Another shot of main street on a beautiful November day. Note the date on this building. All of the stores on main street were built back in the early 1900's on this side of main street except for the drug store which burned in early 60's.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Guessing Bet you fat fingered the keys and hit the 9 vs the 0 for the date. I’m not ready for my birthday yet. Lol! Its 31 and high is only 33 today.
Yesterday I got home early, about 10. I unloaded all the stuff from the suburban. Of course it was raining. I switched out my suede boots for crocs to not get my boots any wetter. My stupid crocs are bald so I slipped stepping on the threshold coming in with both arms full and ended up on the rug. Falling didn’t hurt except my left arm scraped across the door strike plate. Even with a coat and sweatshirt on it peeled the top layer of skin off my arm. Would have been really bad if not for that. Otherwise just annoying. I should throw them away since I have slipped in them before. I spent the day unpacking, showered and got my hair washed, and did 3 loads of laundry. I washed my 2 new windows in the afternoon once the rain stopped. There were big stickers to protect the glass on both sides and you could see the 1/2” strip around where the edges had been. There was also a bit of silicone on them that had gotten smeared during install. Since the weather is cooling a lot it was the day to get that done. They look much better.
Today I need to run some errands. I will empty out the fridge (just a few condiments left in it) and freezer since the new one comes tomorrow. Dds bf will come over later and help dh take it out of the house. We’ll see what other trouble I can get in to today. I want to finish my book and get that returned as I have a new one in I need to pick up.
Nothing else exciting here. I hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks Melissa. Fat fingers and too early in the morning. I could say I was thinking of you and your birthday. LOL
Sorry about your Mom's accident. I am sure it shook up a bit. At least she wasn't hurt. You are lucky on you fall that all you did was scrap your arm. It could have been a lot worse. I am sure you are going to be happy to get that new refrigerator. I should wash windows before it gets any colder but don't think it is going to happen.

Good morning. Don't know what I'll do today before ESL class this afternoon. Yesterday we had sprinkles so don't know if it has dried enough to do anything with the leaves. I'm thinking I should at least blow the ones in the back yard even though it won't stay that way for long as there are plenty more left to fall. DS#2 told me that Food Lion had frozen turkeys for $.29 per pound. He got one for$4 and didn't have to purchase a minimum amount of groceries. I went to ours yesterday and they were 39 cents per pound with a minimum $35 purchase before the cost of the turkey. So I picked up things they had on sale that I could use that wouldn't be more than what I pay at Walmart and got a turkey for $5. Whenever I decide to cook it I'll put a lot of the meat back in the freezer to use later. Right now I don't have room in my fridge to thaw it out. DS is going to cook his this weekend since he has his girls and put the leftovers in his freezer.
Bet, I'm sure you needed that extra sleep after all you did to prepare for that dinner.
Melissa, my old crocs are getting worn also. I keep them on my porch and use them while working outside. I have a newer pair that I wear when I go to a store but the bottom is higher and I've had to be careful at times so I don't twist an ankle like I did wearing clogs as a teenager. Sorry about your fall but glad you didn't break your arm.

Good morning everyone. It is 29º and going to 35º. Seems cold after our extended fall with warmer temps, but it is about average for this time of year. Snow in the forecast for this afternoon.
Yesterday I cleaned for the lady minister and then came home and got myself cleaned up to go to my appointment. I had to have x-rays of my left knee before he attempted to give it a shot. He said about 3/4 of my knee is shot, but he thinks I can get by until next summer to have knee replacement. He got the shot in with no pain and that knee feels so much better today. I can actually walk up the steps like an adult with one foot ahead of the other rather than like a toddler if you know what I mean.
I went and visited lair for awhile and got there just as the furnace guy was finishing up. They got that furnace installed in the knick of time since this colder weather is here to stay.
Today is a Phyllis day. Her DD went and checked of the Assisted living yesterday and I am curious to know what she found out. Not sure what I will do when I get home from there.
Bette....Glad to hear the turkey dinner went well for you. Do you have to do a Christmas dinner?
Melissa...Oh no on the fall yesterday! Hope it heals quickly. I agree the crocs should go before something more serious happens. Did you have to use a ladder to get the stickers off the outside of the windows? Yipes....I don't like tall ladders any more.
Leslie...They've had some good sales here lately as well. Last week was if you buy $50 worth of meat, you got a free turkey. Curt bought over $50 and got the turkey and gave it to me. It is 17#. We've had quite a bit of rain the past couple days (1½ inches) so I think my leaves will remain ground cover until Spring.
Happy Wednesday to all. Charlene

