Morning! It's 39° and partly cloudy. We need the rain that is coming on Thursday...such excitement over the amount predicted...1/2-1-inch! Yesterday was good. The Norman Rockwell presentation was so popular that the venue was moved from a classroom to the auditorium. Here's a link that you might want to look at...hope so, anyway! www.chelmsfordtv.org/episodes/library-hour-norman-rockwell-on-art/ You can manipulate what you want to watch and go into full screen. The presentation was very enjoyable...he was a true master. We had a salad and more venison pie last night. My friends from the Salem, NH senior center are coming to lunch today. Not sure what we will have for supper. Have a great day. Waving!

Good morning friends. We had some frost overnight, just 30F at 6.30, but another day of mixed sun and clouds and the temperature will climb to close to 50. Yesterday was about 60. I don't know if that was a record or not but it sure was lovely. I was out and about in just a pair of lightweight pants and a sweatshirt - what a treat! This morning I have a new to me recipe for a cranberry tart - one I have looked at for years and thought I must try it. I will make it this morning and if it turns out OK some of it will come with me for the canning group to have this afternoon when we have our break. Other than that, I plan on a quiet morning - save my energy for this afternoon. Supper will be something from the freezer, possibly some turkey stew that is sitting there, just begging to be used. Have a terrific Tuesday.

Elza, thanks for your link. I have bookmarked yet already.
Not much going on today, just the same old same old. I'm getting ready to sell my car, which I am assuming I can get the guaranteed trade-in value from Subaru.
We are grateful for some rain coming although it won't be a huge amount. Anything at this point to hold down the chance of wildfires.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning friends.
A chilly 48º when Mandy and I went out at 7. This time I remembered to put Mandy's sweater on her. But she was still pretty quick. Now I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee and cookie. I seldom go out without at least half a cup of coffee down. :)
A quick trip to the bank and maybe stop at Fry's to price a turkey. Then home and put up my feet. No baking or any such thing today. If I purchased a turkey I'll have to make room in the freezer, which won't be easy no matter how small the turkey.
One of my friends thought I was crazy buying a bread machine. Telling me I'll gain all kinds of weight. I had to remind her that I am not a big bread eater, I just don't want my sandwich being over 200 calories in just the bread alone and to save some money. She just doesn't get it at all. But she is a big bread eater and has way more money than I. Anyway I've ordered a bread machine and am still thinking of a tool to help me cut it straight and even. I was watching YouTube videos yesterday on bread making tips and recipes. Boy I forgot a lot since I had one, 14 years ago.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning friends.
I just finished the last of the canning of the pear chutney. 7 pints 2 half pints. Whew! Later today I will make some pork and cabbage soup.
Ann- sounds like a good time with friends today for you! Thank you for the link. I have always enjoyed Norman Rockwell's paintings. I have 2. My Mom got them years and years ago and she left them to me.
Tasty- If the tarts is good please share the recipe please!
Birdy= Good luck with selling your car. I hope you get a good price. We are thinking of trading in the Civic for an SUV. Would be easier for Dan to get in and out of. (me too, knee doesn't like it now) LOL We are hoping for some rain on Thursday here. We need it badly! I put out my bird feeders and wow am I swamped. Love it!
Mamma- I love my bread machine. Dan loves bread and so does DGS. I like right now to make the no-knead artisan bread in my Dutch Oven. We like the Rosemary the best so far. I am going to try and olive one later this week.

Already have an acceptance from Subaru for my car at the trade-in value that is guaranteed. It's a good price and I'm very happy about it. Here's one of my favorite ball pictures that I shot many years ago. I have never yet seen that Country Lane look is pretty is it does in this picture. Birdy

Birdy, I am glad you've had some good news about selling your car. Sorry you haven't had much good news lately. Your picture is beautiful enough to frame! Tasty, your cranberry tart sounds like a real winner. I agree sending Christmas wishes would be just fine in messenger. Good idea. Mamma, your popcorn balls brought back memories of Grandma's at Christmastime. I vote for the bread machine. Bet, your Lion's meal had to be wonderful. Hope you can rest a little today. Chris, Pear Chutney sounds delicious. Do you spread it on bread or use it as an accompaniment to meals? Tammy, I sure enjoyed yesterday's rain. Hope Dave's dialysis experience goes smoothly. Elza, what a good idea to have baked potatoes and chili for supper. I'm going to do the same, thanks. Hugs for all of us as we get through the day.

Hello, Such a lovely picture! Birdy, I know you are sorry to have to sell your car. I'm glad you will get a nice amount for it.
Tasty, the tart recipe looks good, and easy too!
Chris, I love that no knead bread!
I got up extra early and finished the red beans, made rice, and baked one more pan of cornbread. I made 2 last night. I totally forgot about keeping some for our supper, so I am thawing some ground turkey and will throw together some kind of concoction. I have some tortilla chips to get rid of, and I have some whole tomatoes, and some green chilies. I'll make some sort of layered enchilada style casserole.
I decided to go ahead and get the pecan pie baked for Sunday. It will go in the freezer until then.
Today is back to being sunny and 80*. That's ok with me.
No laundry got done yesterday so I have a load in right now. Not much more will get done around here today. Waving!!
