Cleaning doesn't sound like fun. Elza and Tammy are on the cooking board.
Charlene- I am glad you said no. Don't feel quilts.
Melissa- that is good you and daughter can enjoy TV together.

The sun is starting to come out here and there. It was mostly cloudy when I was driving to my eye doctor appointment this morning, but the sun was poking through on my way home. Good thing I grabbed a pair of those sunglasses doctors will offer when they dilate eyes. I needed them for sure. Even with the overcast sky before the sun came out I needed the glasses. Prayers got answered when the doctor told me that my eyes look healthy and good. The gel surrounding my retina did pull away from it, but it didn't detach when that happened. He said that this happens a lot as we age. Some people have it happen when they are in the 30s while others do not have it happen until their 80s. I'll probably have this happen in my left eye at some point, but it only becomes worrisome if there are flashing lights and worse floaters than I have now. I go back in January for a checkup. I'm so thankful! I teared up when the doctor told me this was nothing to worry about. I haven't been getting that kind of news lately, so I was expecting the worst. Hopefully my eyes return to normal soon. I just got a Baker Creek catalog that I want to look through, but I probably won't appreciate it enough until I can see better. Have a terrific Tuesday! I'll try to get back later to check in on folks.

Good afternoon. The weather people said it was going to be a rainy day but the sun is shining brightly and it is 56°. We did have some rain during the night but I don't know how much just that it was wet when I got up.
I got vegetable soup out of the freezer to have for lunch. Probably will have pizza tonight.
Yesterday when I got up at 6:30 my heater would not come on. The fan would run but no heat. Sent a work order over and called later but no one came so I called the emergency number and someone was here in five minutes. Of course, when he turned it on it started right up. I had tried it three different times with no success. I have no idea why but that prompted me to house clean the bathroom. Got rid of a lot of stuff that was out of date. At least the earliest date was 2022. Could have been worse but I did go through things once before. It has just been a while.
Guess I will go and heat the soup so have a good day.

Good afternoon. I'm having a day like Bet's. It's time to cancel my Hulu but it is giving me a fit. I log in but to go to my account info it wants me to log in to Disney+, which I don't have. It says it will prompt me to create an account but doesn't. It also told me I had to update my browser so I inadvertently updated Chrome, which I use here. That meant finding out how to go to the desktop site since it is different and logging in again. I still need to finish trying to cancel Hulu through the browser I use for other things. I stopped in the middle of that earlier and went to Bible study, then DT for more flowers to try to make arrangements for the cemetery. After that I picked up Chinese for lunch and stopped at Walgreens to pick up meds. I've been around in circles with them also in trying to just cancel all of my automatic refills. I won't bore you with all of those details.
I'll be back later. Back to the Hulu mess for now.

Good afternoon,
We are warmer today,in the 60s. Had a little shower this morning but then the sun came out.
Karen, glad your eye is OK.
Mary/Ky, I think Bet intended for that post to be on the cooking thread.
Charlene,I agree it won't kill Phyllis's daughter to do something for her mother. The colitis attack will be over in a day or so. Mine only lasts a day. Has she ever mentioned Assisted Living for her Mom?
Since I got bird seed yesterday,my birds were able to eat today. I got a slinky for the 3rd pole in front of my 3 windows yesterday. Mr. Squirrel was climbing that pole & then jumping over to the one with the PB feeder. He's determined but so am I.
Nothing exciting here.

I did not want to hear that about Hulu, Leslie. I just got it last month. Not ready to cancel yet but nothing is ever simple. The only time it is easy is when they are taking your money.
I had an order with Brent & Becky for Spring bulbs. They charge when they ship, which is nice but they are just now shipping. I would have preferred earlier but they claim this is the perfect time for planting.
Anyway, they called me last week to let me know one of the items was out of stock & that's when we got into the subject of planting. The decision was to just remove the OOS item & credit my bill.
Checking my CC acct today & the order has been charged but for the full amount, w/o the credit. I called B&B & girl in CS said there was a credit showing for my order & she wasn't sure why it wasn't applied when they submitted the charge. She was going to ask her mngr about it. An hr later I got an e-mail from my CC company that a credit had been applied from B&B. It was less than $10 but what if I hadn't noticed the wrong amt charged when I was updating my accounts?
Always something.