It is gloomy looking outside right now. Guess that is to be expected since rain will be returning this afternoon. I hope to be home and inside when that happens. This morning's plan is to try to go to the museum for a little bit. Perhaps an hour or so max. That will depend on how DH is doing. I would like to put in a movie to occupy him, but if it finishes before I get home for some reason it will annoy him that he can't watch anything else until I get home. He's currently obsessing about his computer not working right. It does what it needs to do if he would just remember to maximize the screen. This morning I put a sticker on the top of the screen to show him where he is to click to do that. I discovered this morning that it would be in my best interest to get on his laptop at some point and log him out of eBay. He was on there this morning. I changed his password a long time ago, but I neglected to log him out on his computer so he can still get on there. I don't need him buying anymore crap. I see he has about $75 worth of movies in his cart. I swear his brain thinks he still has his video store! The movies he wants to buy are nothing more than a lot of movies someone wants to get rid of. No good titles that I saw. I think I deleted everything in his cart but won't know for sure until I get on his computer. I wasn't signed in when I did it, so I can't be sure. Bet, your pictures so make me want to come to your neck of the woods. So pretty! Sorry to hear about that fall, Melissa. I hope you aren't sore from that for too long. At least you didn't break anything? Gosh, Leslie, those turkey prices are way better than what I am seeing here. The best I saw was .99 a pound. I thought the prices have been better in the past. Maybe the closer to Thanksgiving we get they will be lower just to get rid of inventory. Charlene, I am glad you feel better after your shot and can likely wait on the knee replacement. I need to get moving. I am not dressed and still need to do DH's insulin. Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday!

Yesterday I got three pieces of mail from my insurance company. 1. letter saying they approved me for the change in my insurance for next year. 2. new card for new insurance plan 3. new card for old insurance plan. It's nice to know that they know what they are doing?????????
It is currently 60° and it is cloudy. They are calling for snow on Friday but as warm as it has been it will not accumulate very much if we even get it. It is so dry here that even though the radar says it is raining none hits the ground.
My middle son called and we are going to lunch on Saturday and then to see the play that his family is in.
Have a good day.

Winter has arrived! It has been snowing steadily since late last night. Since the ground is still warm, the snow is melting as soon as it hits the ground. Marlene

Good afternoon all! 79° and cloudy. Some sun every now and then tries to come through. What a great morning I had! It looked like rain. It called for 30% chance on my phone which means probably not but I decided to skip aerobics anyway and got to work. I started with badly needed dusting my and vacuuming. I've been spending too much time stitching and ignoring housework.
Then I got outside for the fun part. Plants were getting backed up to get planted. First I,did something I've never done before. I planted herbs and a cherry tomato plant in a raised planter box. In November! I put in oregano, basil, and Italian parsely. I've planted basil in the ground in Spring up north but never in a raised bed (small). It will be fun to watch and just maybe it will inspire me to cook again.
Then in the garden beds I planted a tropical milkweed, giant milkweed, a beautiful magenta salvia, tri-color ginger, shampoo ginger, passion vine, and dune sunflower. Dune sunflower has little yellow flowers and crawls along the ground. I hope everything takes.
The salvia and sunpatiens that I planted a couple weeks ago are doing ok. The cape honeysuckle and powder puff tree are blooming now. So pretty.
Here comes the sun. I've got to shower and wash my hair for church tonight and choir practice. I got my haircut yesterday. I can't believe how fast it grows. Fortunately the haircut only costs $20.00. Otherwise I'd go back to long hair and buy more plants 😂. I'm tempted to get two more tri colored ginger plants. The one really brightens up the garden and looks lonely.
Hope everyone is enjoying your day. Melissa, hope you aren't in more pain or achy from your fall!

The fall really didn’t hurt. I had an arm full of hunting clothes and mostly fell on them. Beyond scraping my arm nothing else hurt. The arm just has a bruise today. I’m still youngish and in good shape. Lol
Charlene-My mom has had both knees done and you may want to do them before summer. There is some down time and time spent going to PT. You may want to be healed in time to enjoy summer. Fyi, she hasn’t been able to kneel since having them done, tho she probably hadn’t been able to kneel a long time before that. She can feel the metal in there if she tries to. You’ll also want to have your dd stay with you a few days. It was helpful for me to be there to help her with getting up and down, help get her in the shower, and help do the exercises. Been thru it twice with her!
Its been snowing since 8 on and off. It was light and melting. Now its a bit heavier. Yuck! Still 31°.

The weather app was not kidding when it said our temperatures will drop. It's pretty chilly right now. The funny thing, though, is that when the sun came out before sunset and it was beautiful, it was colder than it was this morning when it was rainy and ugly out. I made it to the museum this morning and told them my new plan. I'm going to try to get there each Wednesday they are working to see what I can put on our Facebook page to keep interest up in the museum, but I won't be "working" in the actual building until things settle down here. It felt good to be back with the gang and keeping my hand in things even if it is just a little bit. I was encouraged by their reaction to my new plan. They felt that my "publicity" would be as helpful to the museum as me being in the building doing whatever. There are 6 others who are usually there working, so me working from home won't be a bad thing. DH has been a handful today, but just a bit ago I got an apology from him and an "I love you". Kinda took the smart out of some of the other stuff he said previously. LOL! I'd spent a lot of the day fetching for him him and almost everything I got at Kroger today was for him, so I'm hoping for a more mellow night. I plan to try to put on Netflix for him so he can watch "The Two Popes" while I watch a basketball game tonight. The Bulls are so bad lately that their nationally televised games are few and far between. When I can watch one, I would like to. I was disappointed when I went to Kroger for DH's medication that they were almost 100% out of turkeys. They had one frozen one left in a huge freezer, but it wasn't in the price range I was wanting. That turned out to be a good thing - I think. I see now that Meijer has the size I do want for .33 a pound. The limit is 1 per person, but I may go back for another one to have when the kids come. I was hoping for a better price per pound than .99, which is what I had been seeing. Kroger was sold out because they had a sale on their turkeys for .49 a pound. Sounded good, but .33 sounds better. A bonus I did get at Kroger was when I asked about a discount price on DH's new medication. The prescription was to be for over $70 for a month's supply. The new price was $43 with the discount. It paid to ask the question, not just go with the insurance price. It's still plenty for a month's worth of the pills. I THINK it could be worth it if it helps DH mind his manners better. I've been pushing fluids since Monday when I got the phone call about my kidneys from the doctor's office. Hopefully tomorrow's ultrasound shows minimal problems. I got a text saying the cost to me would be $0 for that. I shouldn't have gotten excited about it. An email said $99. They wanted to know if I wanted to pay in advance. Nope. I think I will wait to discuss this with someone before I pay. Money is flying out the window lately. Melissa, I'm glad you are just bruised and not hurting too badly. Good thing you have youth on your side! Sorry about that heavier snow now. It is just a matter of time for many of us to be in the same spot with snow. For now, Mary, the computer hasn't been an issue. I don't know if he figured out what he was supposed to do, or if he is just avoiding it. That wouldn't make me mad if he did. The wind picked up here also. Have fun with your son and family, Carol! Marlene, the melting snow is supposed to be what we get tomorrow. I hope that is correct. I don't want to be out in accumulating snow if I can help it. Your garden activities, Wendy, sound so nice! I just remembered that the neighbor said he would come after work and look at the shower. That is a good thing, but not sure on the timing just yet. Well, I better go figure out sides for supper. I am cooking chicken but we need more than that. It has been nice to have something else besides the AOA frozen meals. I'm grateful for them, but the same old thing all the time is getting hard to fully appreciate. Hope the day has been good to everyone. G'night.

Karen, hope your tests are favorable tomorrow. It must have been great to have DH say I love you. There is still a good part in his mind but they don't always come forward but cherish everyone that comes along.
Enjoy your evening.

Taking a break before starting supper.
Karen...Hope you can get things figured out with DH's laptop. That is a great idea to work from home for the museum! win-win for all. I am glad you got a glimpse of the old Tim today....praying for more moments like that for you.
Mary Ky....It's always windy here it seems. I can't even hang up windspinners because the wind wrecks them within a short time.
Carol...All 3 things in one envelope? Shaking my head.
Marlene...Same here with the snow. right now they say that visibility is bad driving from the blowing snow, but no accumulation of the grass....the roofs and decks are white, however.
Wendy...I am so glad that you had such a great day! I find it so hard to believe that you're planting this time of the year, but we live in different worlds.
Melissa...I am waiting for the knee thing until mid to late summer next year because by then I will be in my new house. If I have it done while still living here, I will have to go to thee nursing home for a couple weeks because of all of my steps here. I do NOT want to go to the nursing home even for a short period of time! I can get in and out of that house without any steps. As far as gardening, I will have my gardens here left behind by then and more than likely won't start the new gardens there until the summer of 26. I will have the other knee done next winter after the 1st knee is healed. I know I may have to have some help when I get home. I have not been able to kneel for almost 4 yrs, so won't be difficult getting used to that. Charlene

I'll probably forget it by tomorrow morning, so I will add tonight that the neighbor was able to hand-tighten the problem with the shower hose and the fixture in the wall. He said he can come back with pliers or channel locks if need be, but we also cannot let the hose and the showerhead hang down. It is probably what loosened the connection. Duly noted. I will not do that and will put the showerhead back up if I see DH letting it hang.
Thanks, Bet! I've been doing everything I can to make my kidneys work overtime. We'll see if that mattered. It is always such a warm fuzzy when I do get to see DH again. It's hard to be mad about pretty much anything when he is being kind and loving.
Charlene, there ought not be a problem with the computer. It is operator error for sure! It's frustrating for both of us, though. I think I have cleared things up and DH understands, but he doesn't.
Time to get supper on the table. It isn't going to be much, but better than nothing.
