Good morning looks like the nasty weather has moved. I have some sun and clouds. It rained all day and night yesterday.
I did get some Christmas shopping done yesterday. Wasn't to busy . Bette I'm not cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. YDD & DH are cooking. My dad is riding along with me so should be a fun day. It does seem weird not getting things ready for the holiday.
Today I will get the laundry done and other household chores. Nothing to exciting.
Have a wonderful day.

Today I will be prepping for tomorrow's family Thanksgiving. We will be 12, only missing Brogan who is studying in Italy. Everyone brings a dish to pass. I'm doing the ham, pumpkin pie, and homemade croissants. Be a blessing to someone. Marlene

Good morning. It's a chilly start to the day and the high will be only 63. Whether I get something done outside will depend on the wind. I need to take the trash and will do a few things inside. Last night when I turned the light in the cage off I noticed a few tiny buds on my holiday cactus so maybe it will bloom for Christmas, or New Years.

Good morning everyone. It is 31º and going to upper 30s later. IF the sun would happen to appear we might even see 40º.
Yesterday I went to the neighboring town and met DD for lunch. In the afternoon I went to Phyllis's for an hour or so and washed and curled her hair so she'd look good to go out last night. I picked her up at 5 and we went to the Mennonite Thanksgiving feast. They invite locals ( 200 people) and fix and serve a wonderful meal. Afterward the youth (ages 14-18) of their church entertain with the most glorious acapella hymn sing. We got home about 8:30.
Today I am starting by cleaning my kitchen and doing a load of laundry. Later this morning I am going to Dollar General and hope to get my last 2 Christmas presents and 1 birthday present for Leaton who will be turning 5 in December.
Bette...You're up early today. I am surprised to see so much green there in late November. Our trees are all colors...in fact most are bare now.
Sandy...I remember one year we didn't cook for Thanksgiving and instead went to DD's house. It was great until the day after when there were no leftovers. We then went out and bought a small turkey and made it just to have some of those leftovers we look forward to every year.
Happy Saturday to all. Charlene

Good morning all! 53° when I got up this morning and sunny. Our high today will probably match our normal daily low. I may test out the heat but long sleeves, socks and hoodie first. All the planting I did, the plants probably have cold tootsies now.
I'll go to the village dinner for Thanksgiving. I'm bringing mashed potatoes this year so I'd better go buy some potatoes.
Have a great day all!

I thought of you this week when there was a big news story here about Winona State being named #1 state college in Minnesota. If I recall correctly, your DGD goes there, right?

You have a good memory. Right now he is the one studying in Italy. Winona has been in the news quite often lately. This week the boyfriend of a lady who lived there was convicted of murdering her. Also, yesterday there was a huge fire at some horse farm

So it was your grandson at Winona....I was close. Yes, both of those other news items have been big news here as well. Luckily only 2 horses died, but many buildings a complete loss. Curt's oldest son and family live in Winona. Charlene

Good morning all (well, it's morning as I start this). A lovely bright sunny day today which is really appreciated after a couple of damp and dismal gray days. My sleeping has left a lot to be desired this week. The cough I had a couple of weeks ago has returned with a vengeance so between being tired and not feeling great, I haven't been doing too much - certainly nothing worth writing about. Not sure that anything exciting will be happening today either. I do now have a list of what baking I need/want to get done ready for next w/e sale. Lots to get done. This is the one sale when we take orders for our goodies as well as having our regular selection available. Our pre-sales have been pretty good this year surpassing last year's total. Have a super Saturday 🙂.

Good afternoon. It has been a busy morning so I didn't get to see Annabelle before here guests arrived for her birthday party. The party is over at 3 so I will get there about 2:30. I have made the dough for both French Bread and a soft White Bread. Both have done there first rise in the oven and now are in the refrigerator for the second rise and I can bake them late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. After the first bread dough was done I did some research on you tube about my mixer. There is a pin that started coming out about 5 years ago when i made bread so I had it wrapped in duct tape to help hold the pin in. I think I found why it was doing it so I spend a lot of time getting the tape and the glue off the mixer and made the necessary adjustment. Then I decided the mixer needed a good cleaning all over. It actually shines now. Made the second batch of dough and it worked just fine. Cleaned up the kitchen from the bread making and got all the leftover turkey into the freezer. Had a few of my oil, vinegar or wine bottles that were empty and cleaned so I got them filled. Had no garlic oil so just finished steeping that. I still need to get the leftover rolls packaged up and in the freezers. I am hoping to start cleaning the bat cave after I go to work and go to see Annabelle.
Yesterday when I got home from work I did get my new garden wagon put together. I loaded it twice with stuff that was on the side porch from the greenhouse and got that stuff to the garage and shop and mostly put away. Still have 2 small potting tables and a few other things to move. Also the display from work is now in the shop but not put together. I will get that done and it will take up less room.
I want to get all of next weeks work done by Wednesday night so I have the 4 days off. That way I should be able to get a lot done around here both inside and out.
Back to work as I need to be out of here in an hour if I am going to get to DD's to see Annabelle by 2:30.