Good afternoon all! It warmed back up today. At least the heat hasn't kicked in. Sun is shining which is always a blessing unless we desperately need rain of course.
Bet, sorry you feel so crummy. Karen, good news on the eyes. Charlene, it would be nice if she went into assisted living while she is can understand things.
Have a great rest of your day all!

My good day has continued! When I went out to the garage to check on the Nativity characters so my cousin and her DH could come and put it out for us, there were minimal bulb outages. I did end up switching the light fixture from the one-eared cow and put that in the donkey that had been out. The one fixture is dead. We don't need a cow, even one with two ears. The donkey has traditionally been part of the story, so the donkey got the working light fixture. I think we have had this extensive set for 35 years now. The fact that any of it still works is a blooming miracle. We're really blessed to have people help us to get it set up. Most recently we have asked a variety of people. This is the first time anyone has offered to come back a second year! DH was iffy on putting it out this year, but as long as we have people to do it for us I wanted it done. It's likely the last year he will be able to appreciate it with his health being what it is now. He took great pride in this set over the years, and a former BIL actually painted a version of our Nativity as a gift to DH. Since it has been a big deal in the past, I'm glad we will have it again this year. Last year when the kids were leaving, I took a picture of DSon talking to Mac about the scene. This being a memory for him is something I want.
While I was messing around outside, I decided to see what was up with the keypad on the back garage door. Jerry told me it wasn't working a while back when he tried it. He said he put in a battery he had in his truck but it still didn't work. I don't remember buying a 2 pk of 9v batteries, but I am glad I did because my battery did work. When I was sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office today, I was wondering about if something happens to me how anyone would get into the house to care for DH. That was prompted by me giving DSon as my contact as DH isn't answering his phone anymore. He calls out on it plenty, but he rarely answers. DS being in Chicago, it would take him a few hours to get here. He'd need to get in touch with someone locally for DH. I emailed him contact info for each of his aunts and uncles in case he didn't have that. Maybe now that I have the keypad working I won't get keys made for family members. DH's siblings ought to still be able to get in as we never changed the lock on the front door from when DMIL lived here - provided they kept their house key.
We did get our hot meal delivered today. Hopefully it works out better for DH. I'm not keen on the milk being so warm when I took it out of the bag, though. It was stored right on top of a piping hot tray of food. I may suggest they not bring milk anymore. Buying that won't be a hardship, and if this is the way the milk will come it will be best to skip it.
Well, I believe I am going to put in a call to DSis#2. Today is the 33rd anniversary of our dad's passing. I owe her a call anyway, so today is probably a decent day for it. Have a good rest of your night!

Gayle, I was finally able to get logged in where I could go to the account and cancel. However, when I went to cancel it said I could get the ad version, which is what I had, for 2.99 per month for 6 months. I was paying 99 cents for the past year, plus tax of course. So I went ahead and did that. It comes to 3.23 per month, which is good but I may cancel in a few months. I haven't found too many things that catch my eye on Hulu and I have Netflix and Amazon Prime that I use more.

I am not quite sure exactly what I have. I do have Roku, Disney+ and Discovery + which is what I watch mostly. Have a lot of free things that when I get bored I cruise through them and usually just decide to turn to something I have seen numerous times for sound and go to sleep. I still haven't resolved the problem with Vudu but if necessary I will cancel everything that is billed through Roku and start from scratch with a new email.
I think I have whipped this what ever that attacked me yesterday. While getting dinner about 5:30 I broke in to a sweat like you wouldn't believe. I was soaked. Now I feel so much better. Will continue to pump the Alka Seltzer Plus for another day. Thanks for all the well wishes. I am off to collapse in bed for a little TV.
