Good morning! It's raining; it's pouring! YEA!!! Over an inch is predicted in this area which is most welcome by the firefighters battling the brush fires. The wind is still with us so the rain might go sideways sometimes. We were thinking of going to the grocery store this morning in hopes of avoiding the weekend pre-Thanksgiving rush. Our chicken dinner was really good last night...simple. I made my baked potato topping to put on sweet potato that I cooked. We had green beans and a salad on the side. Will probably finish the venison pie tonight. I'll order salads from the Baldwin. No other plans at the moment. Enjoy your day! Waving!

Good morning. Right now it is snowing steadily but a very wet snow that is melting off the roads. I doubt it will keep up much longer not really a snowstorm by our standards but it is a bit of a downer anyway. We have been spoiled by this late warm fall.
Gina and I worked on getting some things out of the house yesterday. The U-Haul boxes had one padlock that would not open with the key for the others. We think Troy had it open to put some things in and put the wrong padlock. I can't get him on his phone he's in a dead area out of town. So U-Haul told me to go ahead and have the padlock cut if we need to. It's too cold and wet to work out there and probably will be until later next week so that's all she wrote for now. He parked my car in the garage and I can't sell it until they can pull it out and they can't pull it out until we empty the boxes and get them out of there. Ever have one of those days you want to scream?
Other than that, not much going on. I did find my Wren birdhouse and brought it back to the nursing home. We will hang it in the bush by the window in the spring.
Have a good day and enjoy all that cooking. It sure sounds good.

good morning
Burrrrrr, it's 48º, and a bit of a north wind so my nose got nipped in the cold. For some reason it felt much colder this morning at the same temp as yesterday. And Mandy was quite pokey. Home now, washer is working, and I'm enjoying a hot cup of coffee and my cookies.
Last night I slept good but I remember I had some really odd dreams. I just don't remember what they all were. It was 9:30 and I was in bed and asleep by 9:40 at least. So much yawning that I figured why stay up any later.
Yesterday I got the bread machine and now I have my butter and eggs out getting to room temperature. After the wash and my coffee I'll get started on cinnamon rolls. The machine will do the mixing, kneading, and first rise of the dough. I will roll and bake.
Be safe in the snow and stay warm.

Hi, friends! A much cooler day is in the forecast today, but not complaints here--feels so good and refreshing!
DH has some work to do around outside today; I have some work to do inside on the computer/phone. Dinner will be pasta sauce from the freezer, and we'll have that over some ravioli. Lori

Good morning, well what's left of it. I am taking mavis to dr. Later this afternoon which is okay as I use her car and gas.
We ran to Walmart as I needed an orange for muffins and mushrooms for that Swiss cheese meatloaf that's floating around on Facebook.
I have cranberry muffins in oven, laundry going and the ice machine going. I still want to make some Oatmeal raisin cookies.
You guys can keep the rain and snow. It's bad enough it chilly here.
Birdy- oh not good. Sorry things aren't working out for you. Hope the day gets better.
Okay, I better get busy again.
Elaine

This morning I called my orthopedic doctor to help with my foot. Only to learn he doesn't "do" feet. So back to getting no relief from the podiatrist. Whom I will be seeing today at 4:30. I am thrilled that I can get in today. My foot has been so painful, as soon as I stepped out of bed.
Usually I made cinnamon raisin caramel rolls. But that has been years. Today with the help of the new bread machine I made cinnamon rolls and frosted them. They turned out too good. I had to sample one before I shared any and am having a hard time not sampling another. hehehe They rose so well that I don't have anything deep enough for store them. Guess I'll have to eat them all quickly. LOL Seriously I don't have anything that deep. Covering them will take off all the frosting when the cover comes off. Hmmmmm

I'm having a glass of delicious eggnog. I thought maybe I was over it. Nope. Birdy, I can well understand how packing up your house can make you anxious. Such mixed feelings are a given I think. Wishing you peacefulness that at least that job is nearly done. Mamma, I think you can do better than one cinnamon caramel roll. 😊 They sound scrumptious! I'm roasting chicken drumsticks for supper and then making gravy for them and baked potatoes.

Change of dinner plans for this evening---moving pasta sauce and ravioli to tomorrow evening. Instead, tonight I am baking chicken breasts in mushroom soup, and we'll have a California blend veggie. I wanted to have some mashed potatoes with the delicious mushroom gravy, but just realize we have no potatoes in either of the refrigerators. Then I decided we could do egg noodles, but unfortunately, we have none either. Dinner will be what it is this evening, and I have already begun a grocery shopping list.
Next week, Wednesday, we will be picking DGD up to stay with us for a few days. DD was at the last minute informed at work this morning that she has to work Thanksgiving Day and the following three days afterwards due to a shortage of staff. DED is not happy, but such is the life of working in a hospital. She shared this with her Ex, but at the time, he refuses to out help DD as it messes up his plans. Oh well, his loss will be Grandpa and Grandma's gain! Since Lilith isn't a good eater, DH and I said more than likely we will skip the traditional Thanksgiving meal and make something different that day.
(((Birdy))), thinking of you and praying that everything will work out in the end.
mamma, enjoy your new bread machine. Glad you were so pleased with your cinnamon rolls---I'll take one please to enjoy with my cup of HC. I do have a bread machine that is probably 20 years old--it was a gift from my DM. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. I once used it several times weekly while DH was still working, but now a days, it has to be dusted off in between uses.
Waving to everyone not mentioned. I must close as DH just brought our neighbor from the next street in to visit and I want to quickly make up a plate of treats for him to take home. Lori

