Old Barn under the Milky Way. To me this is a landmark just down the road from me. Te lights you see are from across the lake.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Another beautiful photo Bet. We had a frost advisory but I didn't notice any when I stepped out on the porch to call Penny, the only cat that stayed outside last night. They have all eaten and are outside now because several decided to dig in the large houseplant pots. Now I have a little potting soil on the floor to sweep up after church. Nothing much going on here. I aggravated my SI joint Wednesday night sitting on the floor working on a large puzzle with one of the kids so my right thigh has been very painful when I walk ever since. The last time it was from sitting on the ground outside with them and took several days to get better. Hopefully lesson learned.

Good morning all! 48° with the sun almost up over the trees. Of course I had to turn the heat on. I had no chance to adjust to temperatures gradually getting colder, they just dropped 25-30° at once. Of course it was just after I planted. I did use some of the basil when I cooked the other night. It was nice just going to the patio to pick some.
Church and choir practice today and maybe some stitching. My tootsies will be cold. I don't have flat shoes to wear so that I can walk up the steps when choir enters so I'll have to wear my sandals. Last thing I want to do is trip in front of the whole congregation.
Lovely pic Bet. Hope you get some relief from the pain Leslie.
Have a great day all!

Good morning. Typical November sky grey and cloudy. It gets blustery for a little while and then stops no precipitation.
I did this and that yesterday and managed to keep busy all day. Have dishes to wash this morning and more errands to do today.
Going to be a short week for work but have 2 leases to get signed by Tuesday. The 2nd lease I will be training the women that I have been training. She thinks she isn't doing well but she is. I told her once she gets used to all the paperwork and gets to understand things she will be fine.
Have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning. 26 so it warmed up a few degrees overnight. It was 21 when we went to bed. High is 35 which is double what it will be by next weekend.
Yesterdays Duluth adventure went just fine. We went to our favorite restaurant and had a late lunch. From there we went to Menards and got a few supplies for the inside trim project as well as sanding paper discs for the sander. I plan to refinish my beat up dining table. I have already sanded the leaves and they turned out beautiful but lots of work! Took 30 mins to do 1. The table size is the equivalent of 8 of that so many hours of sanding ahead. From Menards we headed to canal park. We were able to get a parking spot on the street for free. Bonus! We wandered thru the shops down there, had coffee in a new shop, and walked along the lake a while before heading to the arena. The game was ok until the end of the 2nd. We got a 5 min major penalty which was a joke. They scored 2 goals on us at that point. We left a bit early and made it home by 9.
We will work on the windows this morning and maybe the table. Ds is hoping to sleep until noon since he worked over night. They will be here mid afternoon. Get to play with the grand pup so thats always fun. Shes a good girl with lots of personality.
Gayle-Yes that is the player you were referring to. So tragic. Because of this tho MN state high school league now requires neck protectors for all high school players.
Well dh is already getting dressed to get to work. I also need to get my cake made so its cooled for frosting later. Have a good day.

All is set for today's meal. Just have to put the dishes in the oven at the appropriate times My dining room table seats 10. We will be 12 so I set up a "church" table for additional seating. I set my dining table for 8 to give everyone extra room. The remaining family will sit at the other table. We are celebrating today so the kids can go to their spouses on Thanksgiving day. To me it is not the day so much as the getting together. Be a blessing. Marlene

Good morning everyone. It is 34º and going to 40º and it's also cloudy and gray skies here.
Yesterday on my way to Lair's house to take him stuff I got for him at DG, I noticed the other gal was not at Phyllis's house. It was 11:30 and she's supposed to be there at 10. I stopped and got Phyllis up and fed the cat. Turns out the other gal was sick and text Phyllis's DD but not me. I was there about 1½ hours when the DD showed up with lunch. That was my chance to leave.
In the afternoon, I took Curt to Dollar general and then did a few things around home. I cleaned the fridge and freezing compartment on the fridge.
Today is finally the birthday party for Luke who turned 5 on Nov 14. The weekend it was originally planned, the family had the flu. Then it was planned for last Saturday but Luke's Dad and both Grandpa's are farmers and were finishing in the field before the rain predicted. It is today and I'm looking forward to seeing the kids.
Bette...lovely picture.
Leslie...Oh no on the SI. It sounds like your sitting on the ground/floor days are over. I seldom do any more either.
Wendy...I suppose you don't wear socks with sandals? lol Fun to be able to walk out and get fresh herbs. I loved your pic of the blue heron and flowers.....looks like summer there!
Sandy...I want to thank you for starting the weekend pic thread for me. My day turned was mixed up all day and I completely forgot about it. Glad your trainee is doing well. Do you have Friday off as well this week?
Melissa...Your day in Duluth sounds nice except for the game....sorry about that. Enjoy your Thanksgiving get together with DS & DIL.
Elaine...glad they had a birthday celebration for you.
Marlene....enjoy the day. We will be crowded here and need more than a church table. We will have the kids eat 1st and then the adults so all can sit.
Happy Sunday to all and especially to those celebrating Thanksgiving early. Charlene

This doesn't look like a day where I will find much inspiration from the weather. I don't like to wish away time as fast as it goes these days, but I have to say I am looking forward to fewer dismal days and more sunshine. The sooner the better. I don't think it was yesterday, but not too long ago I was able to cut another bouquet of flowers. It was after we had snow for sure. I was surprised to have so much variety still available. Not a ton of each thing, but I did get at least one each of ageratum, snapdragon, delphinium, lavender, May Night salvia, profusion zinnia, and YS. That is probably what reminded me that I want to try to propagate the mums I bought from my niece. I watched a video on how to do it and would like to see if I can pull it off. Since I am not doing cuttings of geranium or coleus this year, it will be trying my hand at mums. Last night I went out on the porch and snipped some pieces of mum. They are still blooming fairly well, so I am disappointed in myself that I didn't cut any to bring in for my bouquets. I have some in water now and will use some of those for my experiment. I'm not sure if my tomato plants from DM are going to work out well. I've been noticing mold on the surface of the soil but have been too busy to look into what to do about that. Perhaps I am figuring out the hard way why there is a watering inlet in the side of the pot. Watering from the top might not be how I should be watering. I haven't watered in a while, yet the soil is damp to the touch. I scraped the mold off and hope I got what I needed to. I don't know if this will hamper the safety of the fruit the plants put out or now. The plants themselves seem okay, but they are dropping some lower branches. I guess time will tell. Any ideas? I should probably put a fan on the plants now that I think of it. DH and I had to have a discussion about the AOA meals we have received. I already rearranged our delivery times because we are not going through the food fast enough. Even every other week is proving to be too much since DH is resisting the food. He isn't wrong when he complains that the meat is too chewy. The chicken is definitely unpleasant in its texture. I am going to try to take the meat out of the trays and cook the meat longer. If that makes a difference, we might still keep things the way they are. I guess it is worth a shot. If not, I will see if we can switch to the hot meals. I didn't select those to begin with because I worried we'd be locked into eating those meals even if we didn't feel like it just so we wouldn't waste anything. DH not eating the frozen stuff isn't working either, so I may as well switch if I can should the extra cooking not help tenderize the meat. Another issue is that they have a propensity to include Brussels sprouts in almost every meal. DH won't touch them. I don't think he has had corn in any of his meals, which is his favorite. Broccoli is fine and he does get that sometimes, but the peas and carrots are frowned upon. Cauliflower is okay, and carrots are tolerable if he is in an agreeable mood. There are potatoes sometimes. I think the only fruit he has gotten is raisins twice, which he put in with his bran flakes that came as a meal to make "raisin bran". Even something as simple as applesauce seems like it could be a good offering. No juice came with the last order. Maybe that is what they were counting as a fruit serving? DH has decided to shower this morning. That changes things for me a bit. I need to also shower for church. I'll need to hurry and perhaps take a somewhat cold shower. Time is ticking for me. He's been operating on his own time this morning. I didn't get his 7:00 meds in him until after 7:30, and his 8:00 medication was also late because of that and his eating requirements with the meds. I guess he was having stomach cramps and was on the toilet a long time. I pray he didn't plug the toilet again. Whatever happens with my shower, my cousin chat was pushed back to 1:30 today because I am going to 11:30 Mass. It is to be a special "Gospel" service to close out Black Catholic History Month. Since I was seeking inclusion and diversity when I left my former church, this seems like an opportunity I want to embrace. Well, DH is out of the shower now so I better get going. He needs help dressing. Wishing everyone a superb Sunday!

Tasty...You must be feeling better if you're heading out for a few things. Karen...I'd spray the surface of the soil with the hydrogen peroxide mixture. I will look for the link to that. Putting a fan on is a great idea too. About DH getting no corn...When Curt had the visit with dietician when he 1st discovered he had diabetes, he learned this: She told him he should eat lots of vegetables and she asked his favorites. He said corn and peas. Her reply was, "corn and peas are not vegetables...they are a carbohydrate to a diabetic and should be avoided as much as possible." That might explain lack of corn in those meals. Mary...The other side of my grandkids family plays that game and says it's a blast. phone Edited to add hydrogen peroxide thread thegardenersshed.proboards.com/thread/1862/hydrogen-peroxide-gardening-chart-added

It is currently 51° and cloudy.
Went out to lunch with my middle son yesterday we went to a Greek restaurant and I had spinach pie and a Greek salad, it was very good. Then we went to his house for a bit and then went to watch the play that his kids were in. My DIL was the director and oldest granddaughter played the lead. My son said there were a number of goofs but you were not able to pick them out. The kids just worked around the mistakes.
Then it was home and I finished to book I was reading and off to bed.
Have a good day.

Wendy...I suppose you don't wear socks with sandals? Fun to be able to walk out and get fresh herbs. I loved your pic of the blue heron and flowers.....looks like summer there! I do Charlene, just not to church. I thought I had a pair of stockings but, no. I'll have to remember to pick up a pair. It is rare that I even wear those. At least I don't have to walk in the snow. Although when it's cold in the house and I look out, the sand looks like a coating of snow. It takes a second to realize it's not. This time of year we have a ground cover that blooms little white flowers, Mexican clover. It's nickname is Florida snow because in a field of it, that's exactly what it looks like.

Thanks, Charlene, for the "recipe" for the peroxide solution. I'll look into that tomorrow.
Today has kicked my butt! I never made it to church today. I was showered, dressed, and ready to go when DH informed me that he had once again plugged the toilet in his bathroom. This time it didn't overflow, so there was a blessing in that regard. I couldn't plunge it clear even after trying the old wives tale of putting dish detergent in the toilet bowl. That has worked in the past for me. Not today. I was beside myself. I didn't want to call the plumber again - on the weekend especially! I called DBIL#3 and asked if he had a snake to clear the clog. I figured even if he didn't, I would give him the money to buy one. He doesn't have one and declined trying with an auger, saying I should call a particular local plumber. According to him, that is the guy we used to do the plumbing when we did the addition to the house. He "knows" DH and would help us out. I doubt that would be free, but I checked online for his contact info. Facebook said he was closed. Not sure if that is for today or if he isn't in business anymore. I also texted my cousin who I was to chat with today to see if they had a toilet snake. They don't either. I next checked in with the next door neighbor who has come to our aid multiple times lately. He also didn't have a snake. Since my plunging wasn't working well, he said he could try with his plunger. Mine didn't seem different from his, but his plunging a few times did the trick. Blockage gone - for now. He found a "better" toilet that was less likely to plug and offered to put it in for us. I'm so disgusted because for about $60 more than what I paid for this problem toilet, I could have had a better one. If this toilet is going to keep plugging up (DH doesn't know what he does when he plugs it), I might be better off getting a different toilet even though I just bought this one in July. Paying $225 every time DH plugs the toilet is going to get out of hand quickly! I just need to determine if this is actually a toilet problem or if DH putting "flushable" wipes down the toilet could be causing a problem further out in our pipeline. I have no idea what to think.
Because that wasn't bad enough, I believe I have developed a detached retina. After the neighbor left and I was washing up, I began getting weird black wavy lines in my right eye. At first, I thought I had an eyelash in my eye, or perhaps water had gotten on an eyelash and I had to wipe it away. That isn't the case. There is definitely a problem with floaters going on. I'll need to get right on that tomorrow and hope I can get in to see DH's retina specialist ASAP. This is nothing to fool around with. I also need to call the PCP tomorrow about my kidney test results. I know they are in. I just didn't want to check My Chart to get the results because I don't know to interpret the report. Tomorrow ought to be another dandy day around here!
I'm going to try to relax the rest of the night. We'll see how that goes. Prayers would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Having checked online what time the stores on the mainland would open this morning, I timed my arrival there for about 11 am. Perfect timing, I thought. Well, turns out they opened at 9, so everywhere was busy. Oh, well! I got all the odds and ends I wanted and lots more besides 🤫. Took quite a while but I actually took time to look rather than just pick up what was on my list - no grocery shopping in this lot. Didn't get home til about 3pm, but everything is unpacked and put away and I'm not totally out of energy. I'm beginning to think part of the problem is lack of humidity in the condo so tomorrow we'll go and find an inexpensive humidifier and see if that helps. Right now there is a shepherd's pie in the oven for supper.
