Good morning. It is 37°here this morning and still raining. The wind is also whipping. I am right on the edge of where they are getting a wintry mix. Fortunately I am not going in that direction today for work. Hopefully where I am headed the rain is suppose to stop around 10 AM but don't think the wind will let up much. I was planning about being on the road by about 7:30 this morning but it is still quite dark out so think I will wait a bit. Just went out and filled the feeders and got the rain measurement. We have received 1.58" of rain in the past 24 hours. In the next half hour or so they are saying we will have a wintry mix but it since it is 37° who knows. From now until 1 PM we the forecast is showing only about .o6" more of rain.
Chris, enjoy you class today.
Ann, don't you hate it when you oversleep. Did you go shopping in the rain yesterday?
Have a great day.

Good morning gang. We still have rain coming down too, not heavy but definitely rain. Temperature is about 39 and looks like it will stay there all day. Didn’t make it here yesterday after 2 nights of just a couple of hours sleep - to put it mildly, I didn’t have much energy. Last night hubby says I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Maybe today I can get some baking done before we meet friends for lunch. We are lucky in that we have had no signs of that 'white stuff' yet but we know it will be here before long. Santa Claus parades are showing up in the County this weekend so busy times ahead. Have a fabulous Friday.

Good Morning ! Our DGD in Amarillo just delivered a healthy baby boy! They did not know if a girl or boy. He is the tie breaker since they already have a little boy, 5, and a girl, 1. Just another usual Friday. I am off to work, then we have a pot luck with soup and salad here tonight. Have a wonderful day if I don't make it back here.

Good morning. A cold morning, 47º, and a warm afternoon. Just a few errands today and then kicking back. Opps, I do have the sheets in the washer but the washer and drier do most of the work. :)
Help yourself to coffee and cinnamon rolls.
Congrats Tammy!! A healthy baby is a good thing. So happy for y'all.

Tasty, sorry you are having some restless non sleep nights. Last night I was awake several times and had a time getting back to sleep. Hope you get some baking done and enjoy lunch with friends.
Tammy, congratulations on the new DGGS. Hope you sell a lot today.
Mamma, thanks for the offer of coffee and cinnamon buns. However I will bring some tea along.
I am being bad. I don't want to go to work. I should have left over an hour ago. For some reason my mind set is into doing housework. I think Alice has inspired me to keep things done. It is so easy to tell her to clean and not have to drag out the vacuum all the time. The dishwasher has done a load and I got the box with that darn display that was sent to me by mistake and everything moved to the porch to go to the garage and Alice has my mess with bits of styrofoam etc. all cleaned up. I am going to the shop to put my new garden wagon I got yesterday together so I can haul all the stuff on the porch to the garage. While I am doing that I will turn Alice loose on this area where my computer is. I plan on leaving for work around noon time and also doing some shopping while I am at the town where Walmart is. I will just finish up the rest of my work either tomorrow or Sunday. I am doing today what is due by today. The rest can wait a few days.

Congratulations, Tammy.
When I got to breakfast this morning there was a good 3 in of wet sloppy snow on the ground. We are at about 1,000 ft here above the valley. Down in the city they're getting just rain. I had a floor show for breakfast watching them clear the snow from the road and from in front of the dumpsters. It's going to be in the low 40s today so this won't last, but it is a bit of a downer!
Well, there's still some brain cells left in the old girl. I tried every which way I could think of to use an unfamiliar printer and unfamiliar word processing software to print and envelope yesterday. No luck. This morning, I took another stab at it and managed to do it after going back and forth between both programs twice. Let's just say the process is not intuitive.
I don't have any stamps and they have no place to buy them here. This is an application for some of my retirement money so I don't bounce another check so I was anxious to get this in the mail. Our secretary addressed the envelope for me and when she called the main office to ask about the stamp they said just bring the envelope up and they would mail it no charge! That's the first free thing I think I've gotten from here LOL
Hope you all have a good day.
Birdy

Good morning! Wish I could share our bright sunshine with all y'all in the pouring rain or snow. There was snow in the NC mountains but nothing here, as usual, and that is okay by me.
I just got some good news from DH -- DS1 is coming from Kentucky for Thanksgiving, and we were expecting him to be here early next week. He's coming tomorrow! Pretty excited about that. Also, need to clear all the stuff out of the guest bedroom we've been using as a catchall!
Birdy, I'm glad you got your mail out but my goodness, there should be some way for residents to get stamps.
Bet, another lovely picture. I had the cleaning bug this morning too and am glad to have that done.
Chris, nice to have a class you love -- makes going to work a lot easier!
Ann, I hope you made to your class in time and got energized for the day.
Tasty, yay for a good night's sleep.
Congrats Tammy & Dave on a new great-grand! That's wonderful!
Mamma, coffee and a cinnamon roll sound perfect. So glad you got the bread machine. I never replaced mine after it died but it did make the best dough.

Holy Cow. I just got back from Fry's to get the butter (5 pounds of it) and turkey that is on sale. It was wall to wall people. I'm sure glad I had on my mask. The stores will be worse than that in a month and worse in two. So glad I normally use delivery. Way too peopley out there!!!!!!! The traffic was just as bad and I only have to drive a few blocks.
The sheets are now in the dryer and I'm about ready, oh nuts, I forgot to take the butter out of the fridge. It looks like the roll out dough will have to wait until afternoon to get mixed. No rush, I'm not baking them until tomorrow. Some time today Oscar ( my super handyman) is coming back to remeasure something on the french door. He is having a hard time finding a door to fit in its place and still be affordable for me. He is very kind to me.

Hello and good afternoon, friends. This is my 2nd attempt to write today. I am having some pain in my right hand and finally, now after two pills for the arthritis have begun to work, I can quickly get on here.
Tammy, congratulations to you and Dave on the birth of your new great grandson! Will you have an opportunity to see him during the Thanksgiving holiday and/or Christmas?
Bet, nice picture! Thanks for sharing. Hope you got done what you wanted today.
Birdy, I am surprised that your place doesn't sale stamps to residents. I am sure that you aren't the only resident that has been in need of just one or two stamps. Maybe it is something that could be brought up at a future resident meeting or you could consider asking for/buying from family/friends that visit. Sending you big warm hugs. Elza, nice to read that DS#1 will be arriving soon! I know that time you'll spend together will be treasured.
Ann, I don't sleep in too often, but when I do, it tends to throw off the rest of my day. Hope you enjoyed your morning exercise program.
Tasty, so happy you were able to finally get a good night of sleep!
mamma, glad you made it out to Fry's to get your butter and turkey.
As I said yesterday, dinner this evening will be pasta sauce defrosted from the freezer and some fresh ravioli. Waving to all and wishing you a relaxing afternoon and evening. Lori
Chris, having a teaching job you enjoy makes your day move quickly. Hope the kids and you had a good time!

Thanks for the good wishes. His name is Nolan Andy, 6 lb 11 oz, and 20.5 inches long. Everyone is doing well. We plan on going to Amarillo for Christmas, so will get to meet Nolan.
It was a so-so day at the shop. We did make just over $4,000 so far this month. that's good. And we still have one week to be open this month.
Need to run. I don't have an Alice, Annie or Hazel, so the vacuuming is up to me!