Hello, Hope everyone had a nice day. It was good here. Sunny, fairly warm. We had a good day at the shop.
I thawed out pork chops, so will probably just broil them. I love the pork flavored stove top stuffing and have several boxes, so will mix up one of those. My regular store does not carry that flavor so when I see it, I stock up.
The company is here today replacing the roof on the rv. It will be nice to have that done. Pretty sure they are not finished but I am not sure.
Lori, so glad you get a few days with DD and the princess.
Ann, so happy your area is getting much needed rain.
Adorable photo Bet!
Mamma, you have me hungry for cinnamon rolls! Recently I bought some frozen ones and they were not too bad. We may do that the day after Thanksgiving for our breakfast.
Chris, we are having a craft fair at Care this weekend. It is a lady from the park organizing it. She has 14 vendors so far. Not sure what they will be offering for sale. We are hoping to get extra foot traffic that day, so will do some flash sales.
Birdy, hope everything gets cleared up for you. I know all the small delays add up to a lot of frustration.
Helen, DH sure is enjoying the eggnog that I have been buying for him. Oh, that reminds me I need to make an eggnog custard pie while I have the chance. I don't care to drink the stuff but I do love the flavor of it.
Waving to everyone. Have a great evening !

Yum, all the holiday baking sounds wonderful! Since getting my cinnamon rolls made, I haven't done anything else but I do need to get ingredients for our holiday snack mix, and also make another batch of hot chocolate mix. It's chilly today and I am ready for snuggling up with a nice hot drink.
DH is bringing home chicken from Publix for our dinner so I am being a little bit lazy this afternoon (except for dusting and laundry). I think he's home so a big wave for everyone ~

Good evening. This has been a crazy mixed up week for me. Today is the first day I have worked all week so it seems like Monday or Tuesday for me. It turned out to be an easy day and I was home about 1:30. I was really concerned about work as I had some new jobs due to the merge of the company I worked for with another subsidiary of the big conglomerate. They are very confusing and we haven't had any training. I had a long phone conversation with my manager yesterday and said don't worry do what ever you have to do to get out of the job questions. They don't give us the tools and training to work with then they get whatever they get for work. He sounds pretty upset also as he doesn't have the answers we need. Tomorrow may turn into a long day but actually a rather easy day. Not sure what I have done since I got home but been busy. Have changed my mind about dinner several times. Was going to have some beef stew I pulled from the freezer so decided I wanted some biscuits with it then came the though of Cheddar Bay Biscuits so started started looking at what recipes I had and found a Black pepper bacon cheddar biscuit that sounded good. That led to baking a pound of bacon so then I wanted something with more bacon after I ate almost have the pound I cooked. That lead to eggs a quiche or an omelette? I will have some toast and green salad with it. I am working on creating a Black Pepper, bacon, cheddar bay biscuit. It I get that written up tonight I will have the chili with that tomorrow night.
Our low this morning was 38° it started raining about 7 but it has been very light rain most of the day but this evening is sounds like it is raining pretty heavy. The high here was 41° and 39° at about 6 PM and the low is to be 36°. Really flirting with the possible s word but not mentioned in the forecast. Showers tomorrow morning then a fairly good weekend with some sun but highs in the low 40's.
I can't believe my baby is going to be 8 tomorrow. It doesn't seem possible. It seems like yesterday she was the little toddler that was with me every day.
Ann glad you are getting the much needed rain. I know we need it but not really enjoying it this evening. Did you get shopping today? Must be nice to order salad for dinner. I love salads but don't eat enough as on person and the fresh making spoil so quickly.
Birdy, I can't imagine how frustrating it must be trying to get things done when you just can't jump up and take charge. Any luck on figuring our if there is any way for you to get the therapy that you need in Rochester? Hang in there my friend. You are a strong willed person and you will make things work. I am sure you will enjoy the wren house come spring. You're going to have the table by the window an absolute bird haven eventually.
Mamma, glad your rolls came out great today. No container they fit in guess you will just have to eat them faster.
Chris, you just keep that dang snow right over there in Vermont. LOL Sounds like you had quite the entourage with your shopping. That must have been interesting. Good to read that Brian is getting out and around. I am sure he is going stir crazy not working. I know my son is since he broke his foot. Happy sewing. That is a lot of craft fairs between now and Christmas.
Lori, with a wonderful opportunity to spend time with Lilith. Sometime it is not so bad that DD ex is such as ass.
Elaine, I think it is about time you let your neighbors it cost money for gas to run your vehicle. At this point I would feel like they were taking advantage of me. I am sure they don't think about it but I do think it is proper to bring this to their attention. Your sure are a baking machine lately.
Helen, the gravy is the most important part of your dinner tonight.
Tammy, do you have any plans to go out traveling with the motor home again? Hope the craft fair more business to the shop.
Elza, a lazy day is good once in a while.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet
