MIDWEST: Sunday November 24

Good Morning,  A cloudy morning I wonder when we will see the sun again.  Its 49 going to about 45.  I'm not sure what I will do today, have lots to do, but need to be in the mood, of course never in the mood in the morning.  Yesterday morning the forecast was for sun and 50 for today, that changed.  Thats why we went into GR yesterday, better weather today, but not.  One thing I'm doing this morning is to go out by the road and check the yard.  Last night about 7 I saw a truck was parked across the road, didn't move for a while then it looked like it was going to shine for deer in the open field, that didn't happen, it kept coming down the yard and then across our property.  Have no idea why, he could of turned in the road.  If it left a mess, I won't be happy.

Sorry,  I can't type when the cat is on my lap.  For the story, I didn't know it was a truck until it came across the grass, I have lots of rocks in that area, I wonder if he hit any of them.

Yesterday was a good day, we stopped at a family, farm and home store, got a few things for gifts for Christmas, and some bird seed.  Didn't need the seed, but the doors were right in front of the big container, but the doors are gone and new ones will be in (store) December 2, then Logan needs to install them.  Seems like nothing goes as planned.  Ray will get $50.00 back on his credit card and $70.00 in rebates.  I think we will give Brad the $70.00 as he has made 2 trips and 3rd one coming up.  Didn't do much after getting home, watched TV and did some reading.

Carolyn,  Maybe you will get some answers on your back this week.

Linda,  I bet cool feels good after your hot summer, as long as it isn't cold.  The cactuses sound very pretty, I have 5, 4 are blooming now, the other is a Easter cactus and blooms in Spring.  I would like more but not alot of room, especially just before Christmas.  

Leroy,  being a horse person, I'm not into horse racing.  I did like the speed and action events at the horse shows.  Your temps are pretty nice, I hope we see a 50 again this fall.

Judi,  You are so right on the price of groceries, last week milk and eggs both went up one dollar.  $3.50 for a gallon of milk.  We all don't have much to say, but just check in with us, at least once a week.  Good to see you.

Lair,  Great job on ordering your food and getting pickup.  Help with putting away, sounds perfect.  OMG,  I guess rules are rules, so sad.

Connie,  How nice of you to give the girls some candy, no kids around here.  "(.  Peanuts are one of my favorite also.

Mary,  I have those days, all I want to do is eat, thats why I try to stay busy, don't need anymore pounds on.

Not much to say. Daughter Anne and husband Dennis still at Henry Ford hospital. Hoping to get him released soon.

I will be baking pumpkin cookies today. I measured out all ingredients last night so I need to get dressed and get started.

Carol, I keep trying to send you some sunshine.  Apparently, it hasn't worked yet.

Nebraska won yesterday, so they will go to a bowl for first time since 2016, I think.  Volleyball was also won.  First time in a long time that Nebraska has beaten Wisconsin by both teams in the same day.

I only remember to watch horse racing on Saturdays.  Not sure if it's on any other days.  Not much on today.  There is a tennis match I will try to watch after while.  Maybe a bit of football.

Good afternoon.  I am just getting up and in action.  Had another rough night.  I am on a regular schedule now.  Go to sleep and in 2 hours (give or take 5 min.) I wake up and have to rush to the bathroom.  Once there I have to wait 15 min. for the UTI to happen.  Then I can go back to bed and sleep another 2 hours.  I am getting some sleep but so many interruptions I would like to figure out a way to sleep on the toilet and not have to move all the time. It  is not as unpleasant with the furnace running. It sure is keeping the house warm.  Today we have grey skies and a high of 50 degrees, cool wind out of ESE.  I have been making out a list of what I have to get done every day this week.  It is 2 lists, one for my cooking and the other for the medications I will be running out of over the long weekend.  The hospice people are taking a lot of days off and I don't want to bother them while they are with family.  I did something new yesterday. Charlene gave me some Rutabagas to cook.   I peeled them and covered them with water and boiled for a long time.  After 2 hours they are still as hard as they were before and chew like a raw apple. I was thinking about cooking them some more but they have already lost any flavor they had. Don't know what to do with them now. Well, I best get moving and fill the ice cube trays.  Maybe I will take a shower this afternoon.  I hope you all have a nice Sunday,  Later..   
The cats must be cool today.  The all want to cuddle up to me and sleep.

Good Afternoon All. We went down for dinner and are home again. We both had the meatball plate. She only charges $10.50 for this. It's 2 large meatballs with gravy poured over them, candied carrots, oreo fluff, and a roll. Hubby had the roll and a piece of pumpkin pie. I skipped the roll and made the oreo fluff my dessert. Good thing I didn't eat anything for breakfast. 

We're going down to Bryan's for Thanksgiving on Thursday. He had told us earlier in the week that the Children's Cancer Connection had given Hudson and family, 4 tickets to the Iowa State football game next Saturday. They were planning on going to this game as a family outing. Bryan text yesterday that they probably won't be going to this game now. The weather people are saying the temperature is going to be 21º that day, and that doesn't include any wind. Neither Brylie, and especially not Hudson, can sit out in that kind of temperature for 3+hours. We were planning on coming home on Sat., but we'll actually get to spend a couple extra days with them now. They're having Julie's family Thanksgiving in Decorah this weekend.

Carol, Have you ever thought about putting up a trail camera out by the road? You would have video proof if damage was done to your property, and probably catch a license plate number also. If this happens again, you might want to talk to the DNR. You might want to research what sort of hunting can be done at night in your state. Deer isn't something that's allowed to be shot after hunting hours at night. Hunting times start like 30-60 min. before dawn and after sunset.  

Well, I need to go find a tutorial video to learn how to put a cuff on that cocoon cardigan for Brylie.

Sorry, late getting here. I did make church today then when I got home DH wanted to go to breakfast so we went to Ralston Keno. He had wanted to go to Cracker Barrel then on down to the candy store but the candy store doesn't open until 12 on Sunday so we came on home until about 11:30.  He got a shower and I crocheted until then.  It is not as far to Bakers candy as I thought.  We got there and found the chocolates we needed and also a couple sugar free items (I had forgotten my bro & wife so they will get a bag too).  What used to be $5 is now $8.95 but they will all like the chocolates.  On the way home I made a quick stop at the Goodwill in Gretna as LOMB said they are totally out of baking & muffin pans.  I got a couple 10 inch round cake pans and a couple small mixing bowls plus some other things and we were off and on our way home.  Got all the chocolates put into the bags so they are done and ready to go.  Youngest DGS will not be at Christmas so will take his on Thanksgiving.

Feels good to at least have one thing done.  Wishing you all a good night!

Carol, I'd put something like a partial telephone pole across where the truck drove thru so it would really throw them if they tried it again!  Lousy thing to do..drive thru someone yard intentionally!
