Good morning! It's warmer this morning and should be a sunny day. Blessed rain is predicted for the end of the week. Looking forward to that! Supper was good last night. I made a hash using Baldwin potato bravas, cauliflower, and string beans. It went well with the fresh kielbasa. I was lazy yesterday so I have to tend to the messy spots in the kitchen area today after going to exercise class. I signed us up for a presentation about Norman Rockwell this afternoon. Supper will either be swordfish from the restaurant or venison pie. I like Bet's idea of sending a holiday greeting/recipe via messenger. Birdy never got my special musical card, and some came after the holidays. I don't trust the post office!! AND it's so expensive!!! Hope that's not too 'scrooge-ish'! Mamma - I, too, freeze my homemade bread. I slice it before freezing it in 4 slice packets. You can get a bread slicing guide from Amazon...lots to choose from. Have a great Monday! Waving!

Good Monday morning friends.
Ann- I like the idea of the messenger too. We really need the rain here also. I just made French Toast for 2 for breakfast. Nice.

No, Ann. Scrooge has nothing to do with it. Practicalities do. Sad to say, but the post office has messed up my application process for Medicaid in a big way. I do not trust it anymore.
I am not good these days at posting everyday but I do read very much. I have had dried cherries in fudge which were very good.
I visit with the neurologist last week was discouraging. The changes that are taking place are not a result of my surgery but are nerves that are atrophying. There is no treatment except to try to do some physical therapy to keep what I have at the moment. So now I am trying to decide whether I can afford both travel and treatment at the University of Rochester for my jaw since they will not take Medicare or Medicaid. Oh well, life happens when you aren't expecting it!
Bet, I am enjoying your pictures and we'll go through some of my old ones to share with you.
Stay well, everyone.
Birdy

Good morning. A sunny day high of 75º but right now it's only 46º. I was so happy that Mandy was quick this morning. She may have been cold because her mamma didn't put her sweater on her. Mandy is now all curled up in a ball on her bed behind me.
The popcorn balls turned out good and nothing went wrong. PTL for that. It was awkward doing most of the job sitting down but it got done. After Thanksgiving I'll make another batch or two. hehehe My limit is to eat only one ball a day. :) And boy is that hard to keep.
A load of towels from my mess yesterday and one more kind of cookie. Nothing else planned other than sit and rest. I do more sitting and resting than I do work.
(((BIRDY))) I am so sad to hear of you having more issues. I don't trust the mail either. Ever since DeJoy got in as Postmaster General it has been a disaster.
Ann, I'll try the freezing 4 slices at a time. That is when I get around to making the bread. :)

Good morning. No time for a picture this morning. I started cooking at 7 AM. Just taking a quick break. I have the potatoes all cubed and ready to cook later and have made 2 quarts of turkey gravy. Need to do at least on more quart but my arms and shoulders are complaining so will get downstairs and bring everything up from down there that I need.
Birdy, so sorry to read about your latest diagnosis. Have you checked on line to see if there are any organizations that offer financial support for your particular problem or any other kind of support that might be available? It is worth the time searching. There is nothing closer for the therapy?
Have a great day.

Good morning gang. We had a little rain during the night but now the sun is shining and it looks beautiful but I haven't been out yet. Folks do look to be wrapped up this morning as they go for their early morning walks. Birdy, I am so sorry to read about your latest diagnosis. For someone like you who used to love to be out and about, taking photos, watching the birds that has to be hard. As far as the card exchange - no apologies needed. I'm sure we're all happy to see a post from you occasionally as you are able. I do have to head out to the bank in a few minutes and while I'm out I'll get some shopping done for home and also for some baking ready for the Christmas sale at the end of the month. Wishing everyone a marvelous Monday.

Good morning. It was 39° when I walked this morning. I walked in the dark as I went to breakfast with the Monday group at 7:30. They told me the place they were going had $1.99 specials. Lol we got there and it ended in October. All, I had brought was a $5 bill.
Dh and I need to go get a couple of sale items at the grocery store before it ends. I have 5lbs. Of potatoes for 17 cents limit 2 and we use potatoes.
Birdy- I am so sorry about your recent diagnosis. Hugs. Have you heard any more about your jaw. I sent you a private message about mayo.
Bet- take time for yourself.
I would gladly send a recipe through messenger. Or how about a greeting and recipe on a separate post on here. Maybe it would attract lurkers to stop and say happy holidays.
Mamma- I'll take a popcorn ball, I haven't had one in years.
Ann-enjoy your presentation this afternoon.
I have cards this afternoon and I bowed out of pinnacle tonight so a new Comer could play.

With my diet bread being over $4 a loaf, I'm looking into a bread machine. The only difference in the breads is the amount of sugar and the thickness of the slice. I found help here for a way to keep the home made bread from getting dryer than when first baked. So my brain is trying to figure out if it is a good purchase or not. And where in the world will I store the machine. After the mess I had with the little humidifier I don't want to ruin the bread machine too. Looks to me like I have a lot of reorganizing to do to keep more things in the house (park model). Maybe Lincoln can help me figure out a way to bring one of the cabinets from the porch into the already crowded craft room.

(((Hugs))) Birdy -- I know that was not what you wanted to hear. You know there are lots of prayers and thoughts for you from all of us. There has to be some kind of foundation or organization that will help. (A Google search turned up the Community Health Advocates site for New York -- you probably have already looked at all these places but it makes me feel better to at least try!) Chris, your story reminded of an incident shortly after our marriage when DH asked if I was ever going to clean the top of the refrigerator. I said, "I've never seen the top of the refrigerator. If it bothers you, feel free to clean it." He never asked me that again! 😄 A very busy day at the bank -- the morning flew by. I stopped at Walmart to get baking potatoes to have with chili tonight and will get those in the oven shortly. Waving to everybody and hoping we all have a peaceful Monday evening.

Hello, Today a front is moving through, so it is rainy outside. Temps will drop also.
Birdy, I'm sorry you did not get better news. I will be praying you can get financial help and possibly get improvement physically.
Ann, one of my favorite places that we ever visited was the Norman Rockwell museum.
I did my grocery shopping this morning. I tried to get all the groceries needed for this week plus Thanksgiving dinner. We are having a turkey dinner at church on Sunday right after lunch. DH is going to cook a couple turkeys. I think he plans on smoking one and roasting the other. I will be taking a pan of dressing and a pecan pie.
Supper tonight is teriyaki chicken. Not sure of sides yet. Rice would be good except I plan on making red beans, sausage and rice for the mission and also for our supper tomorrow. Since DH is not a huge fan of rice, I don't want to burn him out on it 2 nights in a row.
DH had a doctor appointment at noon today so did not come home for lunch. He called me later and said a nurse was on her way to our house to inspect it for setting up the dialysis equipment. Someone asked when he started, and I was never sure. As it turns out he is going to the clinic every day this week to learn how to do everything. He may need a couple days next week, but maybe not.
She was here about an hour and explained a lot of what is going to happen.
Monday is usually laundry day but that has not happened yet. I may still get a load of towels going .
Wavign to all. Enjoy your evening.