Good afternoon. We are on our way to Duluth. The sun is shining and its 32. We got free hockey tickets from dhs co worker who has season tickets. He’s hunting. Tonight is a memorial night for a former player who was tragically killed last year in a freak hockey accident. He was originally from Hibbing, MN which is about 45 mins from us and his mom sometimes works with me. What I didn’t realize when we took them is that Duluths huge Christmas light display opens tonight. Its by the arena. Its gonna be nuts down there and parking will suck. We plan to just be down there early (3ish). Game is at 5. We can always go for a walk along the lake.
Last night we got the windows mostly trimmed outside. Ran out of daylight and finished this morning. Dh got the foam window sealant put in the cracks inside and got the trim ready to put back up. Well surprise, the new window is slightly bigger and the trim is too short. Thankfully we have extra trim in the garage. Pays to never throw anything away! We put the project away for another day. Ds and dil will be coming for lunch tomorrow since they work Thanksgiving.
Have a great rest of the day.

I am not encouraged by the message at the bottom of the laptop screen that tells me "temps to drop". It isn't like it is warm outside now, so when they drop we'll be feeling it for sure. It's breezy enough that the spinner I can see from the office window is moving pretty good. Every once in a while, the yew gets stirred up also. First thing I did this morning was get things ready to mail to Mac for his birthday on Wednesday. I can't believe the little guy is turning 5 already. I wanted to send more than what I have, so I planned to pick up an outfit at Meijer while I was there getting a turkey for us. I really like the thermal shirt I got him and the bottoms are a different shade of blue than the jeans I am giving him for Christmas. Blue is one of his favorite colors, so I am leaning into that. I HOPE the Chicago post office can figure out how to get the package to the kids' house by Wednesday. It is "expected" to arrive on Monday, but I'll believe that when it happens. I paid extra to be able to presume it will get there at least by Mac's birthday. They have 2 days of extra grace to pull that off. I put so much into getting that all taken care that I am kind of tired. The gloomy sky might also be a reason why I'd love a nap. That may or may not happen. I washed the fleece for Winston's blanket this morning. I'd love to work on that today and maybe finish it. It might be the only thing I get done. Bet, that is a lovely late November sky! Looks like it is just about time now that you are getting ready to see Annabelle. Have a wonderful visit with her! I'm sure, Sandy, that it does seem odd to not be preparing anything for Thanksgiving. I hope it turns out to be a good time for you all. Leftovers going home with you would be nice. Enjoy tomorrow with your family, Marlene. Leslie, it would be so nice if you did get blooms for Christmas. I meant to say that I think it is so smart of you to cage the plants you want to keep safe from digging paws. It sure sounds, Charlene, like everything was wonderful at the Thanksgiving meal. I'm glad for you and Phyllis. What did she think of it all? Hopefully everything you planted did okay with the cooler temps, Wendy. How nice that the village does a Thanksgiving meal for you all! Aha! Tasty, you have the sunshine today, eh? Enjoy it for me too, please. Sorry about your lack of sleep and the cough. I hope it won't last much longer. Good deal on the pre-sale success! Wow, Melissa, nice score on getting those hockey tickets! I guess getting there early will be a must with the holiday light display opening at the same time. Enjoy it all! I'm glad you will get to see your DSon and DDIL since they will be working on Thursday. So long as we get in our time with the kiddos, when doesn't especially matter. Guess I better scoot. I'm fluffing the dryer stuff so I can take care of that before drying the fleece for Winston's blanket. Have a sensational Saturday!

Good morning, its 44° headed to highs around 50°. We have mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers remain in the forecast through the weekend.
Yesterday was grocery shopping and as I hadn’t done any real shopping in almost 2 weeks, I needed just about everything. Fred Meyer had a free turkey when you spend$100. And Safeway had a free turkey was with a min. purchase of $150. or more. I did my shopping at Fred Meyer but turns out I could have gotten a free turkey at either of the stores.
We are between rain showers so this morning I got out the leaf blower and blew the leaves off the sidewalk and driveway. The leaves were wet so I wanted to remove them from the sidewalk. I have a lawn service scheduled to pick up leaves next week. Last year it took 3 men an hour and they removed 5 yards of debris. Way too many leaves for us to deal with anymore.
Bet, that is another beautiful view you have there. Happy Birthday Annabelle.
Melissa, your new fridge is impressive. The app for your phone sounds like a good idea for you and something you would use. I like the flex drawer and like that you can set it either as a fridge or freezer.
Charlene, that was really nice of you to take Phyllis with you last night. I am sure she also appreciated you doing her hair. That brings back so many memories of the times I washed and curled my mom’s hair.
Leslie, I saw the picture of your caged plants and they look great.
Sandy, nice to get some Christmas shopping done, I used to have so many on my list it took months to do the shopping, now that I am retired my list is less and less each year.
Tasty, I hope you feel better soon.
Marlene, enjoy your family Thanksgiving.
Karen, a nap always sounds good when the sky is gloomy. Wow Mac is turning 5 already, Happy Birthday Mac.
Have a great day everyone.
